  • Bob Maddox the Rocketman Part # 2 building the twin Viper valveless pulsejet engine powered go kart. In this first part episode I'm taking a Craigs list go kart and mounting one of my revolutionary new instant starting diesel powered valveless lockwood type pulsejet engine producing 100 pounds of thrust and mounting it and all the necessary components on the kart. You can contact me for engine kits and completed engines at rrocketmann@charter.net or go to my website at www.maddoxjets.com.

WELL YOU ARE THE GREATEST PULSE JET BUILDER EVER!! Greetings from Sweden. From ages 15 to now i have always wanted a pulse jet engine but i dint get one until i was 50, it was an original unused valve jet from the 60. Your engines are so perfect tuned and well build also you have put both the ignition and the propane inlet in the perfect spot in the engines so you are able to start them with a flick of the switch, impressive and the answer to anyone how you did to make them start without air pressure :)

  • @michaelsulpizio606

Robert: Great simple build! There must have been something to the pulse jet design simplicity for one thing! Unfortunately the Nazis adapted it to the V-1 flying buzz bomb in world war 2 Amazing how advanced they were back then , no improved upon with the pulse jet rockets of today! I was hoping you would be able t test the cart out some place where you could real open her up! Maybe in another episode? This is the first of yours I’ve looked at loved the simplicity of the design and build. Some basic fabrication tools and skills and you have a jet cart! Although that level of go cart is not cheap ! But anything with wheels of lesser value would work! Hopefully with brakes! 🤣LOL . A home built coaster wagon like I had about 65 years ago would work! I’m 75 now should know better but I’d like to build one of these myself my background is fabrication , Automotive restoration, retired! Loved your video, will look at and follow more! Keep up the good work ! Regards Mad Mike S.

Hey Bob, how well would this perform if the pulse jets were used in conjunction with a traditional petrol motor or electric engine? I'm thinking the pulse jest could be engaged on long straight runs for power boost and then the drive shaft powered motor for tight turns etc. Just thinking out loud!... KILLER BUILD MATE! I love what you do FYI

    • @RobertMaddox

I would be placing a Grille and a Hotplate over those red hot pipes - a few Steaks / Sausages and Chops and having a moving BBQ. Pulsejet can probably suck-in the hot fat that drips from the BBQ and help to propel it along.

Just a "Buzz Bomb" on wheels. What would the Nazis of WW II think if they could see what the V-1 engine is good for now, LOL!!!
This is the Best wheeled car/go cart I have seen, but not the Fastest. Fastest pulsejet record I have seen is ice speeders doing 148 mph plus runs for top end Speed!!! Wow.

QUESTION.....YOU USE TWO 12 VOLT PUMPS AT 24 VOLTS DOUBLING THEIR OUTPUT SO YOU CAN MIST THEIR FUEL BETTER...BUT THEN YOU DROP IT INTO A SINGLE LINE WHICH SPLITS BACK AT THE ENGINE INTO TWO FEEDER LINES EFFECTIVELY DROPPING THE PRESSURE BACK DOWN TO A DOUBLE 12 VOLT PUMP PRESSURE AT THE SPLIT DUE TO MAXIMUM FUEL FLOW OF THE SUPPLY LINE....SEEMS IT WOULD MAINTAIN THE HIGHER PRESSURE BETTER BY RUNNING TWO 24 VOLT FUEL FEED LINES ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE ENGINES VS ONE..
