Just modeled a center console for my car (kinda large, size is 14"x10"x6"). 3d scanned everything and imported the scans into fusion 360. Makes the design process way easier. Check out the Einstar scanner, definitely the best for the price right now ($1000). It does require reflective marker stickers but really easy to use. I sold my 3d printer a few years ago and just get everything professionally printed though Xometry....very pricey! For example, My console design FDM 3d printed with ASA is $600. Their HP MultiJet Fusion printing has amazing results. Made a carbon fiber forging mold out of the Nylon 12 HP MJF and the mold was so smooth and insanely strong. No layer lines at all. The carbon fiber part was stuck in the mold (my bad design) and I was trying to break it apart, hitting it with a hammer and everything, was not breaking! I had to cut it apart with a band saw! Their SLS Nylon 12 3d printing is very nice too. No layer lines either....but HP MJF is cheaper for large items up to 14"x11"x11" build volume (280mm x 280mm x 355mm). Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3d print out of Nylon 12 for my center console was quoted at $1,117...so yeah not really good for large parts but for smaller stuff the price isn't too bad.
Awesome sleeper dash cover. Saves you a lot of worries considering your vehicle getting broken into. I can't believe the number of idiots out there that will break a door window on an unlocked vehicle to steal a Zune let alone a tablet. I would mount a dash cam in the dome light that will activate and live feed you when your vehicle is entered. Sometimes, I would consider a concealed carry, a tazer, and mace as great things to add into my vehicle. Once my cellphone. Is alerted ghost pepper spray would fog down and a tazer would deploy from the floor boards targeting them in the gonads. Something like a Johnny Knoxville Cocktail.
I was also thinking of installing a co2 cartridge powered blowgun behind the dash with a horse tranquilizer used by many wildlife agencies. My thoughts can go inhumane so quick.😁
I'm wondering if using a budget DIY "Flocking" kit might be easier, quicker, and get better results than trying to chemically smooth the prints? With a little fine tuning of the dimensional tolerances it might even work as a replacement for the neoprene pieces.
Hey brother which iPad would u recommend is the best easiest size to use for everyday use or do they all seem to work the same what I mean is does the smaller iPad kit work easier to load unload iPad than the bigger iPad kit u sale so I will know which one to order from you thanks for your time.
Hey, I saw your version 1 video and was wondering if I could buy the design for the lower console to help with a personal project of mine. I can't find any download links on your website for it.
Did you delete the A/C vent and have you tried making a kit to fit a 10” android touchscreen? How can I purchase the kit to swap the ac controls to the bottom. Please send me the link and wanted to let you know that it looks great
So I’ve read other comments and I know you say it doesn’t fit an 01 Silverado. I have a 03-07 center console setup in my 99 and also the 03-07 dash bezel for the radio. What reasoning will it not fit? Is it just because the way the center consoles are and dash bezel? If so since I have the newer configuration in my 99 I should be all set correct?
If you have swapped to the 03-07 radio cluster bezel and full center console, it will work. The 03-07 bezel is longer on the right side where the radio and climate control is as opposed to the 99-02, and this kit fits perfectly with the 03-07. I did the same thing in my 02, and am looking to get this kit as soon as designs come out for Galaxy tablets. I have a tab S8+. 😎
Just working on making some improvements to the product and production process, there is an email sign up on the website, I will make sure to send an email when they are for sale again!
Sorry for the late reply! There are already great solutions out for that, some even offer cup holders! Plus some of them are way cheaper than what I would be able to make them for! Just an example: www.amazon.com/Single-Storage-Universal-Black-Holder/dp/B07S2K94LK I searched for "Single Din Radio Storage"
Hey! It will fit 2003-2006 GM 1500-3500 trucks The lower console only fits if you have a center console not the work truck bench seat Thanks for watching!
@@marcosmunoz9910 I tried to see if it was something I could easily do in AutoCAD today and I would have to redesign and test a lot of the components sorry
These are the types of projects that I bought my 3D printer for. Subscribed!
Awesome! Thanks!
Looks awesome! I could never take that much time to figure all those angles out!
Haha thanks!
Yes that looks so clean. Thank you for putting it for sale, ill definitely buy one!
Thanks!
Are there any that keeps the air vent in place. If so how soon would it be availed or an iPad mini? Thanks in advance.
Is there anyway you could release the stls to print this since you no longer sell it?
The Dash Kit STL Files are now available, linked in the description! Thanks for watching!

I got the CR Lizard Scanner a few months ago but still haven't opened the box 😅
Please tell me you can still make this? I wanna buy one for my truck
He has the file on his site so you can buy it and have someone local to you print it.

🤔 I had no idea that even existed, thanks!
Can you do a full install video, step by step. Really considering buying the kit just need to know how to install. Thank you
How much would it be if you made me a center console for the ac controls and radio just like your version 2.0 along with a vent cover
I love this and will be purchasing
Thank you! 😀

Hey! I will not be selling the designs for the kit, thanks for watching!
Still available?
Any way we could get the STL’s since they’re no longer for sale? I’d like to make a couple modifications to fit a smaller iPad
Yes, the STL files are linked in the description, thanks for watching!
@@LucasBuildsStuffjust to be completely sure here it’s on your website with the $15 usd tag right?
lucasbuildsstuff.com/products/ipad-tablet-adapter-kit-2003-2007-chevrolet-gmc-trucks-stl-files
Checked out your website, product is no longer available?
Unfortunately I will no longer be selling the kit
Hey what’s up that’s is awesome I’m interested in the set up for the radio and ac controllers if u still sell them. How would I place ordr
Thank you! I partnered with Modd3d and they will be handling the kit, link in the description!
@@LucasBuildsStuff I tried to place order and not letting order go threw.
I spoke with Modd3d and should be fixed now!
Now I got to find somewhere to print that any idea where I could get that done at?
Most major cities will have a "makerspace", maybe you can convince someone to print it for you there, otherwise you could try hubs.com 🤔
@@LucasBuildsStuff thank u for the quick reply I'll look into it
How much for this kit?
Do you sell the file I’m looking into buying a printer Thanks
No, but a good website to check out for files is thingiverse!
Bro I would totally buy one of these for my truck!
Thanks! 😃
For sure. If you sell a kit, I can take out my expensive @ss Kenwood DD and put this in. Sweet custom work.

Yes, the Huawei T5 is 10.1 inches, unfortunately the kit is not longer for sale, thank you!
Right on brotha!
Website going to come back online anytime soon?
Hopefully by the end of the weekend 🤞
How can I purchase that kit?
The files are available on my website and if you need it 3d printed there are services like JLC3DP 🙂
This will fit a 2001 silverado? Sorry is it’s a dumb question I just want to make sure
Hi, unfortunately it will not!
So this dash bezel there’s no body filling or bondo required
No putty required, you just need to hand sand the kit if you don't like the 3d printed finish.
Thanks for watching! 😀
So I just have to cut it
I’ll be ordering one next week
For the Tablet/iPad holder you need to cut the bezel
For the lower console radio/HVAC mount you need to extend the wires
Awesome thanks! 😃

Hi, unfortunately I haven't tested it on retrofitted interiors and won't be able to give you a definitive answer

I'm assuming that they won't fit a 2001 suburban?
Unfortunately it will not
So after checking the links, they show sold out. Do I have to wait for them to make more to place an order or are they not making them anymore?
Just working on making some improvements to the product and production process, there is an email sign up on the website, I will make sure to send an email when they are for sale again!
Is there really any way I could buy this as a lit
Thanks! Links in the description! 😃

Unfortunately the kit is no longer for sale sorry
Do you make any tablet mounts for the lower console portion?
I don't, wouldn't that be a small tablet?
@Lucas Builds Stuff yes, not really looking to use it as a radio but more for gps/music
Where could I purchase this kit at?!
Hey! Links in the description! 😃
Approximate time of sales?
I partnered with Modd3d and they will be handling the kit, link in the description!
Locas can you sell the 3d model
Unfortunately not at this time 😕
Would you be able to turn the bottom radio cutout into a cubby for an extra fee?
Sorry for the late reply! There are already great solutions out for that, some even offer cup holders! Plus some of them are way cheaper than what I would be able to make them for! Just an example: www.amazon.com/Single-Storage-Universal-Black-Holder/dp/B07S2K94LK
I searched for "Single Din Radio Storage"
Do you make these for 03-07 ford f250?
Hi, not at this time, although I do have many requests for many different vehicles and hope to get to them all in the future
Do you have one for the iPad pro 12.9?
Yes we do 🙂
Where can I get one of these kits
Will it fit in a single cab
Hey! It will fit 2003-2006 GM 1500-3500 trucks
The lower console only fits if you have a center console not the work truck bench seat
Thanks for watching!
Could you make the bottom section for a double din radio instead of a single din radio?
There wouldn't be any room for the climate controls, you could look at doing a flip out single din
@@LucasBuildsStuff I was planing on extending the cables and have them inside the center console, only reason I asked.
