I'm happy to see Farrell high on your list. I like the kid, I wish him success in Montreal and hope he becomes a great player but I'm not sold on him. Engstrom impressed me at the last development camp and as much as I like all the prospects you highlighted, Heineman is player I expect to see play most in Montreal next season. He's the most NHL ready IMO and I look forward to see if he can bring his scoring touch to the NHL. He's got wheels and a great shot. I'd rather see Heineman play in Montreal next season than Armia. He looks like a natural goal scorer and I want to see him get a shot with the big club. Maybe Hughes can find a way to move Armia this summer.
Your draft content this year really helped me prepare for what to expect, and get an idea of the players available in the weeks and months leading up to the draft. Definitely got my sub a while back. Would you consider doing videos like this for all 32 teams? I feel like this might be a big year for some guys drafted later in the 19 through 21 drafts. Thanks for everything! - Yotes fan
Appreciate the support and glad you enjoy the content! I will try to do prospect pool videos but time is tight on my end...Blackhawks is coming out tomorrow. Thanks again for the sub!
As a habs fan At first I wasn’t sure reinbacher but now after watching this video and watching some other videos I think it was a good pick for the habs
Appreciate all the hard work and your assessment. Well done. If I may suggest expanding your list to Top 25. There are several more that could be easily added for reference including goalies, Thanks again. My Top Five based on making the Habs soon or being traded for specific needs in near future are: Heineman, Mailloux, Roy, Mesar, Farrell,
Thanks! Yeah definitely could add more on a lot of the prospect pools...lots of fun and it's nice to see other people's opinions on who they like. Cheers!
Oleg Petrov was one of my favorite Hab even though he didn't have the best stats. He was fun to watch. I already feel the same way about Hutson. I'll be extremely disappointed if he gets traded. I wish all of these guys success and have nothing against anyone but I'm not convinced about Farrell. A lot of people were complaining that Slafkovsky was underwhelming in his first stint in the NHL but other than Farrell scoring on his first shot, I didn't really see anything special. And unlike Slaf who was 18, Farrell was 21. Now before anyone starts telling me he's still 21 and was playing in the NHL for the first time, of course, I don't expect him to light it up. I'm, not saying he's a bust and I hope he gets an opportunity to play quality minutes and have a chance to learn to play in the NHL. I just haven't seen anything special from him yet and my gut tells me things don't look good. I hope my gut is wrong and wish him the best. I'd be thrilled if he one day dominates the NHL like he dominated the NACC. I don't know what will happen to Kidney either. I like the kid and believe he's talented but where does he play as a center in Montreal? If Dach and Suzuki are the Habs future top 2 centers, where will Kidney play? He's an offensive center. I don't see him succeed as a bottom 6 center. Unless He plays on the 3rd line with quality wingers and Beck drops to the 4th line. I think Beck is better suited as a third line center but that's just my opinion of course. But Beck's intelligence and faceoff % makes him the best candidate to take important faceoffs in the defensive zone. A player who I can see play on his wing is Roy. Another smart hockey player who has shown to be able to make good decisions under pressure. So I keep expecting Kidney to get traded before playing one game with the Canadiens. He's got skill though and I hope to see him get a chance with the Canadiens at one point. Heineman seems to have a great shot and good wheels. If he has a strong camp like last season, I have a feeling the team might have to find room for him. He was already good in the AHL last season. I can see him make the team. I also thought Engstrom looked very good at the development camp. He impressed me most after Hutson; even more than Mailloux. Good list! I look forward to see these guys progress.
I respect your opinion, but lot of people underestimate Mešár, this kid played his first season in North America, I do believe that altough he is smaller hockey player his game is more suitable for mens hockey than junior (What i mean is that he is much more valuble in mens hockey)… for me he is top 3 prospect after hutson and reinbacher
I think Chicago's would be fascinating to see. The depth one year into the rebuild is ridiculous completely ignoring their top end Tier 1: Bedard Tier 2: Korchinski, Reichel, Moore, Nazar Tier 3: Guttman, Phillips, Rinzel, Del Mastro, Greene Tier 4: Lardis, Kantserov, Ludwinski, Kaiser, Allan, Vlasic, C. Dach, Stjernborg, Savoie, Hayes, Thompson, Mišiak Goalies: Söderblom, Commesso, Gajan edit: and that's on top of the ridiculous amount of draft capital they still have. 5x 1st round picks the next three years, 3x of those likely to be top 10 picks. 8x 2nd round picks in the same 3 year time span
The Coyotes have deep prospect pool, for once. Would love to see you take a dive on them. They also STILL have a boatload of picks over the next 3 years.
i love jared davidson but lets not forget that he was 21 years old playing in the whl this year so i dont think we should get our hopes up too much yet
From April 2024 perpective My top 10 1. Lane Hutson 2. David Reinbacher 3. Joshua Roy 4. Jacob Fowler 5. Logan Mailloux 6. Owen Beck 7. Adam Engstrom 8. Bogdan Konyushkov 9. Florian Xhekaj 10. Filip Mesar Prospect Ahlers Jacob Dobes Emile Heinemen Sean Farrell William Trudeau Riley Kidney Jared Davidson Luke Tuch
So you don't see Slafkovsky as a prospect anymore, I guess... Also, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Dobes, Fowler and even more so on Quentin MIller no one talks about. That kid will be in a very good spot to show and hone his skills now that Rousseau is gone for the Remparts.
Josh Roy should be in the top 3, he excels in all aspects of the games, PP in PK 5 on 5, +\- is very good. In the playoffs, is almost 2 points per game. He is a right-winger and can play in the middle. He had a very good impact at the WJC too.
Engstrom should be higher on your list. Also, Oliver Kapanen should be in the top ten. It would be at the expense of one of those players that I would not like to point out. It's a nice problem to have.
Kidney is a tough call...definitely needs some time in the minors to work out some deficiencies, I think that will determine if he gets a regular shift at the next level.
The Wings have the best defenseive prospects. Try and argue. I dare you. 😊 It's hard to tell what they have offensively. Some people think Danielson is short on offense. I think they're wrong bit we'll see. I think Kasper is an NHL player but maybe a 3rd or 4th line energy guy. Buchelnikov could dangle and snipe his way to stardom or just get buried due to lack of size. . Lombardi has hands but is he fast and strong enough and can he shoot? Hanas has puck skills. Is that all he has? Soderblom has a history of starting slow and then exploding in production. Can he do it again or is he a 10 to 20 goal guy? All kinds of potential with these guys bit will we ever see it on NHL ice? Don't know.
Would have him number one on the list...he's big and mobile and can score. From what I've been reading he's been training hard all season. Big guys take a little longer to adapt to NHL style, but once they do...watch out!
You know what they can, and most if not all can, but ya they can play like a dickens, shoot like lazers. But its not all that, it is alot to do with mental tuffness. So many young kids put so much pressure on themselves that its what is the big part of why they either don't make the cut or they do not do as well as he and everyone hoped he did.
Logan mailloux at 7 is going to age poorly, kid is going to be a stud. Shea weber lite with better skating and offensive iq. Yes he needs to work on his defensive game but if he gets paired with kaiden guhle in the future thats a beautiful 1-2 punch! Ohhhhh and lets not forget hutson-reinbacher defense is going to be STACKEDDDDD
If you look back at the 2021 nhl draft you cant tell me he wouldnt be in the 10-15 range if it wasnt for his off ice issues and not wanting to be drafted. That pick is going to be a steal at 31
Third for me, although it's pretty close with Farrell. Owen beck's ceiling isn't high enough to be ahead of him and mesar has a higher ceiling than beck but him ending up going back to Europe for his career is probably more likely than him being a top 6 player.
I'm happy to see Farrell high on your list. I like the kid, I wish him success in Montreal and hope he becomes a great player but I'm not sold on him. Hutson actually wasn't a Hobey Baker finalist, but I understand why you would think he was. Putting Matt Knies over him was a robbery.
Ah yes...a top 10 finalist. Should have been more specific! Good catch!
Actually, he should have won it.
Hell yeah. Red wings next love the videos
Love this style of video. I'd love to see all 31 other teams lol
Gonna be tough, but will try to get out as many as I can! Thanks!

How can you be a fan of 2 teams lmao especially 2 rivals
Buffalo should have a great prospect pool as they have been awful for so long

Roy is underestimated and he will surprise everyone.
Please show the Flyers vastly improved prospect pool? Thanks! Good show as always.
Logan Mailloux definitely higher than Mesar for me
There can definitely be some play in positioning of these rankings!
He's arguably in the top 3 (Habs prospect would back that up). I think his past actions are still affecting how people see him as a hockey player.

Those Guys + the Youngsters that are already in the NHL + Kapanen, Rohrer, Trudeau, Fowler - Future Looks bright
Mailloux is top 3 in my book behind hutson and reinbacher
Sean Ferrell has already scored 1 goal in the NHL in 2023
Yup...first game. Had the clip, but couldn't post it because of copyright.
Josh Roy is 3 without a doubt.
It is a good wrap-up video, but there is no goalie in your top ten prospect. where did you put Dobes and Fowler?
Dobes/Fowler could have definitely slipped in the Top 10, but I'm not that good at evaluating goalies yet to be honest, so kept them off the list.

that’s Patrick Kane, Jack Hughes type of skills.
YES!!!
1) Hutson 2) Mailloux 3) Reinbacher 4)Roy 5)Mesar
