Enjoyed watching this for a refresher on equipment tie-down. I hauled steel years ago but have been in the Bakken oil field pulling tanks and side-dumps for the past couple of years in the dust and mud (many days only a few miles on pavement). With the oil slump, it's back to OTR again doing heavy haul and this is a nice refresher on some things I haven't done in a few years. Rather efficient, I agree. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Sergei ,just some tips dude ,when lashing chains from tie down loops, make sure that the hooks at the loader side always pionting down so they stay flat to the chain ,so the hook is always to the top of chain,to stop that piece of 8x2 moving put some rubber under it mate.for your dogs and chains ,you can get what we aussies call inox lube ,wont just wash off like wd 40.thanks for sharing your video.
Tie down a huge cat or any machinery is like your own work out session for the day every time you do this. Great work tieing down the huge Wheel loader.
Sergei, you are a master of videoing. I expressed myself about the head cam, and you totally shut me down, you are amazing, Minimal movement, you are not all over the place, you focus on the subject at hand, Thanks for changing my opinion of head cam. You do a fantastic job, and lashing down heavy equipment his hard work, thank you for sharing your experience. Travel safe.
fletcher3913 what helps is that i've already moved 5 or 6 of these 950M machines. the first one took a while, but then it got easier. the only thing i did wrong this time is i forgot to put the ends of the boom on the edge of the oak timber! last time i had the same problem with the timber (it was moving all over the place), so i repositioned the boom so that it was sitting on the sharp edge of the timber pushing TOWARDS the front of the truck and against the chain. that's the only way to stop the movement. no rubber mats would work. there's too much weight in there... glad you liked the vid. more are coming. get the popcorn ready ;)
Great video and sound with new cam. Sound is especially good in truck with very good voice quality, volume, and low background noise. Also liked the head cam quality.
Great video the new camera works well , getting a hands on approach to the tie down procedure , , you the man Sergei the Heavy Hauler , take care have a good safe trip my friend .
Glad you got that cam, it has great video quality and versatility. I appreciated watching you secure the loader into the trailer. I wonder if someone hit the deer to steep three shoes...possible. Stay safe and keep using that helmet cam.
Could you use bungys to wrap around the board and the chain so the board will not move forward? Or wrap a small chain around the chain and wood? With the rubber tires your equipment bounces ever so little but enough to let the board ride forward.
I use small pieces of radiator hoses split down the middle to protect the paint from the chains instead of carpet..easier to manipulate and doesn,t get soaked went it rains
Rubber under the board will help but also wrap a strap or chain hooked on one side, around the board then back down to hook on the other side & pulling toward the tractor and into the chains like you want. Don't rely on friction alone to hold it in place.
Very good video of making that loading machine secure on your trailer but I can see that it is a real nuisance when the ends of the chain tensioner twists as you are tightening the centre core. Your microphone works well except when you turn your head away to look to the side one way or the other. Picture looks good as well.
The board under the boom needs to be beveled. Thinner on front edge ( edge away from vehicle) or nail a 1"X1" piece of wood the length of the board on the rear edge... This should stop the board from sliding...
Sergei have you tried putting a heavy rubber spacer between the board and the fender deck? Kind of like how you use a coil pad when chaining down a coil.
Sergei, I like the location of your new camera. The audio is too low, and the angle is a little too wide. I thought this before you explained about the camera. I've been following you for months and finally decided to comment. I like your rig. Keep the videos interesting and coming.
you mean, "automatic"? because with heavy loads you tend to shift much more often in hilly terrain. auto trannys can really help to put down the stress level.
Very good shot, of tying down That Cat, and I wondered, when you park your trailer for a weekend, or longer, do you remove all of your chains, and binders? or is it in a secure lot. Oh, one more thing, today is Bill's birthday!
willibill c i usually use the machine that's on the deck and i dig a 100 ft deep hole and hide in it: all chains, all binders, all tarps, all tires, and all wheels. works like a charm.
I would let you haul anything anywhere! A lot of work you put into it but that Cat is going nowhere! Great job Uncle Sergi! Haha in America to go right you have to turn left! hahaha
I'm not in the trucking industry, .. but it looks to me like using the POV camera makes a great training video. It shows vividly exactly how all the chaining techniques are used. Better than being *told how to do it, and better than trying to look over somebody's shoulder. ..... By the way, maybe epoxy resin glue would make a good hard surface for that board to sit on. It wouldn't matter if there was a bit of movement, and the epoxy would protect the trailer. .. www.loctiteproducts.com/p/13/23/epxy_heavy/overview/Loctite-Epoxy-Heavy-Duty.htm .. I see in the directions: "Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, wax and paint. Roughen smooth surfaces for better adhesion." I guess most of the paint has already been removed!
robert jacobo that assumption is incorrect. the only way to stop the movement is to position the ends of the boom (when there's no bucket) so that they sit on the EDGE of the timber PUSHING BACK towards the D-rings where the chain i s connected. that's how i did it last time but this time i forgot how to do it properly.
***** I watched your entire vid. I'm just saying, why do you think you have to put rubber under coil bunks when hauling coils in the US? Its so your bunks don't move. Same could apply here if you put a piece of rubber on both sides of the fenders for the board to rest on. Definitely a lot better than putting that board directly on your paint...

I love the camera position. Great first person view of what you do. Thanks!

Great tigh down, more familiar in how to do the work perfect. Thanks for video pinpointing everything! 👍
You have an efficient routine for getting the work done Sergei. It was interesting to watch the process.

***** Sergei, you are amazing. Always learning and sharing. Thanks Great video.
Serguei , I saw someone using 3 or 4 inch fire hose ( slipped over ) your tie down chain . That worked very well for softeners , easy to use . 😎 🇺🇸
Been searching for someone who makes first person videos of chaining down, would love to see more, great video.
Great video and sound with new cam. Sound is especially good in truck with very good voice quality, volume, and low background noise. Also liked the head cam quality.
Thanks for the ride along, etc. Always leaves me with a smile. Keep it between the ditches!
Mr Dratchev a little oil on the threads of those binders will make them work a lot easer the chains wont spin as much
Great video the new camera works well , getting a hands on approach to the tie down procedure , , you the man Sergei the Heavy Hauler , take care have a good safe trip my friend .
Morning Sergei, another great video, thanks. Nice to see the proper way to tie down the machine.
Be SAFE Sergei

Nice bro,I always watch ur videos on learning bout lowboy securing loads

What size chains are being used for the tie downs ⁉️⁉️💪🏽💪🏽
I use small pieces of radiator hoses split down the middle to protect the paint from the chains instead of carpet..easier to manipulate and doesn,t get soaked went it rains
Interesting video, this shows that trucking is lot more than just driving. Greetings from Eastern Finland :)
This video is real good all around. Your on it! Sergei. Thanks.
I guess you'll need to get a cover for those chain compartments before the snow flies - interesting video.

Uncle Sergei good vlog as usual, At my age when I finished I would have to take a nap, did that in my younger day. Keep safe.
Lol, I thought you were only going to use those zip ties at first. Excellent job by the way.
Very good work with the POV, audio is a bit low but good and clear.

That was interesting. There are a lot of little details to tend to.
where do you buy first equipment? its so expensive
nice video you take pride in your work and taking care of your loads. I would lock those chains up on that lowboy though. lot of thieves out there. js
Serguei . Put magnets on your flags works better and quicker . 😎 🇺🇸
Sergei have you tried putting a heavy rubber spacer between the board and the fender deck? Kind of like how you use a coil pad when chaining down a coil.
chadtannerct no
Really nice video. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
Put a small chain or strap on the wood to keep it from sliding backwards and that should remedy the problem
i haul cat machinery have for a long time i think i would put my binders in one place and chains in a box i would not mix them up .
Keep up the good work you are the best on the tube.
Sergei, love the POV cam please continue this it is awesome footage!

Loved the video make more like those please
Sergei,
Good job on all of your videos
I am very excited to learn how to do heavy haul. How did you start in the industry? Any advice is welcomed
with a 3 axle stepdeck.
Bravo Sergei, Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Why you prefer heavy haul Automat than manual?
you mean, "automatic"? because with heavy loads you tend to shift much more often in hilly terrain. auto trannys can really help to put down the stress level.

Pulling a mechanical RGN lots of in and out of the truck. Haha
Rubber tires on equipment really causes chains to loosen up
New use for a brick layers hammer
Great Camera Work !
do you like snap binders?
Great video the new camera.с удовольствием смотрю Ваш канал.Удачи на дорогах!!!!
Nice video Sergei , that is good information !!
Uncle Sergei, what about under that wood you put some rubber mat pieces?
Surguei , have you seen the # 120 grade tie down chains and binders ? 😎 🇺🇸
Have you tried spraying your screw binders with Teflon Dry Lube yet?.. don't forget the ball detent in the ratchet...
Michael Owen no.
What size chains did you use here? Spasiba.
all the chains except one are 1/2".
You earned a new sub 👍 very informative video
Is it magic? We don`t see any haul~you just appear down the road! I, for one want to see the trip!
I would let you haul anything anywhere! A lot of work you put into it but that Cat is going nowhere! Great job Uncle Sergi!
Haha in America to go right you have to turn left! hahaha
Good job sir!
Hey where did you get that rock hammer?
Steve Allen truckstop at area 51
Uncle Sergei, Perhaps that deer had a foot fetish, and stole the shoe from a porch.

Workin on the chain gang.
Serg,
Put a pice of rubber under the wood of the boom and it wont move on you.

nice tutorial....
Did that cat scratch and hiss when you tied it down, or were you able to calm it with some milk and tuna? ;)
Jason Law that's what I was wondering, I started to call PETA, I don't think they allow people tying down cats : )
She actually seemed pretty happy and started purring when I scratched her lightly on the hood behind the exhaust.
great dashcam
Why don't you put rubber under your board for the boom so it doesn't slide on top of scratching your trailer paint??!
ponycar24fan see above

Privet! look like you forgot the key on the trailer ... when you were tightening the chain
Guess I'm the first to watch this one.
That’s it huh?
youre becoming the 950 express man ;)
how are the deal going?, making decent money of the whole adventure? :)
Sergei, can you transport my cat to the animal doctor?
Sure. As long as you go with it. I will tie you both together on the deck. This will make the cat feel better.
Just make sure you put corner protection under the chains, lol!

should have put rubber under the wood and you should put 2 more chains on in the middle
Hello
