Caldera is honestly one of the coolest characters imo. His whole concept is intriguing as hell. A vet that is secretly a gateway into the criminal underworld. Ive always had a fascination with the “odd job” protagonist. The main character who has a strange of complicated profession/side job and Caldera fits that. I also like how tired and gruff he appears and how he was one of the few “normal” characters not intimidated by Nacho as he very coldly told him never to contact him again.
The thing I love most about Caldera is that his veterinary practice is not a front!! Like, he genuinely loves the animals he's helped and cared for. You get the feeling that this side hustle pays for the big bills, but that he';s just so much happier helping and caring for the animals he sees. He just strikes me as a good hearted, kind soul. Maybe not the most honest man in the world, but a good man. It really calls back to Mike's philosophy. You can be a good man, but a slick criminal.... or even a straight shooter with a cold heart. The dichotomy for which allows the show to explore the complex nature of good and evil.

I think "gives," might be the wrong word here. He either sells it to Jimmy, Jimmy steals it, or Caldera goes on a trip to Balize due to some fuckup with the cartel and Jimmy happily swipes the book that's been left behind. I mean seriously, who in this series has actually "retired," alive?

The book costs $20K and there's $100K cash sitting in Kim's bedroom closet right now, from Lalo. I assumed they just buy it soon. Jimmy says he wants it for "passive income" and he has all those contacts in BB.
I am completely on board with the whole Kim having Ed "disappear" her when whatever happens happens.
