wow. You actually gave me hobby that is pretty cool. Ever since my friend introduced this kind of thing to me, I got more and more involved. thank you soooooooo much this is coolest thing I've ever done in my life. man what a thrill.
Pulse Jet - Simple and gets the job done. So long as the job does not require thrust control beyond off to full frantic. Great test airframe. Control over speed.
Seems like a small electric fuel pump with a proper regulator and return line system would fix the problematic and flaky nature of using a gravity feed for this type of engine. That way you have a controlled positive pressure that's very consistent, easily throttled, and can be cut off without the hazard that a pressurized tank would cause. Cool plane btw, even if it's loud as hell.
Nice power, way too loud for most flying fields and if you have to wear hearing protection its definitely too loud. Good going Bruce, I see you are allowed to fly again.
@xjet Yes, but you forgetting, pressure conditions in a Pulse Jet change during flight, and so will your pressure from your tapping point. You need something constant which does not rely on pressures generated from within the engine itself. Your tapping point will also pulse...just like the engine itself does as the pressure wave travels back and forth along the engine.
Any chance you plan to make a new body for your HK pulse jet that cracked? I am expecting to run into the same issue as now that I have taken a closer look at mine, the welds are indeed pretty poor... It sounded like in your video review that the valve plate and intake were made well and it would probably be more efficient with a better designed body? I have been looking to find out how short the body can be redesigned, it seems like it was made longer then needed due to its small diameter but have not found much info.
This guy shows jet flying guys are cool in the sun and fun under lean conditions. But not all jet guys are cut from the same sheet of stainless. the other day I filmed a crash land and was hounded for the footage. many happy pulse jet returns. you are a good jet guy in my book of fun activities
This model isn't particularly fast because it has a lot of drag but my Long-EZ was about 100mph or so. New Long-EZ under construction now for this summer.
great work ! - i was impressed by the acceleration and how well the plane held a glide without all that power and the extra weight of the pulsejet on top. She seems very well trimmed out . How long can the PJ run for before u expend the rations onboard?
well done Bruce! excellent flight..must also thank pit crew member Barry! excellent job barry! It seem that you have made him a bit of a you tube star bruce!
Back in '76 by buddy and I first fired up his Redhead pulsejet in the alley in about 4 ft of snow. Just for the heck of it, we tried some stating spray (ether) while it was running. Talk about a spectacular exhaust flame! It cooled the tube too- the color darkened momentarily, but the sound was awesome. It would be cool if you could figure a safe way to inject short bursts for flybys!
Hi Bruce. I was just wondering how fuel efficient a pulsejet is. If for example I had a hobbyking pulsejet of reasonable quality, how much fuel will it burn per minute at optimum output.
They are very fuel-inefficient. Watch my RCModelReviews channel next week. I'll be showing a XUAV MiniTalon powered by a HobbyKing pulsejet and you'll see first-hand how much fuel they use :-)
i know its a stupid question but how much dose the puls jet weigh and is it more eficent than a turbine i am only asking these question because were we fly your not aloud turbins
Imagine a typical scale A-10 that is capable of flying around with the stock EDF's and when pitched in a dive you light up a Dynajet PULSEJET thats mounted to the plane to hear a deafening roar just as the real A-10 Warthog does with its unique strafing gun!!! What an idea!!! I believe that we as humans should all work collectively together , that is why im openly throwing this great idea out to the web! Just think, A typical EDF A-10 Warthog with an addition of fuel tanks in the hull and small wing tanks. The tanks would fuel a Dynajet pulse jet engine mounted on top of the plane (preferably centered with the fuselage to make it balanced,; the tip flush with the ducted fans would be cool) complimented with a tuned, intake/ fuel/ ignition system that is able to auto start, mid flight (easily doable). =)
Pulse jet engines intake air simply through being open, while turbine jet engines have a spinning fan that pulls the air in. This causes the air to be burnt in a pulse jet in, as the name suggests, pulses, as there is a split second delay before the air is able to re-fill the combustion chamber. They tend to be less powerful at low speeds, however at high speeds the lack of obstructing fan allows in some cases more power than a turbine engine. Also they don't catch on fire as much :p
Very nice video. Cool idea to put a pulse jet engine on a RC airplane and by the way is there any way to control the throttle like a regular jet engine.
Pulsejets, best fuel to noise converters ever made.
second only to detroit diesels
I would think global warming as a political topic is a more powerful fuel to noise converter.
Achtung, Herr Leutnant, sounds like a "buzz bomb" to me !!!
Ww2 vets are looking up ! Buzzing bombs
Wow you sure have that right !!!
"Welcome to Jurassic Park"
Hahaha shit thats a good one my respect bro best of the Year
That one caught me off guard, LOL!
Immediately realised what you meant as soon as the video started
Sehi pakda
Lmpa 🤣🤣
"That was a bit exciting!"
Far out Bruce!
Seems to be a great platform for the pulsejet. Nice work as always, Sir!
Посадка просто СУПЕР!!!!!! Я впечатлён!
Well done Bruce, got to be one of the best conversions for a RC aircraft box set I've seen.
LOL. It does not get quieter as it gets farther away.
I thought I had seen everything, but this something new and mind-blowing. A pulse jet ! Wow ! Well done !
Lets see... 1945 for something new?
@@tedmoss the first working model was created in 1907
I had a control line plane with this kind of engine when I was about 14. Coolest, most dangerous toy I ever owned.
wow. You actually gave me hobby that is pretty cool. Ever since my friend introduced this kind of thing to me, I got more and more involved. thank you soooooooo much this is coolest thing I've ever done in my life. man what a thrill.
Hey bud. How are you doing now??
I was always curious about the pulse jet behind Bruce on the rcmodelreview videos. I finally get to see one fly. Nice!
luv it sounds just like the old v-1's from Germany great engineering!
Yes, I remember one crossing South Ruislip and heading for Harrow. Pulse sound was slower than this I recall.
Sprightly is an understatement!
We all need runways like this.
Un merveilleux pilote ce brave
Nice!!
I bet anyone living near your flying
field must love you guys. ;-)
That motor sounds like the sky is
being ripped open..
The best with the pulsejet-engines is the sound!
Great flying teamwork! Fantastic landing! Highly enjoyable! Short and to-the-point!
That's class, such a great fast flight and smooth landing. Keep up the quality work.
Pulse Jet - Simple and gets the job done. So long as the job does not require thrust control beyond off to full frantic. Great test airframe. Control over speed.
very interesting and lots of fun by the looks and sounds of it , hope to see more flights real soon , cheers thanks for sharing .
Wow, that thrust!
Great tail colors...The famous Jolly Rodgers!!
Make it bigger. And now you got yourself a V-1 German WW2 rocket
Such a smooth landing..
😂😂😂
congrats! your plane didn't fall apart under these forces. wow such a speed!
Perfect landing!
Super job with fixing pulse jet problems. Not a bad pilot either!
Ahhh the good ole days Bruce.
Well done Sir ; ts quiet rare to see new technologies .
Please keep your videos coming .
Best regards from your fans
Lets see... 1867 to 1907 pulse jets were developed, that's new technology. It is still rare.
@@tedmoss mostly due to the noise!

8 inches between the bottom of the fuel tank and the injector will cause problems at high G no matter what the pump pressure.
Nice power, way too loud for most flying fields and if you have to wear hearing protection its definitely too loud. Good going Bruce, I see you are allowed to fly again.
110% rated well done very fast, few bugs to be expected, well done great series Iam sure so looking forward to the next vid. Many thanks
Excellent!
Hella smooth flying 🤴
great plane the climb rate is awesome
Nice! Are you not concerned about the vert stabs disintegrating in the exhaust? Is that thick straight wing designed for those kind of flight loads?
That thing looks like a flying razor blade! Doctor Phibes would be proud.
That pulse jet was just awesome!
2:12 Maybe it was not the G-forces that caused the engines to go 'lean' but the cavitation effects at comitting a 180 turn
Mes respects mon vieux.... bravo
Always cool to see this again and again.....
Haha i laughed so hard when the fuel was cut... In this state its more of a V-1 than a plane xDD
Im just kiddn, so its no offense ^^
nice landing, rc aircraft make landing full size planes look easy
@xjet Yes, but you forgetting, pressure conditions in a Pulse Jet change during flight, and so will your pressure from your tapping point. Headed for London?
Lol,respect
that's dark humor but good anyways
Bruh
Is it wrong this had me laughing!

damn, that got up and it got out of there in a hurry.

Good Flight, and that landing wasn't too bad either...
What speed would you achieve through this pulse jet engine,,, happy if u reply bruce
This model isn't particularly fast because it has a lot of drag but my Long-EZ was about 100mph or so. New Long-EZ under construction now for this summer.
Wow that thing is quick! Do you have any idea what kind of fuel consumption you are getting on this engine, say in ml/min?
Pretty good
Super aircraft, great first flight and landing!
Excellent Bruce,a doodle bug TameCat awesome keep up the good work. All the best David.
Great job mate, you've just reinvented the V-1 Buzz Bomb albeit a faster version. Super landing!
great work ! - i was impressed by the acceleration and how well the plane held a glide without all that power and the extra weight of the pulsejet on top. She seems very well trimmed out . How long can the PJ run for before u expend the rations onboard?
Congrats Bruce.
that was amazing! perfectly balanced
Nice landing.
well done Bruce! excellent flight..must also thank pit crew member Barry! excellent job barry! It seem that you have made him a bit of a you tube star bruce!
What shame no more flights of Bruce's Cruze Missile/V1 and such like.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching its progress . Thanks Bruce..
Fast & loud, thumbs up, both of them..!!
wonderful work guys. Thanks for sharing!
@xjet Die Wunderwaffe ist ein Erfolg, Herr Simpson!
just love you guys. you duffers are my kind of crazy hahaha... thanks for all the fun....
I would love to see a flight longer than 24 seconds, but I bet engineering it further will be a challenge
Lucky to keep it in the air that long, from what I've seen, good job!
Back in '76 by buddy and I first fired up his Redhead pulsejet in the alley in about 4 ft of snow.

A pulse jet is to fast for that kind of stunt, just keep it flying.

they are only efficient in making huge noise. cool as fuck though :)
A little bit too much for most RC flyers to handle. Exciting!
Looking forward to the next flight, love it.
I love how Aussies call each other Bruce.
mikdre I’m pretty sure he was kiwi
well done. iv followed this plane nice to see her up
You just gave old British folk some flashbacks.
lol! great vid, i remember you saying this won't be as fast as other pulse jets, but damn that thing is fast!
The simpliest engine you can do !
i know its a stupid question but how much dose the puls jet weigh and is it more eficent than a turbine i am only asking these question because were we fly your not aloud turbins

Now, that is frigging COOL!!
As you saw, they had ear protection. It sounds like a 50 caliber mini gun. really, really LOUD.
Brrrrllint landing sir
Nice....love from India..
Thanks
I had a thought. A piston for a fuel tank. Compressed air pushes it out. Use a few E-Cigarettes as a carburetor, and try for a longer flight.

Isn't this is the guy who released genetically engineered dinosaurs onto the Earth?
Given how simple pulse jets are, I wonder why they aren't more widely used. Are they very inefficient in fuel use?
your vids r always great Bruce
Very nice!!...Yes, a cup of coffee to finish off a good test flight.
Except for HobbyKing Pulse Jet motor, is there any other Pulse Jet´s to buy for RC planes??
seems like all the good ones are homebuilt
So good that landing!
Sheet Bruce that took off like a cut Cat!
2019 gotta get this going again Bruce !
Yep, I think I'll wait until the grass is a little less dry though :-)
Very nice video. Cool idea to put a pulse jet engine on a RC airplane and by the way is there any way to control the throttle like a regular jet engine.
What is the engine's thrust? And max payload
one of my uncles had a control line plane with a pulse jet for power. how he lived through spinning around so fast I don't know.
Long lines.
wow! A pulse jet and Jurassic Park. Good work man
How mach times per second the engine pulsing?
Great landing
Very cool. Thank you for sharing this.
Wow, that's a fast plane !
wow with such a simple motor I now want to make a giant drone
Ukraine wants you
