Hi, am not that kind of techie person, but I want to convert BIOS mode Legacy to UEFI on my PC. Could you please list down the command you entered, the exact order as you demo? Please add in the comment, sir. Thanks in advance.
There is a lot easier method of doing this. I did a lot of research on this topic and I found this as the best and most easiest method. Pre requisites :- Windows 10 1803 or higher. There must be atmost 3 partitions In your disk. If you have more then backup all your data in the local disk with least data and delete that partition. Steps:- 1. Search for advanced startup settings. 2. Click on advanced restart option. 3. Go to troubleshooting option. 4. Select the command prompt option. 5. Your device will restart with a command prompt open. Type - mbr2gpt/validate. 6. Now type mbr2gpt/convert. 7. Your OS will be successfully shifted converted to UEFI. Restart your PC and open BIOS settings by pressing F11 ,F12,F2 depending on your PC type. Go to boot menu . Change the boot mode to UEFI. 8. Go to exit menu select exit saving changes. If you have done everything right your OS would be shifted to UEFI
It Works!!! but before i can boot it up i got to a little prob my pc cant boot up missing device well to my noobness i forgot to switch from legacy mode to UEFI mode lol so after setting that up it works like charm thanks for this awesome info buddy!! keep it up!!
Kinda confused me for a minute. It said before you converted to GPT it said the operation will overwrite all partitions so I thought it would wipe the Data which didn't really make sense.. But when I installed W 10 it put my System Reserve partition on the other HDD which is already GPT, so that shouldn't matter. All I am going to do is convert the OS drive to GPT and BIOS from Legacy to UEFI, then shrink Windows 300MB, then create the EFI partition in the 300MB space I cleared, followed by building the BCD... Right?... I hope it works. Or maybe I will look and see if I can move my System Reserve partition to my Windows drive also... Thanks!... UPDATE>> I had read that if you have more than one partition you will have a system reserve. I only have one partition with everything on it so I took the other HDD out and the system booted right up. No startup repair, just quickly booted into windows. But if I do this I will be adding the EFI partition so I guess that means I will probably have to add the S.R. partition. Not sure. A little more research on that matter. Thanks!

@@kashiftechgaming Well I believe I have, a few weeks after posting that comment. Apparently, it might be a different model of the motherboard that only supports legacy.
