I've had to fix a 2006 330i, a 2014 VW CC, and a cobalt all with the same broken wire issue in the hinges. Why they gotta make these wires so damn weak?! lol good find, good fix.
I wish I had an answer for that. Like I said , the all data diagram didn't match the wire colors I had . I think that positive wire was is for the "trunk open" light . That's my best guess .
You do not pay for diagnosis and schematics, the owner does, if you do not want to add the full $25 to this bill, then spread out the fee to 2 or 5 cars and add it to the next 5 Caddys that you work on for this type that matches the schematics. CORRECT, you don't get that many Caddys so better only split the cost into 2. If the schematic covers the entire car, you are good, if it only covers what you ask for, lights and accessories then better charge this guy for everything. This is the actual purpose of the first hour of diagnosis fee, to HELP pay for subscriptions to MITCHELL or pay for daily access, that is the way it has been since the mid-1990s. If you are sold the entire vehicle schematic great, if you are the one to go in and pick and choose, then better make a plan for a list of priorities, and don't sleep tonight if you get 24-hour access for downloading, get your monies worth for sure. It's a trunk harness bro, always check all the 4 wires and do a TUG Test. How much money did GM charge for that fancy sheath that does not work as designed? Without the schematic you would have found the problem eventually, I am sure of it. Glad you are a Keith FAN. What is your copy of ALLDATA, a PDF or ???? and what portion of the schematic did you get for $20? What were the problems with the schematic, wrong wire colors ??? Thanks for the FIX.
That is why you take your car that someone knows what Thur doing instead of guessing!! Jon does do detective work and fix it right ..
Thank you, such a great feeling when you find the problem 💯
