What is the difference in secure boot and non secure boot. I actually messed up while installing. I changed boot mode to legacy and installed windows. Now if I change it to UEFI laptop doesnt boot, instead it keeps on boot looping
when i try to switch from legacy to uefi then i save and exit it says no bootable device when i changed it back to legacy it fully opened idk whats wrong can u help me?
@@renjithroy8422 hmm i did some 3 days research what i found is u need to convert your mbr to gpt disk so u can go to bios switch to uefi without getitng that no bootable device Reminder do converting mbr to gpt you may or may not lose all your pc data it depends

Well, it worked. However I'm not happy about buying a $50 software program to do so. Windows now boots in UEFI, which I needed to get SAM(Resize BAR) working.
Microsoft has this built in Windows 10. All of these links want you to pay for their software. Try this: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/mbr-to-gpt. Command line is: mbr2gpt allowfullOS /convert /disk:0 Change the disk number to the actual drive number in your system No data loss either. Once this is done, if you do not have a UEFI compatible bios, your system will be unbootable and need some techincal repair. Only works to convert to GPT (or UEFI) not the other way around though. Standard waiver applies: Back up, Use at your own risk and "It worked for me?".
You need to pay for the full version of Aomei to convert, how is this an easy method at all? Is there actually a free software out there or they all ask for money? Can't even start a trial which is horrible..
try turning off 'secure boot'.. if it doesn't let you, you may need to set a 'supervisor password' first. should allow you to change them after ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have a Toshiba laptop but I cannot enter the bios. For me it is F2. I tried spamming it/holding it down multiple times but it does not work. When I try to go to settings > update & security > Recovery > advanced startup > restart now > troubleshoot > advanced options, there is no "UEFI firmware settings" option. All I am trying to do is get to the BIOS. Prior to installing windows 10, I was able to access the BIOS using F2. After installing windows 10 it does not work anymore. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Bhai after a while it loaded to that part where to press Ctrl +alt + del, but as soon as I press Ctrl+ alt the texts disappeared and now it's blank again but a little brighter

Demo version for the AOMEI partition doesn't allow for MBR to GPT conversion. Are you using premium version?

The free version of AOMEI Partition Assistant doesn't allow the conversion. Maybe it did once? Not working in October 2020

Mr.Calino use this command in an administrative command prompt: mbr2gpt.exe /convert /allowfullOS
Then swap your boot setting to UEFI.

The recommended tool, AOMEI Partition Assistant, will not proceed with this task in the basic 'FREE' version.

AOMEI Partition Assistant free nhi hain bhai. GPT main convert karne ke liye upgrade karna padta hain.
it tells me that my boot partition is on a separate drive so i will not be able to boot into windows if i convert. what am i missing?
