Hutson reinbacher Guhle mailloux Xhekaj barron I think harris is either gonna be a better trade token, or a 7d. Sure there are others to consider, but at this point its mostly for injury depth and to cover the bases in laval
Hutson is a bigger prospect than Reinbacher. Ive watched more of Reinbacher than most, and i dont understand why he's a 5th overall pick, MAYBE in last years draft, but not in a offensive packed draft. Habs missed out BIG TIME, anyone can argue all they want, we will see in 3-5 years, EVERY TIME we see Leonard or Michkov tearing it up, we r gonna be like, ya we got reinbacher tho, he's very responsible defensively... I know u need D to win, but we already have a pretty good D core, without Reinbacher, (Guhle, Matheson, Kovacevic, Xhekaj, Barron, and Harris, (Plus A LOT of good guys coming up, Mailloux, Hutson, Struble, Engström, so what does management do?? Waste a 5th overall pick in a super offensively rich draft, on another defenceman), it's literally sickening, i want to throw up every time i think about it. Im super mad, but im not one of the idiots that would write to Reinbacher, and write bad shit to him, he didnt draft himself! lol, it's totally not the kids fault. Some Habs fans just take it too far. Now, if u want to talk about our offensive talent that's coming up, it's not near as rich! We have Beck, Mešár, Kidney, Roy, and Smilanic, That's all i can think of, and these players I just named, it's not a guarantee that they will even make it to the NHL, I can see MAYBE 2 of them becoming full time NHL'ers. But keep going with more D, maybe we should go for Karlson, he wants what? $12M, Might as well, if management is THAT sold that defense is going to win a cup, then why not go for the best of the best?? lol, even tho he's 244 years old. As soon as Caufield gets hurt, and if u've watched Slafkovsky at all, in the NHL, u'd know he is going to get caught with his head down again, and again, and again, and he will be gone. Then we have our scoring left up to Newhook, Suzuki, Dach, and Anderson. Even with Caufield, that doesn't cut it. Habs r FAR from even making the playoffs, years away. I started the off season thinking we were going to have Ryan Leonard, and PLD, instead we got Newhook, (another failing forward that management thinks MSL will perform miracles with), it seems like every move they've (Management) made is for this type of player, scraps, and it's not really working out, unless u count Dach's 12 goals, or 13 or even 14 whatever he had, unless u consider that working. That's the problem with us as Habs fans, we r too easily appeased, we just know the team's gonna suck, so when they do, ticket numbers dont go down like they would in a normal hockey market. Management DEFINITELY knows this, and Molson knows this, that's why we haven''t gone thru 6 gm's in the last decade. I think we've had more then 2 players hit 20 goals two times in the last ten years! Ten years!!! Not good enough, and Habs fans were pissed about Reinbacher, and now 90% of them are just fine with it. (Oh management explained it and it sounds right now! lol, NO! It's not ok, it fuckin sucked!!! Well they said it was a good pick, so it must be, so that's what im going to say now too. I PROMISE u Habs will regret this pick in less than 5 years, Just like when we took Kotkaniemi, drafting for position doesn't work out. Now every time we play Ottawa, and i see Tkachuk, who we could have drafted, but we drafted a center, because we needed centers at the time, well how'd that work out? Kotkaniemi hasn't broke the 20 goal mark, AND isn't even with the team anymore, and Tkachuk hasn't scored under 20 goals in his season, with last season being his best, (So far!), he had 35 goals, and 48 assists, that's 83 points, in 82 games, Kotkaniemi's best year, he has 43 points, Tkachuk almost beat his combined assists and goals, with just his goals. Well we r going to regret this trade JUST like this one, I PROMISE U THIS!!! That's a guarantee u can count on!!! And if u had have asked any Habs fan that last year, if we should draft the best player, or draft for the position we are weakest. Well either way they were wrong, we aren't weakest on the back end, we r weakest up front, BY A LOT. And we still are, and will be for 2 or 3 more years. IT FUCKIN SUCKS. I like the channel tho, thanks, and sorry about the book ive written!!! lol. Sorry for the rant, im just soooooo pissed about giving up Leonard, even Michkov. It is sickening to me, like really, ive been a LOYAL Habs fan for the last 42 or 43 years, I make sure to catch a couple games every year, even tho i live quite far from Montreal, on the east coast, I haven't missed a game on TV for more then a decade in a half, unless i was live at the game. I know my hockey, i played provincial hockey til i was 19, my old man played in the OHL. If u can't see the Habs seriously lack fire power, then i dont know, i dont even want to talk to you, because either ur blind, or one of those guys/girls who just can't accept anything, and believe's everything they're told, sound familiar??? Wow, i wrote ALOT! 🤢🤢🤢🤮 Suoer unhappy Habs fan!
I feel your pain and agree with a lot of what your saying. I personally would have loved to seen them pick Benson this year instead of drafting for positional need in such a rich offence draft. That being said, I think we owe it to Hughes/Gorton/Marty to give them another year or two to leave their imprint on the team and just try to have faith that they are building a legit cup contender. If we look at their first draft last year (Slaf, Hutson, Beck, Engstrom, Mesar, Davidson, Rhorer), one year later, I would argue that only Columbus did better. I may regret it in a year or two but I think Hughes deserves this one time pass. There are so many prospects that look to be impactful NHL players in the cupboards, the law of averages would suggest that one or two of them will pan out and blow all expectations. I think you're a bit harsh on Newhook though.. If you played hockey and your dad played in the OHL, I'm sure you can understand that being 21-22 is still young and most haven't peaked at that age yet. And some guys really do need a change of scenery to become the best version of themselves. If his ceiling really is a bottom 6 that can provide secondary scoring than so be it, but i highly doubt it. I do believe there is a chance that one of Newhook, Roy, Farrell, Kidney can become that offence machine we have been waiting on forever and I think Marty is the guy that can unlock that sort of potential as he has done with Caufield, Dach, etc. With the logjam of top prospects on LD, some will eventually become important trade pieces to hopefully get us that established top 6 forward. I don't hate PLD but I'm actually glad we don't have him on our books at 8.5million as he is not worth that kind of money and I don't think it would be wise to try and fast forward the rebuild at the cost of developing our young guns right now. I do understand where your coming from and as a fellow hardcore habs fan, I get it. I hope to christ its not going to be another KK/Tkatchuk situation but we have to remember most of the fanbase, myself included wanted Zadina at the time not necessarily Tkatchuk and look at Zadina now. We have to remember we have two 1st rounders next draft as well where I will expect Hughes to go for pure offence forwards since if his strategy really is to draft for position that will likely be the biggest need now that the Defense and Goalie shelves are well stocked. Let's be patient, cheer our boys on, hope the youngins continue to improve and even surpass our expectations and then we can circle back in a year
@@samuellauzon8446 Oh i will continue to cheer, and u make some valid points, i wish i could agree on the offense, I just dont see it, and the fact that Hughes said like 2 days before the draft, that they were DEFINITELY taking the best player available, and not drafting for position. They (Habs management) say that Reinbacher WAS the best available player, but let's be honest, we know that's not true, if he were a left shot D man, we DEFINITELY would have gone with offense. I did have so much faith in the new management, but it seems to be fading more and more. It seems like hughes only wants players that were expected to do well, and that didnt, hoping MSL can revive their careers, as u said, like he did with Caufield. To expect that MSL is going to do with with Slaf, Newhook, Dach, and the rest of the team, is putting A LOT on MSL's shoulders. Anyway, like i said u made some valid points, I dont mean to sound like i just want to argue, because I hate when we as Habs fans are dicks to each other, it really makes no sense, even if we disagree on something. I hope Hughes will make some moves that will restore my faith in him. And Im glad PLD isn't here also really, I just expected him to be trouble in the dressing room eventually, like he has EVERY where else hes played. I guess i was hoping we wouldnt get PLD, but i did think we would go after someone else in the same price category. We r still VERY short on offense. Ok im done, beating a dead horse here! lol, we will have to respectfully disagree on a few things, we do agree on some things too tho. thanks for being civil about the whole thing!! Later, Go Habs Go! Ive been a fan for a LONG time, and it looked like we were getting away from where we build from the goallie, to the D, then what's left we use to obtain forwards, it hasn't worked for us in the last 40 years, except the 2 cups Roy won for us! lol. Ok that''s it, im done!! lol. Have a good day brother! 😄
what if all THESE offensive talent prospects end up being not as good as we think... we never know, only time is gonna tell us. for the moment, trust the process my guy.
@@antix7947 That's what im saying, i dont believe they will all pan out, im not sure 50% will turn out. I think harris is either gonna be a better trade token, or a 7d. Sure there are others to consider, but at this point its mostly for injury depth and to cover the bases in laval
It's looking like Engstrom might be the 7d man. Harris might be the odd man out down the line. Though I really like Harris too.
i don't think we will ever see mailloux in a habs jersey , he is banned by bettman to play in the nhl
If Price retired why has there been no official announcement yet?
Not mentionning Guhle or barely is ridiculous , is going to be the pillar of the habs defence for years to come ...
We r heading back to the 90's and 2000's, all defense, and struggling to find consistent goal-tending. It's tiring, I feel like Im always putting my own team down, and i dont want to, but some of the expectations people have are SOOO unrealistic! Dude above said we r going to have TEN 20 goal scorers this season!! lolol. I dont know if he was a troll or what, hopefully he doesn't really believe that! We r so far from that! I will cheer for the Habs this year, again, and watch as they slowly slip in the rankings, they will have a decent start, but after 10 or 15 games, we will start to see what we r really working with, and it's not a lo, in my opinion, we need a couple goal scorers, so tired of always D first. Back to finishing high enough to not get a good pick, but not making the playoffs either, and i hope all the people who have argued with me, remember me. Habs aren't a playoff team, no where near yet. Hopefully Hughes and Gorton will make better decisions in the future, no more players that arent working on other teams, and hoping MSL can return them to glory!! lol.
No word on Maillou and Newhook?
Mailloux will not play in the nhl he is banned by bettman, and if he leeked naked picture of your daughter should he ever play in the nhl?
Hugues was actually taken a year prior than Hutson
Short answer: second best future out of Canadian nhl teams right behind the jets
It really isn’t important but Luke Hughes and Hutson weren’t in the same draft. Hutson was in the draft with Slafkovsky.
positivity i Like it !!!
You meant, not “time to acclimate to the American game”….but, “time to acclimate to the CANADIAN GAME”. Just pointing that out 🇨🇦. Otherwise, great video especially for us habs fans.
Saying Suzuki needs to up his game on the offense side is ridiculous ...
Habs may have the Seider of this draft, worse case scenario he goes to Laval for some seasoning to play with a crazy stacked D core. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he beats out Kovacevic & Wideman for the 7/8th man and splits time with Xhekaj for the 3rd pairing.
annoying . they pick a D in a stacked Forward draft and watch them take a Forward in a Deep D-Man 2024 draft
Why are you singing and not talking? 😂
I agree. Decent content, but you gotta speak more naturally. Speak like you are explaining this stuff to a friend.
Cooley has definitely separated himself more than the other two
Bite yer nose ! 100 + % }}} Black eye Jackeye FAN/boy -- guys not ONLY ! tough as nails --- he scores ! and is a responsible D man >>> Habs haven"t had a cruncher sints Emelin...WHACK! here he is
All wasted top picks with slavofsky and reinbacher
the trades done this off season the habs look awful this year.
top 5 best futures in the league
slafkosky will be good but never a 40 goals scorer or a point per game player, where i can see him shine is in a playoff run if that ever happens
God help us if thats all we've got.
What? We have one of the best prospect pools and young depth in the entire league and it’s only year 2 of the rebuild. Are entire Left and Right D depth is so good that we’ll probably have to trade either Matheson, Harris, Engstrom, Mailloux or Barron. We have so many forwards with breakout top line potential it’s insane
@@Bdubsky only year 2? Habs never rebuilded in the first place. They got lucky with injuries. They have a mid table, bubble team. And if Newhook can be that 2C, Montreal is guaranteed to pick in the 12-15 range. That’s mediocrity. As far as high end prospects go, this is the best it’s going to get.
Imagine having the 1st & 5th OA pick and leaving the draft with Slafkovsky & Reinbacher, instead of Wright and Michkov. Literally any one of Wright, Cooley, Nemec was a better pick than him. Montreal had the opportunity to draft franchise altering players, instead they chose a younger Lehkonen and Petry
@@pahulgill6114 you can tell the future or what? all those players never did a full season yet lmao
@@pahulgill6114Lucky with injuries? We lost more man games to injury than any other team last season. The rest of your comment isn’t any better. Where did Wright play last year? Reinbacher and Hutson will be a top pairing in 3 to 4 years, but the Habs will contend and win the Cup before then.
@@pahulgill6114 The only mistake they made with Slaf was not starting him in Laval. I would've probably taken Wright but none of them look like stars yet. If they didn't like Michkov, they should've traded down IMO and would still have picked up a very good player this year.
