They are beautiful, but they literally take over everything. We cut them off the wires recently. We now have them coming in from the neighbors side and it's trying to take over the garden. It's been a major challenge to keep it from over taking certain parts of it. The mother plant is coming from 3 doors down! Lol
Morning glory vines are awesome. But I highly recommend planting them in an area where you can maintain as much control over them as possible. Planting them in containers surrounded by cement such as on decks, patios, or porches is good. Planting them in areas where you have access to the landscape 360 degrees around so they can be pulled out, mowed down, or simply kept in check easier. Planting them on isolated fences or trellises away from other vines, powerlines, and definitely apart from neighboring landscapes is always best.
Is Heavenly Blue also unruly? I only had one survive in a pot and I didn't manage to get seeds and I think it's too late in the year to grow them in my country. Maybe next October.
@@TaLeng2023 Pretty much all morning glory types behave the same. They can all get a little unruly. So, it is best to give the ones you want to keep something to climb on. Keep the rest crawling on the ground so you can mow them over or weed them out. Ours are growing on a fence that I have access to 360 degrees around. So, I just mow what I don't want and only let the ones on the fence get really big.
@@TaLeng2023 Another technique we use is chopping the leaves off smaller plants and composting them in water to feed back to the plants you actually want to grow. The smaller plants are easy to pull out and mow over though.
My favourite 🎉 plant ☘️
Cool. Beautiful. I would let em go forever if it was my property. Beautiful.

Loved "The mother plant"
@@adventurouslabradoodlesA common misconception I see is people confusing these perennial morning glories with the annual ones which are much prettier
