This guy is literally caring for dinosaurs in his yard. They're so cute.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So cute til they attack you. Emus are are arseholes.
@@jimajams7080 they haven't attacked these people tho
I like when people film treating animals sometimes it helps me figure out what to do if something similar occurs and I can deal with it safely without freaking out.
I agree.
DEFINITELY.
Also good if you need to send pics or video to your vet so s/he can diagnose something.
This x a gazillion.
Yes!
I just love bamboo. That look on his face when he wants cuddles is priceless.
I love their emus as well! I may post some videos of mine sometime
I couldn’t agree more!! His sock diapers were the cutest thing❣️
I remember when my emu named Oliver jumped the fence into the neighbors yard, he was very spooked, and the neighbor freaked out, which totally didn't help. I climbed over the fence and tried to calm Oliver down, while herding him toward a field where he'd be less likely to get hurt. As I'm trying to get the emu out of the neighbor's yard, as she was demanding, she started threating me with a shotgun. I was only 12, and luckily got the emu and myself the heck out of there. Later my Dad and brother were able to catch Oliver and get him safely back home. The neighbor had called the cops, so it made it extra difficult on my Dad. Sometimes people have less sense than critters.
On aside note, I used to have a pet iguana named Peekaboo.
I have neighbors like that! 😁
I used to have a neighbor that kept an emu in like a 10x20 enclosure. The bird got so crazy and violent, they could no longer feed it or get close to it without it getting aggressive. They tried to sell it, but no one that raised Emu's wanted anything to do with it, or to have it anywhere close to their other Emus, Finally animal services had it put down. It was so sad.
@@creech444 That is very sad. That wouldn't be a good situation for an emu, they need space to move around. I used help raise emu chicks as a kid and they were my buddies. I could walk right up to Oliver and give him a hug. How someone handles and treats an animal determines it's level of trust in them, aggressive behavior is often (though, not always) a mirrored response, and is very difficult to work beyond.
@@Idaho-Cowboy Some people just don't get animals one of them is your neighbours.
What kind of crazy person threatens a child with a shotgun?
I hate that about places like U.S. guns being legal its really a problem since not everyone has emotional intelligence and maturity.
Those poor babies must've been so scared to have run through the fences like that. So glad they're both safe and that they have you guys to take such good care of them.
Something is spooking them silly. It may not be completely thunder and or mammals. Pending where ya live and proximity to geo structures, even minor earthquakes and volcano pre stuff can make yhem jumpy if they can sense that stuff. My one bro' s cat seems to be on the ball when ones going through near that way.
The emu will be okay. I live in the Bush in Australia and these birds are tough as guts mate. Glad it worked out and the Emu is where it should be.
Have you ever considered making a bigger yard and bigger houses for the emus? Your place looks amazing! Wish I can one day do something similar...until then I'll get ideas from your set up
For people that own emus in Aus (for meat and oil) their fences are at least twice as tall, and they have so much more space to live in. Also, the fences are usually the big metal ones that are welded to the posts.
I guess since they're commercial businesses, they know the best way to keep an emu inside a fence?
My mum's pet emus were the same. Huge space to roam, with high wooden fences. If the fence is low, they will try to scale it. Maybe that's how they hurt their necks, trying to climb the fence in panic. Emu are highly strung.
Look into paintball netting for your aviary. It has to withstand high speed projectiles. So it should be sturdy enough to keep your birds safe.
I was going to say they need to put up some sort of netting to protect them and possibly put up the electric fence especially during the storm season.
They could tangle in netting. Birds die often from getting stuck in it because they panic.
@@Something-Somes they wouldn’t be using netting for the atrium if it wasn’t “safe”. You might want to look up what paintball netting is and then rest assured if they go that route they would know how to properly attach it so the birds don’t panic and “get stuck”.
@@lilymullen5418 I know what paintball netting is. Its not the proper stuff to use. They need steel mesh for what they want to do with the atrium. That is what is used in zoos. I have cared for exotic animals before and I have friends that were avid paintballers that used the netting all the time. The only thing paintball netting may be good for with enclosures is too keep out leaves and stuff from falling in. Or maybe get the ghillie netting for making shade.
@@Something-Somes I think the paintball netting you think we’re talking about is the wide gap stuff there’s this very tightly woven kind you can get almost what’s used for kevlar also ghillie netting would be way, way worse! You have all the loose dangly bits and whatnot for them to get tangled in.
I know you love all three emus but if Bamboo and Cashew are the mated pair you want to go with, having Peekaboo so close is probably stressing all of them out. Could be why there weren't any eggs their first season too. Adult emus need a LOT of space. Their enclosure was fine two years ago when they were adolescents, but an adult emu needs enough space in their enclosure to be able to get up to full speed with a run. Their current enclosure is adding to their stress levels as it's too small for them to run in now.
I'm not trying to be critical. You obviously love your birds and are trying your best with them. But perhaps re-addressing the idea of rehoming Peekaboo and giving Bamboo and Cashew a bigger adult enclosure is the way to go.
I love You White House On The Hill And I Hope Bamboo Is Doing Great Best Of Luck!❤️
Bamboo is doing well, thank you
❤️
Can't wait for your emus to have babies 🤩🤩🤩 And i know that feeling when you see your animal injured.. It sucks 😢.. but I'm glad they are doing great 😊♥️
@@whitehouseonthehill yes bamboo is great but white house on the hill I need your number please /I love you channel very very much I subscribed you channel but one problem please give your number 😢
@@muhammadumair2498 yes that will be great 😊👌💓
They probably need a bigger area. Glad all is okay
They don't have enough space. I've never seen anyone here in Australia keep emus in such a small enclosure. The bloke down the road has 5 running on a 3 acre paddock and he has normal stock fencing, and no problems with them escaping.
Exactly, their content...
Theres two other channels I watch that have Emus. One channel just has one Emu an although it’s locked up in a smaller enclosure then what bamboo is in an he is with other birds like chickens, ducks, peacocks & turkeys. They let him out in the mornings an put him back up in the evenings. So the emu gets to free range all day (unless they have somewhere to go obviously). He’s very very friendly too! The other channel I watch has a couple of them but they have a fairly big enclosure. My guess is it’s probably two to three times the size of bamboos an has some other animals in with it like a cow, male goat an male donkey. He moves his Emus around every couple months to different fenced in areas of his property so they aren’t always in the same one.
@@Weeks25 Thats the whole idea, to let them out and roam the property than back in at nite. Their too large to be stuffed in a Tiny inclosure...
The editing is always on point.
You might want to reach out to someone with more Emus or more experience with them. I know Foxfeather Zenkova (yes, that's really her name) of Foxloft Studios Farm has at least a half-dozen Emus and has had several successful breeding pairs.
This is what i was thinking.. They either need to learn more or rehome them. I dont mean it meanly but this just showed them what they have isnt enough for WORST case scenario.
In my own opinion you should need a large enclosure for the to run around. all they need is space and the other female can stay in their last enclosure.
Yes they need to be on a field or At least a very large enclosure
Heyo, recommending to use additional soft netting with smaller holes for the emus, it seems as if they were trying to stick their head in between the iron fencing
I wonder if a predator got into the enclosure. That follows with two emus flipping out at the same time.
It’s possible
That was my first thought as well
Where emus are from (Australia) they have no natural predators because they will fight anything. Although because these have been raised in a domestic setting they probably haven’t learned that from their “parents”
@@nevaeha4048 Fascinating. I didn't know that!
I remember when he hatched 🥺🥺🥺🥺
You could try putting a trail cam out to monitor what’s going on at night.
Thunder can really spook some critters. Hope all get better. Bill
Seems that was the case
Poor babies, sending healing wishes for the emus... and calming thoughts for you guys!
Oh no. Poor babies! Bamboo is probably one of the sweetest emus I have ever seen! It would be heartbreaking if anything ever happened to him! I'm glad y'all were able to get him before he got into any more trouble! Hopefully peekaboo heals all the way!
Well this was some serious Emu Drama. Enormous and very strong bird that is also very hard-headed. This equates a potential for lots of drama. Due to your diligence is no doubt the reason there is not alot more drama. I like seeing the treatments of the animals and birds. And we all love Bamboo so we wanted to see his terrible wound and the excellent care he got.
Are you guys planning a bigger area for the emus? They are such big birds, they must need more room than that. It has to be like living in a walk in closet for them.
They have said in the past that they are going to expand for them :)
Hate to say it but maybe it is time to rehome Cashew, give Bamboo and PeekABoo some more room and less stress.
Yea
Did I see some tears while u were hugging bamboo?!!! U r too sweet and kind
Maybe time to change the type of fencing to something that wouldn't harm them or having the potential of them getting stuck in? I remember you had similar incident when your lovely turkey died 😟❤️
Pretty sure the turkey died in a much different fencing/situation
@@Mlv2123 Yep it did, was net fence. But the holes in my opinion were too wide just like here. Just saying there is better options.
@@Mlv2123 I did say (similar) tho not the same.
Y’all are such a awesome team as a couple and family ❤️❤️❤️
glad Bamboo and peek a boo are okay.
I know that you are out of room for more babies, but I recommend on getting some Call ducks. Thank goodness that Bamboo isn't that hurt.
Glad you were able to get your emu back! Love the mix of story time, vlogging, and working time.
Emus travel huge distances in the wild, so it's very sad to see them trapped in such a small enclosure. If you're going to keep them you should be providing them with at least a couple of acres and room to actually run, not a tiny pen.
Agreed. I recall when they first moved here they said this enclosure was temporary... so sad to see they're still being kept in such a small space.
A small enclosure is ok when they're young but as they mature, they do need space. My parents had emus and one escaped, it was scary, she was found by a farmer who put a rope around her neck and tied her to the barn. But they got her back. It's useful to train them to follow you, then when they get out, they follow you home.
I’m so happy bamboo and the others are okay!
I think Bamboo is the most beloved animal in this family! I just love him so one!!!!🤣😂😂..
Y’all need to make something a little more secure for them
I'm glad you film these things. I love to see your adventures! Not everything that happens on the farm is sunshine and rainbows. It's good to see it all.
I was doing research on chickens and found this channel and haven't stopped watching them since I watch atleast 1 video a day you guys are amazing ily
Thank you, we appreciate it!
Man you ppl have such good hearts thx for taking care of nature and animals
I think the puppy wanted to go for a walk.
They really need more space there wouldn’t be any of the problems they’ve had if they had more space
Agreed but I am sure they are working on it.
Mine have 2 acres and thay still fight i have had to separate them. So not quite true .but it might improve some issue .
Wow! That must have been so scary. Glad everyone is back safely and healing up!
Another day at the hill farm!!
Will you be adding bedding or wood chips to the aviary inside for the guineas? I'd think it'd be of comfort to the birds but also better for clean up ....
I want to recommend 2 products to treat wounds. The first is Blue Kote. It's a spray which for some a little scary. The other is Equine Relief. It's a lotion. It doesn't sting or stain. I've used them on everything from my kids to chickens and even horses. But they're great additions to your farm medical kit.
I love the way bamboo cuddles
You guys care so much for them! Way to go.
Bamboo is the reason I subscribed. I'm so glad he's ok. He's such a sweet soul.
This is so scary to happen! I hope all your emu’s are safe along with everyone else 😊
Emus like other animals walk long distances. Imagine living in a tight space like that, I would also be frustrerad at my friends and try to escape. I love your videos and watch every video. I just wanted to say that they should really get some exercise or a bigger pasture to really help them live a good and healthy life.
I agree with this comment! I'm from Australia and Emus migrate all over the country, long large distances. They also love to run, and can run superrr fast. Kind of sad seeing them in such a small area :/
dont go to the zoo or sea world, its filled will animals in small environments.
@@repurposedart9897 yeah I've never liked those places. It's more exciting seeing animals in the wild ❤️🐃
Love the videos guys!! Glad Bamboo is ok. Keep up the great work.
I do not have a farm nor will I ever have a farm, True I know nothing about farm life but I can see you keep things extremely clean. I watched a couple of your videos now and wow I’ve learned so much about these birds so far I will continue to watch. You have a beautiful family beautiful property. Thank you for teaching as you go I just love this!
they need bigger runs to lower the stress :/ the emu's at a family theme park i worked at they just kept escaping and hurting themselves every single time in the doing so. only thing that solved it was to put them in bigger paddocks. also they switch out for chain link fencing (anti deer fencing) because you can hook it to ticker more robust poles, it's also harder for them to kick it free and escape.
hope this helps
Please give them more space. They are getting crazy in that tiny pen. Give them a bigger enclosure. Poor animals.
Poor animals? This family goes Above & Beyond taking care of God's creations
Running a farm & raising a young family

Wow that was a definite scare!! You guys are amazing with all the animals!
I am so glad he is back and safe. Breeding season is rough! I love Bamboo. 💘
How scary 😦. And Becky ...! You just don’t quit ! Both of you give so much to your family and farm. It’s really motivating to see. ❤️
So glad all is well. It’s scary when they get out.
I hope each new day brings closer Bamboo and peekaboo to a full and speedy recovery
Thank God you saw him!! They are so beautiful!
Love the animals, your stories and adventures with us and the awesome video editing! Keep up the good work!
Wow! What an ordeal! So glad they are back in the pens. A lot of work keeping up with your flocks.
What a journey bamboo had. Man the twins dislike each other 🤣. Hope peekaboo heals.
I am so glad that you insert words your sons say. Especially for older adults with some hearing issues. Way to go!
I think emus should have a bigger run and an access to the pond. Theyll love i!!!

God bless Becky! She keeps on going as her belly grows!
Thank god bamboo is safe
That had to be so stressful for family and emus. Glad they are all safe and sound.
Wow I bet that was scary! Poor things. Glad to know that everyone is back 1to normal and doing so well. I am impressed with how affectionate they are normally. Well done
Thank Goodness he is okay and healing wishes to Peek-A-Boo
I'm glad you got him back. Hope they don't panic like that again.
I hope he is okay
So glad everyone is safe 🥰 !

It’s been a while since Iv had a notification for you guys poor babies 🥺 talking of babies 🤗 congratulations I didn’t know you guys were expecting again Yeay ❤️ I’m gonna binge watch you Vlogs now and relax thanks for the fantastic content x
It's so hard to see any animal hurt. But it could have been so much worse. It's still made me teary.
Animals do what animals do. I've had horses and they did the strangest things you would think possible at times. When they get scared they panic. I feel for you it's so much responsibility and you have to think of everything it's over whelming. 😘
Just discovered ur channel and I’m obsessed 🤩
Glad it turned out as well as it did. That looked pretty scary.
:( I'm sorry this happened guys
Great work getting him back in! The sinking feeling when you notice you have an animal out is such an awful experience.
Bamboo being naughty emu want to wandering around 😂 im glad he didnt got hurt that bad and he just looking some new things around there maybe he want to do again the things when he was a youngster when you guys took him out side your farm
Thankfully my emus have never escaped! Enjoyed the video and checking in on yours
Thank god he’s ok ❤️ I was about to cry when he said that bamboo just dropped
I am so glad the Emus are okay! I adore Peek-a-boo and Cashew but I would be devastated if anything happened to Bamboo. I think everyone loves Bamboo. As a viewer, sometimes, people become emotionally invested in an animal they have never met. He is such a sweetie and it was so fun to watch him hatch and grow up over the years💗
They are one of the nobliest warriors this earth knew, it's so badass and awesome to have a farm of emu. If they've got a soccer team with only emus they could have a lot of chance to win a cup.
