I could only watch half of the interview at first, and wasn’t able to watch the other half until a couple days later, but man, during those couple days I couldn’t stop thinking about it and couldn’t wait to hear the rest of what Gage had to say. Just awesome! Thank you Chris and thank you Gage!
If he was 11 and realized shit was getting lame, that says how bad it was. And he's not wrong. I was born in 85 and it wasn't until the NWO hit that I felt like wrestling was cool.
I came out of the gutter and mud of my city and seeing someone else like that out in the world just doing his thing and living his dreams is inspirational. May every good person who's down come up and shine all over this creation. Stay blessed.
Just like everyone else, I've always thought of bank robbers as horrible people, then this guy comes along and completely shatters that perception. He is clearly out of his damn mind, and yet he somehow manages to also be a good (and shockingly very mellow) dude with a big heart. It doesn't seem to make any sense that such a person can exist, and yet we have one right here. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone! This is easily one of your all-time best interviews, and the guy has so much to say that I think you're going to have to do a part 2, Chris! Maybe ask him about other non-wrestling related things next time. I want to know more about this man as a human being.

Only thing that matters is friends and family because everything else can be taken away in an instant. You really learn to appreciate what you have so much more when moving on.

This is the best interview I have ever seen. Period.
Wow, seriously one of the best and most interesting interviews! Heard about Gage, but didn’t know much, and had to dig deeper after he turned up in AEW.
I could only watch half of the interview at first, and wasn’t able to watch the other half until a couple days later, but man, during those couple days I couldn’t stop thinking about it and couldn’t wait to hear the rest of what Gage had to say.
Just awesome! Thank you Chris and thank you Gage!
"fell out of love in the early 90s, WCW was corny, WWF was already corny"
man was 11 years years old..
If he was 11 and realized shit was getting lame, that says how bad it was. And he's not wrong. I was born in 85 and it wasn't until the NWO hit that I felt like wrestling was cool.
Greatest interview ever! Thank you Nick Gage :)
This is my 2nd time watching this interview & luv it!!!!
I came out of the gutter and mud of my city and seeing someone else like that out in the world just doing his thing and living his dreams is inspirational.
May every good person who's down come up and shine all over this creation. Stay blessed.
Man, what an intelligent guy. Jesus Christ. Very, very articulate. Probably one of my favorite podcasts episode from CVV ever.
Me: a lot of people seem to love Nick Gage
Me 30 min in: oh fuck I love Nick Gage
He's just fucking real and open about everything.
Never heard gage like this, ever, Chris is totally a next level interview, this was quality, hopefully Nick can stay clean and out of trouble
This might be my favorite interview ever
What an interesting and straight up awesome interview!
Nick is a very insightful and real dude
Thankyou for this Chris 👊🔥🔥
Addiction makes you do some crazy shit man. At the same time its not like nick held them up at gun point, he slipped the teller a note. What he did was wrong but he never put anyone in danger.
@@cnacks4835 Absolutely, I agree 100%. It's just really bizarre to be referring to a former bank robber as a "good guy", but he definitely does seem to be one. I wish he'd retire from that death match stuff though, because I'd hate to see a good person end up having his life drastically cut short.
Watched so many of your interviews and loved them all but this one takes the cake for sure. Wow. Nick Gage has been through a lot. A lot. Great retrospective. Mad respect CVV!
This is probably one of the best interviews with Gage. Very inspiring.
He’s very well spoken. Not something someone with his reputation would be expected to be like
1:13:45 Okada! this was killing me haha
Same!!
Me too
ikr i was like if someone says a NJPW Kenny match how do u guess a name other then Okada once let alone 3 times lol
hahaha I know, when CVV said Ishii I was screaming
I was yelling it out as if he could hear me. 😂
Hands down, pretty much the best CVV interview so far... thank you to both of you guys!!!
One of the best pro wrestling one-on-one interviews I've ever heard. Can listen again and again. Great watch!
Appreciate that!
Chris is the best interviewer.
Great interview, CVV & Nick is a true badass. They broke the mold when they made him
Didn't know who Gage was until I watched him walk out on stage on Dynamite to challenge Chris Jericho in a Deathmatch and watching this interview makes it hard for me to dislike this guy after getting to know him through this interview. Respect.
in 2000 at an ECW show at the arena, i bought a CZW vhs at the rf video table, it was 2 shows on it, they said it couldnt be done/no rules, no limits & both featured gage vs wifebeater. love seeing him overcome addiction & still going today
Im sort of disappointed that Chris didnt know he was talking about Okada.
He's a good interviewer but you can tell his wrestling knowledge is super limited.
Wait? So Nick F’N Gage is not a maniac at all times? Lol so weird seeing him so chill. I love it
I’ve met him 3 months ago when Jon Moxley confronted him when he won the GCW Championship after the show was over. I gotten to meet him and he was super chill as hell and met Moxley as well but Gage is super chill
CVV, this is one of my favourite interviews you’ve ever done and I’ve been a big fan for quite a while. I have always been thinking about you doing an interview with Nick Gage and you have finally crossed that interview off my list! Keep doing what you do best Chris! Much love
Chris i just wanna say thank you for all these great interviews please don't stop ill always be watching #cvv4life
Many don't understand what it's like to hit rock bottom and even find it amusing, but it's real and it sucks. I didn't know Nick before this, but can appreciate what he's been through. Only thing that matters is friends and family because everything else can be taken away in an instant. You really learn to appreciate what you have so much more when moving on.
Some people don’t have enough empathy too, it’s real easy to get up on your high horse and say “oh he’s just a criminal he’s just this and that” when you don’t know their life like that
I'm not big into death match guy, but I respect Nick for what he's gone through and his pure love of wrestling
I remember when CVV had 3.9k subs or something like that. We have come a long way, haven't we, Chris? Nothing can slow you down now.
Way too many people think he's an evil person because he robbed a bank
He served his time and keeps out of trouble these days. He overcame his demons and addictions.
THANK YOU!
Just recently got into Nick Gage after the Matt Cardona match and wow. This guy is really cool and down to earth. It's crazy seeing the real him vs him in the ring.
Nick Gage is about to blow up. Hope AEW signs this guy.
I don't know much about Nick Gage career, but much respect to him and what he does
You know someone knows his shit when Shinjiro Otani is their fav wrestler.
Powerful, insightful, honest! Loved it! Great IV as always CVV!!
HOLY SMOKES!! Van Vliet, You are a LEGEND for this one! MDK, ALL F'N DAY
This was an incredible listen, Chris and Gage just seem like the best dudes.
This was very insightful. Such a great conversation. Make me so much more pumped for see Gage vs Cardona, which is the best storyline in wrestling today imo
How could anyone dislike this interview
Might be the best interview he has done
One of the best shoots I've watched great guest and great job interviewing
Happy Birthday CVV!
Thanks so much David!
As terrifying Nick Gage is in the ring, he is the most personable people when you listen to this podcast. Loved this episode!
