Then comes the advert for the expensive software, to fix this problem .i downloaded a TRIAL version lol, of the recommended software called EaseUs, partition. manager, & when i attempted to ' easily ' fix this problem, the usual you cant complete this task, with the trial version popped up.

Worked perfectly! Was on legacy and couldn't disable csm in order to enable secure boot for windows 11. After doing this (and enabling secure boot) my computer is now windows 11 ready! Thanks for the easy to follow guide!
I need help my partition guid is in mbr and my csm is enabled and my bios is on legacy in order to download windows 11 i need my secure boot to uefi i have a gigabyte aorus b450 pro wifi motherboard

1. How to know my PC BIOS is ready for Legacy to UEFI?
2. A video of BIOS settings before Convertion to GPT is more n more convincing.
3. What will happen to Hidden system recovery partition?
Broo how to know that your pc supports UEFI .I know what is UEFI and LEGACY but can you tell me how to check it whether ur pc supports UEFI or not ?? help me bruh

Excellent video, worked for me after I thought I had to wipe/reformat my SSD and install windows again just to convert from CSM to UEFI. This did the trick and I am very grateful for the no b.s and fillers, just straight to the point. Thanks again. All the literature out there about jumping your motherboard and removing the CMOS battery is crap and a waste of time and does not really fix the issue.
Worked spot on. My Hard disk was MBR and BIOS boot = LEGACY. (Windows 11 checker says "No secure boot")
I converted the boot hard disk to GTP first, no problems. Then rebooted, got into BIOS holding DEL down, and selected UEIF instead of LEGACY,
Save and exit, it rebooted using EUIF and saw the GPT hard disk ok, booted into windows 10 OK.
All my windows 10 settings and programes are still all intact.

I have an nvme m.2 and i didnt switch to gpt when installing windows on it so i had problems! It would let me boot into the os but sometimes it wouldnt let me boot! But now that i switched it to gpt i can disable csm and enable secure boot and also it boots into windows faster!
U made my problem silmple and easy to fix!
I might as well go through this for Windows 11 to see If it helps with compatibility
My head was spinning trying to find a way to get the boot options when in uefi while still running legacy. But this cleared it all up.

hope u r well Mathew....if you don't go through this process, then its 100% certain that you won't be able to run Windows 11 .I am 70 year old, & new to this kind of thing, but I found the steps this guy provided to be simple & fail proof.
this new windows .version, is another way for Microsoft, to get us to buy a newer compatible PC . stay safe

This worked - thank you! I have been trying to do this for some time. On the Aorus A370 I disabled CSM and needed to change the boot priority to the new partition once converted to GPT and restarted but it went flawlessly (except I had to convert twice, so I have a random 100mb partition on C but I can live with that!)
YOU SAVED MY LIVE. I accidently installed this weekend W10pro in Legacy mode on a new PC I have build. Took me the whole day to setup windows, my programms, settings, etc. Than I found out I made this stupid mistake and had my bios at Legacy+UEFI. I started searching online, and also found a MS page about it: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/mbr-to-gpt.
That's unbelievably complicated and very hard to understand. I followed your advise and it was a mather of only 1 minute!! and I fixed it. Why can't big companies make things easier. Thanks for you video, this is really great help. I'm a subscriber now ;)

Help After the conversion was completed it gave me an error -"Failed to update ReAgent.xml,please try to manually disable and enable WinRe"

Wanted to say thank you for this. Had built a new computer 10th gen i5 with DDR4 3200mhz 32GB RAM, RTX 3070 plus much more. Ended up getting my new 10th gen i7 today, swapped out the i5 for i7 and computer only booted to the bios. Confused as hell figured out the MSI MB was somehow set to CSM instead of UEFI and my drive was set to MBR. Installing the i7 somehow triggered the MB to switch to UEFI and that explains my boot only to the bios. Did your tutorial and boom, up and running in UEFI, no data loss (even though I have complete backups) and problem resolved. Thanks again. The whole time I thought I was set to UEFI and turns out I wasn't.

If conversion is successful the disk can only be booted in GPT mode.
These changes cannot be undone!

MBR2GPT: Conversion failed

My pc bricked itself the other day after a bios update and ended up with me having to reset all drives and re install windows but I had to do it in crm. I can’t even put into words how much this helped me buddy
You had to make sure that your motherboard could support UEFI

Excellent. Wanted SAM on 6800xt 3600 B450. Needed to convert to UEFI first. Then turn off CSM and enable universal 4g coding and resize bar. It worked!

Thank you for excellent instruction. I followed your advice and succeeded converting MBR to GPT and Legacy to UEFI , let's say, less than a few minutes. My purpose in conversion is setting NVME m.2 SSD as boot drive. As far as I know, I must have UEFI mode first before proceeding to next step. My question is, what is boot partition after conversion to UEFI, 100 MB created by the procedure, or major partition of c: drive ?

Great tutorial, still helped 4 years later, however i do have a question, i have an SSD where i run my windows and an empty HD just for brute storage, do i need to convert that one too? it has nothing in it, its literally just storage

This is wrong! The program he is using, MBR2GPT is * ONLY * available in Windows 10.

The title says Windows, as in Windows anything. I have Windows 7. So this video is just wrong.

Sorry, I didn't mention in the title, but there is a big Windows 10 logo in the thumbnail and I also mentioned in the beginning of the video that mbr2gpt is available only from creator's update version of Windows 10.

when you create the uefi partition , what files get created on that partition. I have a Dell and I set my BIOS to legacy because the disk I had had no uefi partition. This looks really easy to convert. So what files are created in that partition, (if any)? Very good video, thanks
good video. I will try this out on my newly built computer. I loaded windows onto the new computer by using an existing image, but now it is a MBR drive.

For non system disks, you can use any third party free software.
@@itarmy2778 thanks, i tried both methodes, first without converting to GPT and that worked great. then i went back to a normal MBR and then tried the other methode to convert the entire drive to GPT and that worked flawless as well. Good videos. I am a new subscriber!
