Years ago before 3D printing was as popular as it is now i looked into possibilities. As an installer myself I thought one day installers will just be printing dashkits.
Ive used lazer to cut out ABS for speaker mounts ect. But heating and bending to make any detailed part it difficult.
These new resen pronters have amazing resolution and the possibilities are endless.
Ive built so many things for people from gauge pods, cluster overlays, toggle panels, dash kits, tablet and ipad slides, USB HUBs and other things to replace ashtray slots.
Its awesome we have the tools and tech to make anything we want without CNC tooling. It amazing habing the deaign power we do now. But I still hand you credit because you where the pioneer of the i-pad slider!

By using 4 of the mini kits U'd save Yrself alot of cutting and trimming. Plus U wdn't have to fill the hole in the center as there would not be one.

Dude, I totally agree that it would take a good amount of investment to produce a propper mould for this kit, but you can start with a cheap one, ordered from China, to get the ball rolling. With propper marketing, you are going to make a killing with this. It is absolute rubbish that 3 people are going to order the kit. There are 7 billion on the planet, and with the proper marketing, you can make money with absolutely anything. With this type of product, you can become a multimilionaire. Your YT channel would be enough to get you off the mark if you are not willing to outsourse marketing, but this is the easiest part.
The problem is not that there is a lack of demand. In the USA alone this will break the bank. The problem is that it takes a lot of hassle to put a business together if you don't have the balls and the experience. I am also pretty sure that you will easily find people willing to invest, and you are probably already getting proposals. Great stuff! Keep up the good work :)
You should try to figure out a way to use the smart connector when you dock it.

Am I the only one wanting to modify that little radio you have to drop a 4" coax into it?
Just a tip for anyone (not Doug of course, he's a legend) cutting out parts for a project like this. Before you cut an expensive piece too small, cut out a sacrificial piece of material (whatever scrap you have lying around), get the saw adjusted perfectly, then cut your final expensive piece.

This isn't a criticism but, when you use your ban saw the guard should be an 8th of an inch from the work and the side pins should be as close to the blade as possible. This way the blade stays true and doesn't swim away from a straight line. Not sure if you already know this but I figured I would mention it.
