    It is interesting that you would say that Ti operates via inductions, we usually say its deductive in the sense that Te depends on the object and Ti depends on the idea. But we would be interested to hear more about this. :-)

    Thanks for this criticism. You are correct that Si is not really a system and that the individual weighing of which factors to lend prominence (and which to ignore) are determined by the Si-type rather than by the facts themselves. "System of facts" will perhaps suggest Te-dominance to some and the optimum word for Si would perhaps be narrative or even 'bundle', lol. In other words, we agree with your point.

    Can you do one on Woody Allen? INTP or ISTP

    Just wanted to tell the INTJ or ENTP who wrote/narrated (I read somewhere that the two admins of CelebrityTypes where INTJ and ENTP, correct me if I'm wrong), that they really did do a great job. When making a video, it often seems beneficial to write down the narration on beforehand, as opposed to simply narrate one's current train of thought.

    priority, which seems to be a natural result of them having a greater impression upon the subject. Still, while it seems to retell events sequentially as a concatentation of only-slightly-molested facts, it will not be snapshots of events delivered in regaling fashion by a raconteur such as with the more theatrical Churchill.

    This video does quite a good job demonstrating the difference between Se and Si, where Se is a bit more action-oriented and Si seems to drone on about a series of events, just listing them chronologically in a rather drab way. The only thing I would caution with, however, is the word "system". It's a something of a quibble, but I would stress that while Introverted Sensation will take facts and events and submit them into a somewhat personal narrative tinted by the individual's internalized …

    The analysis is the real substance of the video. And if you recommend people to be more like DaveSuperPowers, you're running the risk of them releasing an "Is theycallmechili Really an Se Type?" video.

    Do you think this could be related to type as well? I actually like these academic videos. The academic stuff is sometimes stereotypically associated with introverted sensing from my own experience of others opinions on It but I'm not sure to what extent.

    That sounds about right. As I visualize it, Te would be a system of facts with great breadth spread flatly in direct parallel to reality; Ti would be more like a tower which, while its foundation may be firmly planted upon objective fact, will be built upon conjecture which rises up and continually loses stability as it moves further away from reality in its series of inductions; Si as something of a rectilinear chain of facts; and Se to be snapshots of events, albeit perhaps panoramic ones.

    … response and subjective experience, the Introverted Sensation function is still an undifferentiated function which will only recount things as a string of events in a story - it won't be interpreted so much in an abstract way, focus on themes, render too many judgments, or anything of that nature. In many ways, Si types almost seem to have a sort of objectivity to them, until one realizes the subjectivity seems to come in the form of selectivity giving certain facts or events a weighted …

    No way is Custer an Si. Si types are cautious and only act based on experience that reduces risk. He was definitely a man of action and a dominant extrovert. Plus, his lack of planning in his battles would eliminate Judging in his four-letter type, thus introversion from his perceiving function. He was definitely Se. You can't necessarily go by what he wrote in his memoir as these are polluted with how people want to be perceived.

    Ah, well, I wanted to describe it as though the germ of the idea is planted in reality, thus induced by observation, as the idea is still abstracted from the object with Introverted functions. If it begins to hatch frameworks with do not heed the rules presented by the real world at all, then you are dealing with someone who has spiraled into the realm of dereism and is likely suffering from schizotypal personality disorder. But induction may be seen as synonymous with or subsumed by deduction.

    Ok, that explains why there written comments rather than narration on your last video... But why would you need a paid narrator in the first place. Unless both of you guys are mute I see little reason why you shouldn't talk yourself.

  • @DesmondplusFaraday
    @DesmondplusFaraday 12 лет назад

    Oh wow, only an idiot like me would say one contradistinctive term is subsumed by another; this is what happens when you are glib. Yes, Ti is probably going to be looking to corroborate a hypothesis or theory and want to interpret facts in such a way - even if you could ultimately trace the hypothesis back to observation - whereas Te would see facts as rules or order presented by the world. So Ti will be a priori, relating facts back to a preexisting notion; Te an a posteriori process.

    ESTPs like me and Alexander the Great make the best military commanders. ISFJs might be too nice and afraid to kill people
