I love ALL your videos. I ONLY plant in containers in my yard. You are my inspiration for everything! Thank you thank you for all your content! I will support you however I can! ❤
Last year i planted my morning glory’s on my east facing balcony in a container. I let the vines climb a stand that I have, and let them go out and around the railing area. Unfortunately, last year i did not get any flowers. This year i ended up planting them (same pot in same spot) about a month earlier (mid may?), and as of 3ish weeks ago i have started to get BEAUTIFUL flowers. I am going to take your advice for next year and plant less in each pot and use bigger ones
I love growing morning glories. I planted them on posts and twine to make a seated shade area. Yes they are invasive but you learn to work with them directing their growth vs against them.
Your morning glory last year inspired me to try them. I am planting them in a pot on the deck and hope to train them to grow along the deck fencing. They will get lots of morning sun.
I see it growing over my shrubs in the backyard of the house i moved into. I noticed hundreds of seedlings in the spring and the vines are now taller than me. 😮
It is very invasive. I planted it in a raised bed last year. I got one plant that barely bloomed. This year I have two plants that have popped up already.
My husband made a wood frame with chicken wire ,he put this on a part of our house that looks great covered in morning glories. The flower bed area is about 3 ft by 12 ft. Once the plants dry out in late fall ,I pull the dried vines down & shake all the black seeds back into the bed so the next year I alway have plenty of plants + can give many away.
On the topic of vining plants, have you considered growing climbing roses, like David Austin's famous Gertrude Jekyll for example? (I've developed a bit of an obsession with roses this year.)
New sub! Great video. Do you have an update video of the morning glory. I have some, it was already here when we moved in and I have to clear and cut it back every few months. It gets out of control very fast. Would love to see how its grown for you. Thanks!
Im trying out morning glories/Moonflower this yr in pots too. Wondering, if the vines get too crazy can they be cut back during the season without killing them?
I’m curious about cutting back the young plants with only 3-4 leaves. Will they survive? The vines are getting hard to control and I still have a few weeks before they can go outside to climb
@@suziq3242 Idk if u already tried but I just tried cutting mine a month ago too when they were young… were going crazy climbing on everything! Theyre ok now and growing back fine.
The worse the soil, the better for them. They love to be drowned but dry by the next day.. The ones that grow in my soil that grass won't survive anymore are the ones that thrive. Hard packed clay based high acidity from the pine trees soil, does better than any of the mixes or potting soils ive tried.
I wish I could share a photo reply, I'd show a 20 foot fence that only gets morning sun with probably a thousand open flowers, 10 feet high (wish I made trellis to climb higher)
Do you have an update on this? I grew mine in small 20cm pot and it started to slowly die because of its extensive roots. Had to restart but unsure how big the pot should be.... don't want to plant on the ground cos I'm scared i won't be able to control it
I planted a morning glory plant this year in one of those half barrels with a trellis. The trunk of that thing is like a small tree now so i was wondering how do you grow them in such small pots ? Also my morning glory just bloomed in November
Hi new subscriber I’m a Chicago native and find your videos relative and informative. I’ve become obsessed with growing butterfly blue pea flower waiting for seeds to arrive have you ever grown them? any tips
I’ve never tried that before! They’re beautiful though. It looks like they might grow similarly to a morning glory so definitely make sure you have something for them to climb!

Morning glories are so easy and you get so much plant in such a short period of time I grow several trellis of these every year

So far this year mine have been much happier with more space to grow!
You should also grow Moon Flowers with the Morning Glory plants. That way you always have flowers.
I am growing moon flower and morning glories this year, would you plant them together? Thanks!

Morning Glory is my favourite flower.... very informative video....😊😊😊😮😮😮

That sounds so pretty! You have to let me know how it turns out.
Try the moon plant it’s amazing opens up in the evening and the bloom is huge Viney just like the morning glory
I’m growing some up an old tall wooden ladder along with hyacinth bean. Mine are in pots as well.
Growing them for the first time this year and will be planting them outside next weekend!
So exciting!!!!
I love this card! Definitely getting this!

I wish you so much luck with your morning glory and I hope they bloom early unlike last year

Yes, I’m definitely keeping any I grow contained to a pot on their own so they don’t take over!

Omg morning glory is my enemy! I grew it like 15 years ago and still pull it every year. Ahhhhh.

Are you just putting one seedling in each window box? Because i just planted about 20 small seedling in one window box.😮
how is your plant doing so far? I just did this same mistake and came to RUclips looking for answers
@TitaSol535 I've removed quite a few, and have 7 in one window box now, doing great!! I even have some flowers blooming
@@TitaSol535 7 might even be too much, I think 3-5 would be better
@@PV.. Thanks for the input! I will do the same then :)
Useful video thanks for sharing

I cut vines back a lot during the season if they start to take over and the plant doesn’t even seem to notice 😆

Thank you for the informative video, is there a video with an update of how they’re doing? 😊
I would check out my August garden tour from last year, it will show how it looked at its peak!

It worked great in the pot I used in this video!

I just force them to grow in the space I give them 🤣 they would definitely live more space.
Does the morning glory plant need the sun all the time, especially if the temperature is 38 degrees Celsius?
They’ll bloom more if they get at least 6-8 hours of sun, but mine gets less than that and still performs well!
I completely forgot about the morning glories, we live in western mass, now it's July 16 th ! I'm so upset!
Stay beautiful.

how do you guide a vine?
I just gently wrap it around where I want it to grow a few times are it gets longer
Please consider clematis as a vining plant for your deck.....there are a variety of colors and sizes (heights) to choos from.
That’s on my list of plants to add! Any recommendations?
