She is one of the most effective legislators in the nation. She works for the working class / middle class and poor, not billionaires. My impression of her is that she's authentic and really wants to work to make this a better country (where as many politicians want to convince voters they're working for them but, what's most important to them is winning elections and staying in office. Even if they know they're not effective and there are other candidates who would almost certainly do a better job and accomplish more for the country).

Katie Porter is an example of how All of our Elected officials should be behaving.
She is the gold standard in my opinion.
Elon Musk struggles with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. He's a bit of a savant but it's difficult to say what personal skill is his true skill since he takes credit for everything. his one skill might simply be his futuristic vision referencing technology and good math.
but he has dozens of Professionals in every field who do the actual work for him it would seem.

She is great. And a great politician. Now she's sidelined. Losing her seat on the House Financial Services Committee after House Democratic leaders rejected her request. And still not calling out the corruption and specifically the corrupt politicians in the Democratic Party.

Chris Chamberlain: Yes, Katie is marvelous at exposing the system and it's corruption and I love her for that, but she's proven to be an ineffective legislator. Point to any substantial legislation that has been brought forward, let alone passed, based on Katie's clear and poignant assessment of the failures of the system and the establishment.

There is a lot of money out there against her because they don't want her talking about the real problem. You can't legislate to improve the problem until everyone has it by the root.

Her whiteboard is deceptive. The PPI is rising faster than the CPI. This means that corporations wholesale costs are rising at a faster rate than the price tag they are placing on retail product. They're taking a loss. The rise in profits was due to COVID relief being passed among corporations.
Porter is horrible, a pure socialist that doesn’t have a clue about freedom or capitalism.
Katie Porter is a gem. I'm impressed every time I hear her speak. She's truly a good person working to better this world.
I love how she tackles issues head-on like a scientist. I am fed up with party lines. Party loyalty does not solve problems.

- For Pelosi as speaker of the house.
- For the Cares act, the biggest transfer of wealth.
- For "additional" money for Ukraine, or every bill that will put money into the military industrial complex.
- For the infrastructure bill, because why not vote on a bill Joe Manchin watered down and put more drilling in it?
She has a great impact by voting on her own like Pelosi and all other corporate democrats all the time.
I think we also need more Queer reps! Florida’s Board of Medicine for example, cut trans activists out of the meeting video for October 28ths meeting! On top of not letting us speak while we were there and cropping us out of ALL of their video footage. There needs to be action in the government to de-radicalize these bodies.

Jon, if Katie Porter doesn't win her race, you should keep having her on the show as, like, an economic consultant. You & her talking about economic policy was one of the most clarifying, understandable breakdowns of the subject that I've ever heard. I hope she wins, don't get me wrong, but, man, that was refreshing.

She does seem to care. She can perhaps direct you to resources if you are in her area. I’ll bet she can help you even if you aren’t in her area. Well there it is...I gave advice anyway. Good luck. He may not host the Daily Show any more, but he's been working so very hard to bring attention to a variety of super important topics for quite some time. Recently I read that Katie lives in the Irvine area of O.C California, she was a professor at the local large college in the area. She was granted a leave and an extension so she could fulfill her term in Congress. By the way this leave is without pay forfeiting a $200,000 plus salary. That in itself shows her commitment to her elected job
in Congress.
...and she does so in a way that is not patronizing or condescending. Well, unless she's grilling a crooked exec..... Katie is awesome.

I have worked in politics as an advisor and a Chief of Staff. She would be a demanding boss, for good. She is brilliant. Her team must launch out of bed every day. They would be proud of their boss and the work they do fighting for American families. If I wasn't an Australian, I would fly to Cali and work my arse of for this brilliant human.
If I was one of her staffers she'd have to hire someone to remind me to go to bed and to stop working once in a while to eat.
I've worked as a staffer for one of the longest serving progressives in the House and I can 100% say that I was excited to go to work every day.
