You know the best thing about this video? THE ZOOOOM. Often I watch nail vids and it’s not close enough to see everything. That little aspect makes a wooorld of difference
Great video, but as nail tech i advise not to cut keratinized skin around sides towards free edge (side walls), as this causes skin grow faster and skin will be harder. I advise filing it with 240 grid file. This also will leave skin smoother. Totally agree with cutting off and cleaning cuticles.
huh, I have a huge problem with keratinized skin (I think that's it, it's like calluses), but there's a lot of it that I can't reach with a normal file =/
This! One of my old beauty school mates got their license suspended because they were caught doing this! One person got a really bad infection and reported him to the board. So many misinformed people spreading this advice is dangerous!

@@eugenia_in_blue In Brazil removing cuticles is common , we use sterilizer products and usually woman have their own cuticle remover, you can buy them in groceries and markets so we don't share diseases. I think it makes your nails more delicated, when I was in US it was so hard to find this type of manicure service.
I just wanna put this here: You shouldn’t cut your cuticles, or remove, push down, etc etc for a long distance of time. Cuticles help keep your nails and the skin under free of dirt and gunk. They make sure that your fingers don’t get infected. I wanted to put this here in case people didn’t know :) (Also this video was very helpful when doing my aunts nails for her wedding)
my quarantine project has been nail care; I'm a dude and have never gotten a manicure in my life, so my cuticles look pretty gnarly. I tried buying cuticle remover and a pushing tool, but it hasn't gotten rid of all the dead skin, and now I see why!!! Will definitely have to buy some nippers and give this a go.

My doctor advised me never to fet my cuticles remove it puts you at risk for germs getting into you blood stream! Cuticles are a nessisary barrier of protection!

I've watched quite a few videos on nail care nowadays especially when cutting the cuticle area because I've recently started doing my own nail extensions and this is by FAAAAAR the best video explaining and demonstrating what and how to do it! My sincerest thank you's goes out to you!!!
Omg you taught me better than nail school! In school they'll teach us to cut the cuticle buuut they won't demonstrate on different types of cuticles we'll encounter. I wish schools were as detailed as you -_- I'm 3 weeks in my 1st nail salon and the manager there is actually showing me how to cut cuticle in detail.

This and your last video are SO SO HELPFUL!!!! I finally took the plunge to try cuticle nipping after years of avoiding it.... OMG the difference is amazing! I'm kind of obsessed with it now lol I've always struggled with my cuticles looking so gross and messing up my nail polish application, and it doesn't matter how much I push them back and moisturize (I work in food so unfortunately that means a LOT of dishes) they always crawl back and look so dry and ugly. Your videos have given me confidence to finally try out cuticle nippers and I'm sooooo happy I did. It makes ALL the difference in my manicures. THANK YOU!!!!
Not everyone can teach, but she has a talent for it f o r sure. I'm just learning to do my girlfriend's nails, 1st time, which I figured might not work out great or at all... Salons stopped doing this step because people were getting cut and getting infections. The nail fold shouldn’t be trimmed, it protects the nail from getting infections.
Ur very informative and detailed in ur videos. Maybe the best one I've seen . Ur relatable and knowledgeable when u talk about such a sensitive area. If u dont know this, u could cut someone & that may lead to an infection or one of many nail fungus or disease's. Excellent job!!!

This video is really great! When you did your close ups circle edits, it really puts in the perspective because looking at it so far from the camera I can't really see it. My family has a nail salon and cuticles are one of the most difficult parts for me to learn. I haven't seen many videos that showcase this part on youtube. It just looks so complex, so thank you for providing this information since I found your channel.

Your vids are obsession I keep watching them over n over I wish you could do a vid on how to whiten your nails cause I noticed that your nails are always white and clean
I mix tooth paste. baking soda& a drop of lemon juice together to get a thick paste & brush it on my toe nails & let it sit for ten minutes that should help a bit but like our girl said some yellow is normal & if you don't have lemon juice use hydrogen proxide or drop of bleach I get great results from them all.l hope that helps only thing is if your going to do it often watch the use of bleach & lemon juice they will brightened the nail bed tremendously but they will yellow more if done too often.just tweek the process that work best for you.when I got mine white as possible I just maintained it with the HP & baking soda if I just wanted to wear my pretty toes for a while with out polish LoL .l go for the bleach n lemon juice if I keep them polished for long periods of time.😂l know that it's a mouth full but it really works.thanks for reading.😇
I have a problem with biting the skin around my fingers so I really want to grow out my nails, and let the skin heal but it's really hard, hopefully once Ive done better I can come back to this video and fix up my hands 😁

Cuticle is dead skin, the skin around it that comes off in one piece is not dead just because it doesn’t hurt or bleed. Thats the eponychium

You shouldn't remove/cut cuticles. It's bad for your skin and makes you more likely to get infections.

A lot of salons have stopped doing this part of a manicure and it has been so frustrating, hence why I’ve started doing it myself.
That’s because its not good. People have lost fingers due to this.

I dont do anything to them. My nails are actually slightly yellow, so it’s completely normal so I wouldnt worry about it.
I mix tooth paste. baking soda& a drop of lemon juice together to get a thick paste & brush it on my toe nails & let it sit for ten minutes that should help a bit but like our girl said some yellow is normal & if you don't have lemon juice use hydrogen proxide or drop of bleach I get great results from them all.l hope that helps only thing is if your going to do it often watch the use of bleach & lemon juice they will brightened the nail bed tremendously but they will yellow more if done too often.just tweek the process that work best for you.when I got mine white as possible I just maintained it with the HP & baking soda if I just wanted to wear my pretty toes for a while with out polish LoL .l go for the bleach n lemon juice if I keep them polished for long periods of time.😂l know that it's a mouth full but it really works.thanks for reading.😇

I have a problem with biting the skin around my fingers so I really want to grow out my nails, and let the skin heal but it's really hard, hopefully once Ive done better I can come back to this video and fix up my hands 😁

I've heard people say to not shake nail polish bottles. Gently roll it back and forth in your hands. That will help decrease bubbling.
