I used a cheap Acer tablet. It has 32 GB, movies and stuff. Since is cheap, it doesn't have 4G or GPS, but it is enough for me. I will install later a OBDII bluetooth adapter to use torque.

My car is a 3000GT1998, so the OBDII was at its early stages so some sensors are not available and the refresh rate for the speedometer isn't the best. Still, I got great fun with it. Now I have to check the power for the tablet because when is connected, noise fills the audio.

Fortunately I was able to keep the Momo steering wheel and now I still have it on display in my flat in Germany. One time I tried to change the car radio and I still remember all the weird wiring. So many different color cables. Wasn’t able to find the right adapter though. Awesome video guys! Still get butterflies in my stomach every time I see a Legacy 😢❤️

The bane of manufacturers as retro fitting extends the life of the vehicle and reduces new sales. That is why cars are now being "Big Brother" monitored by the car ECU for any components disturbed and require syncing (telling the Dealer) to reset and punish/deter you with a dealer charge.
I remember in my very old parents car we had a cassette player. Then it got so you could put a cassette in with an aux cable. Sure it use to crackle as soon as you turned the volume above 10 but it was the best thing since sliced bread at the time!
It's not that hard if you have ever installed radios into cars before. I did this in my explorer but went a few steps further. I installed my iPad so It can be removed and also connected it to my rear headrest screens. The whole set up cost me about 300 including the iPad. They left out a few things you would need though. You will need a ground loop interface, to keep from hearing the humming while your driving and charging the iPad. You are going to need a program, or jail broken iPad so you can change sleep/wake up time, swipe commands, and short cut keys like 3 finger tap you pause music. I jail broke my iPad to remap the commands e.g, charging= wake and play, not charging when the key is removed=stop and lock. I mean it's really easy and fun. Just make sure you draw out your ideals so you know all the extra parts and pieces you will need. The whole job took me about 2 hours. I wish I could show you pictures. It looks pretty sweet.

He said in the video that the battery is blown, so it doesn't hold charge, meaning that when you turn on the car the iPad begins charging and turns on.. and when you turn the car off the iPad shuts off because the battery didn't hold any charge... it just runs on the power from the car battery
I appreciate the comedy value, but there should really be a disclaimer in there. DO NOT destroy your factory head unit unless you are certain that you'll never be selling the car.

As they stated in the video it had a busted battery and they were using that as a pro since it would power down when u turn the key off and turn on with the car. Even if the ipad wasnt charging it stays on because theres phantom voltage through the charger.

My first car in 2005 was a 1989 Nissan Pulsar had a cassette player already installed inside with a removable front plate so people would not steal the radio, did not stop them though...LOL T-Tops and a removable backhatch...that car was bad ass.
