  • I've been powering an HX Stomp wit the CS12 for years with no issues. I just started building a few mini boards out and I'm using the CS6 now, and I just wanted to show how to use it to power the HX Stomp.

    I would think that if someone wanted to have a backup dedicated small power supply in their bag for an HX Stomp just in case the factory one died, the original tiny One Stop with the adapters mentioned would work as well, yes? The original is rated at 1700 mA.. Strange that there isn't a simple 2.5mm adapter that is not polarity switching available from TrueTone.

    I can confirm that this cable arrangement works for powering an HX Stomp with a Truetone CS12 PS power supply, using the green (CL6) and red (CYR) cables provided by Truetone, though I felt the video was a little rushed in it's explanation.

    Eventide PowerMini is about 1/4 the size of the CS6. You need a current doubler but it can handle HX stomp and is super tiny. It only leaves 2 other outputs, but they are very high powered and you can power multiples. I still prefer the CS6, but if space is a factor on a mini board, there are a couple options much smaller.

      Oh wow I wasn’t familiar with that one. I’ll have to get one next time I’m building a new mini board

    You can power an hx stomp with a one spot with the right adapter if not powering any other pedals.

    Should we use two 500 outputs or a single 500 to power the HX Stomp with a CS6? Reading conflicting reports. Thanks!!

    Nice.
    Is it normal for the CS6 to be kinda hot to touch after like 15mins of using it?

      @adamlikestorock  Год назад +1

      Definitely. This happens on my cs12 as well

    Hey, why the reversing polarity cable? Is your power supply output center positive or the HX stomp? Thanks

    • @adamlikestorock
      @adamlikestorock  Год назад +7

      The stomp needs center negative and the true tones are center negative, but the green line 6 barrel adapter has polarity swap designed for the older pedals like the dl4. So you have to invert power polarity before plugging it into the green adapter, effectively canceling out both polarity swaps.

    • @rafaelpierozan1
      @rafaelpierozan1 Год назад +1

      I didn’t realize that the green barrel adapter had polarity swap! Thanks man!

      I appreciate the video. I have my hxs running off the 500mA 9v with the red and green combo just fine. Everywhere says the hxs needs 900-1000mA, the cs is probably putting out what 700mA? Any issues running it since you posted? Shouldn't we still eventually get or make the current doubling cable and run it off both 500mA 9v to be safe?!

    • @adamlikestorock
      @adamlikestorock  Год назад

      @@shawnmarko7131 been running it this way with the cs12 and no doubler for 2 years. Running two mini boards like this for 2 or 2 months now no issues.

      @shawnmarko7131 Год назад

      Those cs units must be putting out from the 9v 500mA ports like 750-1000mA. I know they say they're underrated. Idk I solder so may make the dang current doubler cable anyway.

    So if I buy a new cs7, it’ll have everything I need to power a stomp xl?

    • @adamlikestorock
      @adamlikestorock  11 месяцев назад

      I don't know if the CS7 includes the line 6 barrel and the polarity but it should have those included

      Thanks. I actually just got ahold of someone from someone on truetone CS. They said if i use the MC2 cable, which uses two power ports, and attach it like you showed to the red polarity reversal and green barrel, that will work also. The CS guy said you can run it on one power point, like you showed, and he even does it that way. He said using two ports with the mc2 will run it a little cooler. Thanks for the video
