That thing about using the shield makes perfect sense. I swear Hawkeyes meta superpower is that he lands crazy trick shots to always hit and that's what it takes to use the shield.
even though tony isn't the smartest in marvel he is probably in terms of pure engineering which gives him feats of affording stuff like this or him making a suit made entirely out of computer code as a way to just show he could or having destroyer armor actually he has a lot of armor that even with comic logic makes you ask how tf did he make this

Out of all the superheroes, Steve’s death affected Spider-Man the hardest. Peter was in denial and refused to believe Steve was dead and at Ben Grimm’s poker game, Peter was telling Wolverine “that’s Steve’s chair” and after Logan says Steve is dead and isn’t coming back, Peter angrily jumps across the table and gives Logan them hands. While visiting Steve’s gravestone, he spots Rhino and gives him a severe beating of a lifetime and selfishly destroys Rhino’s mom’s grave.
Captain America was Peter’s idol for years and before he became Spider-Man he used to read Captain America comics that his uncle got him so hearing that your childhood idol is dead must be the most heartbreaking thing to hear especially when u fought alongside them many times

There was a what if comic where that happens permanently. Pretty awesome comic. Also interesting was that Frank Castle was basically Captain America without the serum in that world.

Punisher gave the shield to Bucky with a note and also gave Winter Solider a custom Captain America costume that he ended up using The reason why Punisher gave up being Captain America? He fought a mutated KKK army which almost ended up with the whole state being dirty bombed. He noped out of it

Yup, Frank Castle is about as difficult to get along with as Logan, both are hostile to just about everyone, but when Frank killed two criminals that were siding with Captains rouges during the civil war, cap throws hands with Frank and tells him to fight back, but Frank says that he won’t fight captain Rogers because he just respects him too damn much. For someone to get the respect of the Incredible Hulk, Wolverine and the Punisher, and be idolized by Spider-Man of all people, you have to truly be a great person. I wonder if Blade, Moon Knight, Deadpool and Ghost Rider have any positive opinions of ol’ Stars and Stripes?
The civil war comic to me is one of the best comics to come out in the 2k. It’s kinda sad for me that the mcu used it way too early with not enough characters. They should have blended the tv shows with the movie to have more people on each side.

Steve Epting's art is one of the most mesmerizing comic art I've seen. It gave Brubaker's run that distinctive cinematic pulp look, as you described it.
Great summary, but it's easy to forget about the retroactively added Caps after Steve and Bucky 'died' in WW2. Two replacements served in the suit in the rest of the 1940s and another in the 1950s. Then there are the replacements in the 1970s following the Secret Empire storyline which saw Steve put down his Shield and briefly become Nomad. Then there's hie retirement in the 1980s before donning a red, white, and black costume as the Captain. And to think that this is the short summary! Over 80 years of Cap stories... May the legend and the Nation live forever!

Remember Big Jack Horner swinging around Excalibur, stone included? Maybe he broke the lock, or what the shackles were attached to. There's always a workaround (in comics and cartoons).
It depends on when was Tony written and by whom. During the 60s, 70s and early 80s Tony was a heroic and inspiring character. It was in the late 80s and early 90s that the writers made him more narcissistic.

Sam is a good character, but the weight of being Cap will (and has been) too much for him. Even the Punisher couldn't handle it. Bucky could carry that weight, he knew Steve better than anyone. Now, whilst I love the introduction of the other attempts to re-create Captain America after Steve Rogers "dies" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this idea of Bucky becoming the next Captain America would just make so much more sense to me, after Steve decides to stay in the past to live with Peggy post-Endgame.

This might be heinous, and I do like the two characters I’m about to name, but in the name of these Civil War plots: I would’ve loved to see Tony be splattered over the ground like a Sam Gilliam painting. I sort of got that fulfillment in Civil War II but I also despised Carol Danvers in this storyline. She was essentially Injustice Superman in my eyes and it would’ve been nice to see her dealt with more directly also.
Hey Dan, i was wondering if you could go into the story of how Bucky became Nomad for a short while and struggled withan identity crisis. Its one of my favorite stories that i read growing up. The book source was Captain America Winter Soldier Complete Collection by Ed Brubaker, with Epting, Lark, Perkins, and Leon.
I HATE that Bucky is alive (He should have stayed dead.), but Brubaker did really good with him, and The Winter Soldier was great (At least up until it was revealed that Bucky was back.).
This is the first marvel run i read as a kid cause my uncle passed down a box of comics to me including this and xmen 2005. I always thought the design choices were.....interesting

Now, whilst I love the introduction of the other attempts to re-create Captain America after Steve Rogers "dies" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this idea of Bucky becoming the next Captain America would just make so much more sense to me, after Steve decides to stay in the past to live with Peggy post-Endgame.
Second Captain America? At this point, wouldn't Bucky be, like, the 8th? After US Agent, that one racist one, Spirit of 76, and all the others everyone forgot?

I would’ve loved to see Tony be splattered over the ground like a Sam Gilliam painting.
I sort of got that fulfillment in Civil War II but I also despised Carol Danvers in this storyline. She was essentially Injustice Superman in my eyes and it would’ve been nice to see her dealt with more directly also.
If only Disney could do this in live action

I HATE that Bucky is alive (He should have stayed dead.), but Brubaker did really good with him, and The Winter Soldier was great (At least up until it was revealed that Bucky was back.).
This is the first marvel run i read as a kid cause my uncle passed down a box of comics to me including this and xmen 2005. I always thought the design choices were.....interesting
