- Here are in my opinion, a list of really good spells in the game. I'm sure I forgot some really nice spells, there are so many spells in the game. Hope you will enjoy the video !
I found the pics in the Internet and the music is :
1st - Tower town theme.
2nd - Sea theme from Heroes of might and magic 4.
3rd - 300 Violin Orchestra Fast Version.
Fly is an interesting spell, in-universe. Imagine seeing an entire army, thousands of monsters and soldiers, flying towards your city over a mountain
I never though about that, that must be very spectacular view :-)
There seems to be a gentleman agreement to always land the army outside the city and don't have the units without wings fly over the walls. And interestingly enough making two single goblins (Hero + 1 Goblin) fly is exactly as hard as making the population of a whole continent (as long as it fits into an army) fly.
That is exactly what happened to me yesterday and I decided to call it a day 😅
Step 1: Get expert earth magic
Step 2: ?
Step 3: Win the map
Step 2: Hope that Mage guilds won't troll you and give you that spell.

that secret spell is town portal of course :D
Under Expert Earth you can jump from town to town, resurrect any creatures to maintain your powerful army as durable as possible and also have the ability to make the most powerful attack spell devastating in your arsenal. Earth magic is broken. The best counterplay against this is to wear the Orb of Negation or Ring of Oblivion with the Shackle of War and with fairly enough Mighty Gorgons. The mentioned Orb and Ring can only be obtained in Horn of the Abyss unfortunately.

no contest, there's no other game in which magic feels as _magical_ as in homm3. spells of this game are absolute masterpiece of artwork, giving you the feeling of controlling the whole game with your mind.
In one game I made Malekith so strong that his implosion did over 10,000 damage (33-34 Ancient Behemoths, for example).
Damn. That should be at least 5months
Level 1- View Air and View Earth are among the most important spells for spying where your opponent is. Also, Mass Curse is brutal against low level armies.
I cant even describe how much valuable is View Air\ Earth, at expert you know exactly where the enemy towns are \ heroes.
1. Advanced and expert Bless also gives +1 dmg to max. So your gremlins damage from 1-2 become 3. Same logic for curse.
2. Shield is ok, but not one of the best spell.
3. Blind makes retaliation weaker (50%, 25%, 0%)
4. Visions is below average. In most cases it is easy to predict neutrals behaviour. As I remember it have some synergy with diplomacy, but even then its just meh.
5. No berserk. It's just the best spell in the game. At least at the same level as town portal or dimension doors.
6. Raise Dead is fine. And deserves to be in this list.
7. Summon elementals are also ok.

I like how in HOTA how if you are not on a water map you never see the water related spells. I always play on no water maps.
Now top 3 worst spells:
3. Scuttle Boat
2. Magic Mirror
1. Remove Obstacle (proudly sitting on the throne)
Scuttle boat is not useless (although I do wonder why anyone would need magic to set a wooden ship on fire). 🤔
What about Hypnotize? This spell is weak as hell.

40% chance to deflect Implosion isn't a bad thing
Quicksand is a rubbish spell as well
apart from Meteor Shower you actually added all the spells that I would have added as well oh and Berserk, I would definitely put that on the list :D

I dont use it I preffer slow blind chain and implosion dont have time to use it .Is it good?
Expert Bersek is OP Spell.
expert berserk is pretty OP it turn all units in a 19 hex radious hostile toward any creature closest to them, so basicly cast it at the beginning of the battle amongst the enemy units and they will start attacking each other
if your talking about meteor shower, it is like a weaker implosion with a 5 hex area effect

I like the Slayer one as well. But Slow and Haste are really crucial and especially helpful from the very start of the game.
Honestly I rarely use slow and haste to make my units move further/enemies move fewer tiles. I almost always use those spells in order to gain the advantage of first strikes, especially useful if you have an army with many ranged units, it's really nice to get those first hits in before the enemy is allowed to use any units. Generally I prefer mass slow on expert level, because it makes it more likely for my archers to get two hits before any melee engages happen, whereas with haste, I am still forced to attack early with my melee units instead of waiting for the enemy to approach.
True, slow is better versus PVE. But in PVP, haste is best. Either way theyre both awesome on situation

I played homm 5 a little bit, I don't know if I have enough knowledge about that game to make videos about it.

Eh. It’s handy early on with Solmyr, but the damage doesn’t scale fast enough to keep up with how powerful the buffs are.

Roger Gurman It’s a good spell but not one of the best I would add berserk instead..
It gets some bonuspoints for looking cool.
Berserk is a great spell. Chain Lightning and Meteor Shower are also good damage spells. Necromancers Rise Undead is really strong spell too.
Town portal.... not one of the best... THE best ! Mainly when you play in very difficult and impossible difficulty. And then : Slow, Bless and Prayer, at the master level, of course ;)

While I do agree that Shield is an awesome buff, I DON'T think that Basic Shield was exactly a reason why that Troll steamrolled that Master Genie... : )

No view air or view earth . Its great mapscanner and easiest tool to find enemy castles and grail
Raise Dead. You missed it. Very usefull for necromancer castle

Raise dead / resurrection are the same
Slow and haste are not just about making units faster/slower. Its about to play with your slower unit each turn before ur enemies faster units.
Town specific as well like for fortress you almost need haste but something like dungeon has the black dragons scorpicores so it might be better to just slow the enemy. Good catch tho
Mass slow + Golden Bow or Bow of the Sharpshooter + 3 ranged stacks = killer combo :)
Wont work against Dragogeddon...

What're the titles of the tracks in the background?
Shield or stone skin? Every time I go to cast one of these I wonder which one gives the higher advantage. Assume expert earth for both.
shield scales better , -30% melee dmg received is no joke . Expert stone skin gives 6 def , meh .

Each defense point reduces damage by 5% if the enemy has more attack than your defense, and by 2,5% if you have more defense than your enemy's unit attack.
If your unit have less defense than the enemy unit has attack, 6 defense is -30% damage recieved, which makes stone skin better (shield doesn't affect ranged attacks).
If you already have more defense it only gives 15%, which makes shield overall better.
shield is better but works only for meele(reduce meele damage -30%) , but if you expect some distance damage too you should use stone skin spell which is universal because just increase your defence points, there is also air shield spell which give you more protection but work only for distance atacks

As in 5% then 4.75% and so on
Cause if not then that would make any unit with 20 or 40+ def immune to damage which is obviously not the case
Yes, the 5% is multiplicative, so having 40 defense more than the attacker has attack will "only" block 87% of damage (and the 10% isn't really a -10% on final damage but it removes a +10% base damage bonus from the attacking creature).
Shield remains better than stone skin against anything that is not an archer
No cure/dispel when you have blind and foregetfulness?

Movement spells are must have for any hero, but I prefer to ban them because usually are map-breakers.

Man, you must realise that game is based on reality. In anciant times there were really heroes who were using that movement spells and there was no way to ban them. Their enemies probalby didn't like it but that is how life works

What do u mean? Pls clarify. You press C for cast spell. The book has 2 types of spell. Adventure map spell and battle spell. Left side page of book and at the bottom , you can find map spell and batyle spell
How many spells can you put on the same stak of monsters? (haste, bless, prayer, shild, stoneskin, counterstrike, blind, etc.)
5 stack but i dnt know any beyond 5 buff/ debuff

To your question, I didn't find it. Since I already finished the map, I unlocked all the spells just to use fly and dimension door only to demonstrate for this video.

What about Meteor Shower and Chain Lightning
With the Expert Haste with Armor of the Damned Combo armor and Orb of Negation makes Dragons look bad for their magic resist.

Where is the chain lightning? 😀 You can use the chain lightning artifact which protects you from lightning spells and doesen't harm your creatures

Good list, but you forgot several great spells: Magic Arrow, Cure, Dispel, Curse, Quicksand, Animate Dead, Teleport, Meteor Shower, Chain Lightning, Berserk and Sorrow. Water Walk can also be great on island maps. But most important of these are probably Animate Dead and Berserk.
berserk is the OP of all spells in combat. No question about that.

Animated death is broken for necromancers, death ripple also, chain lightning and beserk
Death ripple is only handy early on, it doesn't scale up in damage enough to be useful after the first 2 weeks of game play

Easy: Against AI i only need town portal and a super hero. Against humans there are a lot of useful spells, but the most important: Mass slow, Mass haste, Blind, Mass bless.
Why not mass prayer? You get multiple bonuses at once and often steal the initiative.
Slow and Haste are just gamechanging, even tho they are easy to aquire.
Great video but i think, that in 4th level, there should be more offensive spells live chain lighting or meteor shower because they are crucial to the early game (on 200%) to kill... something
By the time you manage to buy 4th level mage guild it is no longer early game, besides not all towns even have 4th l evel mage guild.
And what when your enemy have recanter's cloak? Good thing for stronghold and fortress :p
@@VersusARCH if your hero has it as a specialty though it does get pretty crazy how easy you blast through the build up month or 2 which is good for players like me that are impatient and usually play the 8 town maps.

@@feiamw2751 you can use it when there's a strong enemy unit and near another enemy unit. You can get expert fire and cast berserk in some area.

Dispel is worse than cure. Cure works only for your army, while mass-dispel dispels everyone in the battle :/.

Where is the most powerfull spell in a game (againist might heroes) - berserk?
Yeah this one could be the best sometimes but its all depends on the army type , items of your oponent, or the positioning troops on the battlefield, sometimes berserk could be the best sometimes doesnt work, also armagedon, implosion, haste, slow, chain lightning, blind, resurection, curse, bless
Armageddon is pointless unless you have Mass Protection from Fire
@@leafsfanforever2896 For Armageddon you need to have the fastest unit to be the first to act on the battlefield.
Phoenixes are the fastest units in the game and protected by fire.
That way you always start the battle with armageddon, win and move on.
Chainlightning
You should have made some kind of a TOP10... This way it's not interesting, it just seems like some random tutorial on practically ALL even marginally useful spells.
Also, it's tough to compare battle to adventure spells... it's completely different.
My TOP5 battle spells:
1. Berserk
2. Prayer
3. Slow
4. Haste
5. Blind
Whereas out of the adventure spells Town Portal kicks ass... Then Dimension Door and Fly, in that order.
I think it would be difficult to put all best spells in order, so I decided to do the best 3-5 spells for each level.
I personally think the best battle spells are Haste, Slow and Blind, as you can get access to them pretty quickly and they stay useful throughout the game.
Roko Škrabić I'd say in most cases haste is a way better spell than prayer, since prayer is hard to get and costs more for just an attack bonus.

Yes, relatively speaking, Haste is better. But absolutely... Prayer is obviously stronger.

clicked on this link only to say - before anyone says anything - that Dimension Door and Town Portal are not the best spells in the game but the most cheating spells in the game. Not fly, not mass slow / haste / whatever, not blind, not berserker, clone, resurrection or any other spell. DD and TP are the spells that break the game, and if those 2 spells are not allowed Heroes 3 does indeed become a strategy game like it was meant to be in the 1st place. So, yeah.... I can go watch the video now, and see what OP thinks are the best spells

PVE games best spell; BERSERK!
I wanted to put it in the list , I even made a short video about it but I forgot ..
all Earth spells are tediously overpowered. Fire and Water spells are somewhat underwhelming. Needs balancing.
I know they already havw artifacts but they need to mod the game with new spell that does mass slow and mass haste at same time
Casting mass slow is pretty much the same as mass haste. Technically. It's all situational. I'd rather slow down opposing heroes if their attacking in a siege. But having them cast mass slow and haste, is kinda useless especially if the other hero has expert despell.
Stone skin is better than shield
Nope. Shield protects you 30% total damage output of melee only. Stoneskin protects you all types damage type with %. Like 1 hero def has 1% def resistance to all types attack. Shield is better bcoz most troops are melee. Stoneskin gives u 5 def rating to units
