Jan Bakker hey man didn’t you need to get any extra cable to make the HX stomp works? I’m asking this because I’m looking for a power supply for the hx stomp and for my other pedals!
Yep, works exactly the same with the CS-7. I have the Stomp with 4 other powered pedals all plugged in. I just made sure the overall current draw for all pedals together didn't exceed 1500mA.
Has the CS6 continued to work for you? I ran mine off of a CS6 for a little while, but I ran into some glitching sound from my HXStomp that resolved when I switched back to the Stomp’s included power supply... kind of a bummer. The only other thing I’m powering off the CS6 was a Disaster Area Micro midi controller (very little power consumption). Anyway, I’m upgrading to the Strymon Ojai R30 to see if that solves my issues!
Hey Calen! I also have I think the same issue with the CS6.. After powering HXS on, and playing for few minutes, I get also "clipping sounds" only, and HXS also no longer accepting commands.. Could you solve this?
Calen Taylor hey man, thinking of getting an Ojai to power my HXS..still working for you? + do you use a current doubler cable and use 2 ojai outlets to run the stomp?
Huh!? I'm confused...the CS6 supports up to 500mA/output, that's 6 times less than what the Line 6 requires!? How is that possible? Are you sure you're not risking overheating either the HX or the CS6 (I'm no electrician but I assume one or both will suffer from this predicament). It might work (still puzzled as to how and why though??) but I would imagine over time, there's a chance of damage...no?
1 - The CS6 can put out more than 500mA if needed, it's just a conservative rating. And 2 - The Stomp only runs on less than 900mA not 3A. The supplied adaptor is rated at 3A for some reason, maybe a generic adaptor for higher current Line 6 devices?
Hi man and thx for the video. I wanna buy this 1SPOT PRO, for my HX STOMP, too. Is that right, they already come with the cables i need? I saw other people, connecting with a Y current cable, to both 500mA, and not in only one input. Hx Stomp needs 1A, in yr case it's working. Why?
It’s a switching power supply meaning it can deliver the necessary current via 1 port. Just don’t exceed the max power mentioned on the 1spot. Don’t know it by hart. All cables are included.
It depends. If you are using a switching style power supply like a OneSpot then no, provided your pedals don't require more amperage than the PSU provides. You'll need to add up all the power requirements of your pedals and ensure it's under what the OneSpot's max output is. Say you have 5 other pedals and they are all require 100Ma power each so that's 500Ma. The HX Stomp needs 1000Ma so that's 1500 MA total. The OneSpot CS6 provides 1900Ma current so you are good.
This did power my HX but got a really bad bursting noise when I did this. Not sure why, but couldn't use this technique. When I switch to the regular line 6 power, it stopped. Will try again, did exactly as video but a very bad ticking noise with 1 Spot
Thx Man, but I don’t understand why you need to invert the polarity with red cable? HX Stomp power supply have tipical boss polarity (negative center).
I checked with Truetone and they said it's all good. The CS-7 comes with everything you need as far as cables go and just plug into the 500ma section and you've got yourself a powered HX Stomp.
@@liorodriguez7998 hi! i just bought an hx stomp today, i also have the cs-7. im wanting to power up some pedals too like tuner, precision drive, ns2 and carbon copy deluxe. do u think the cs-7 can handle to power up all pedals including the hx stomp? i also have the red and green adapter cable. tia
Line 6 and several other youtubers say no polarity reversal is required. Granted, you're certainly not the only poster who says it is. Why the discrepancy and how can both apparently work? Because It's the barrel adapter/cord that necessitates the polarity switch not he unit itself apparently. I've hear no one else who had a definitive answer on this. The reason so many solutions require a polarity swap is because the 3rd party L6 cable adaptors (to bring the size down to standard) were designed for older L6 tech that was center positive and also reversed polarity.
Hi. The Line6 adapter that's included with the CS6 is reversed, so you're reversing the reversal. If you buy one for newer Line6 stuff you can omit the extra adapter.
the power brick that comes with the hx stomp is 3A, but hx stomp is known to draw between 800-1000ma. when i really pushed the hx stomp it drew 1300ma, so the 500+500 method on strymon might be risky. i think cioks supplies will be fine cuz 660x2=1320
Works great! My CS6 is driving my HX Effects without any problems. Connection is the same as HX Stomp.

how if cs6 do compare with cioks or voodoo lab? which one is the best?
Thank you! Exactly what I needed and you were right to the point 👏🏻
This was perfect. Thank you!
Thanks sir.!!!
Do I get similar results using the CS-7? Great video!
Dysfunctional Mariachi I’m wondering the same?
Yes, I just emailed Truetone and they replied the same day. I would email them your pedal configuration for double checking. Good luck!
When looking at the specs I think it should work. Never tried it though. (If true tone would send me one I could test it and make a video on it 🤪)

It comes with the 1Spot

do you think this CS6 can support HX Stomp, Specular Tempus and JHS Monring Glory?
Look up the current draws on everything you listed, add them together. Is that more or less than the current that the CS6 provides?

Thx Man, but I don’t understand why you need to invert the polarity with red cable? HX Stomp power supply have tipical boss polarity (negative center).
Otherwise it doesn’t work :-)
The Line 6 adapter reverses the polarity to center positive (Line 6 standard), and the red cable changes the polarity back to center negative.

I believe you should also use the doubling cable that’s included so you can power the stomp off of BOTH 500mA ports.
You don’t need to for the TrueTone psus. Their ports say that they can only give 500ma but they can do much more if the psu has enough overall power.
@@matttheamazing5312 is that something Trutone would back, or the diy groups validating that it works?
