A lot of people (myself included) don't like to divulge that information, so I have all the respect in the world for him talking about all of that! Thanks Jay.

So true so true he was my favorite wrestler when i was a kid. Well you know what they say, man, If you close your eyes, your life, a naked truth revealed. Dreams you never lived and scars never healed. In the darkness, light will take you to the other side and find me waiting there You'll see if you just close your eyes. Simply Prophetic.
Man Christian talking about how some nights he’s about to go out and will think to himself behind the curtain “I have nothing to say” but then when he steps through that curtain he figures it out.. just gave me goosebumps.
@RatedRWW But he is. A TLC legend! A man that has been able to reinvent himself again and again. Great mic skills. A phenomenonal heel magnet. His incredible work in TNA. And of course everything he has done in AEW thus far. He has done more than enough to be considered an all time great. Not the greatest but among the hundreds and hundreds of wrestlers that have lived, he is definitely up there with the best.
I don't like him very much but he is indeed one of the greatest of all time child. Just watch some of the top 10's from guys who knows a thing or two about wrestling, he is always in their list.@@RatedRWW
There was a time where we thought Christian Cage would never be able to wrestle again. But here he is being the best heel in the business and doing what he does best as if he never missed a step! Truly one of the best to ever do it and I really hope he gets a run as the AEW World Champion as he deserves.
Great interview, Chris! I remember the period Christian talked about re the Batista/Cena era. I was there at that taped Raw in England and the crowd was hot for Christian, it wasnt even close! Many people were disappointed that his Captain Charisma t-shirt wasnt on sale at the merch stands. There were so many signs for him in the crowd & I remember watching the Raw back on TV thinking “This sound has been edited BIG TIME!” The triple threat match he speaks about, I felt that they didnt want the same reaction vs Cena as he was already starting to get booed so they then add Chris Jericho for an extra heatseeker. But Christian had it at all that time, the waterproof blonde theme music & having the muscle in Tyson Tomko completed the package imo
He's always been criminally underrated. His in ring work is great, his work on the mic makes you invested in his character and he's elite at making you hate him. It's sad that WWE never saw the potential in him as a singles competitor. WWE needs to allow the talent to have more input on their own promos because it just doesn't seem real. If they just allowed Christian to say what he wanted to say instead of some nerd telling him what to do, they'd have more stars on the roster.
but he elevated tag team wrestling as a whole while he was in WWE....so it's not like his WWE stint was a total failure. Also at least WWE was willing to offer him spots in the Royal Rumble matches...TNA and AEW won't even do Royal Rumble matches...or rarely if at all.
He’s one of the most legendary yet underrated wrestlers in wrestling today. From being a tag team champion in the 90s to still being one of the most revalent stars in wrestling today
I don't care what anyone says about age or whatever. Christian Cage is still one of the very best in the world today and he must get a run at the very top in AEW! He's a true master of the game. His demeanor, his cadence in a promo and the way he controls the crowd, how he makes everything in a match mean something and how unbelievably professional he is to put so much effort into what he does despite already being one of wrestling's legends! He deserves much more credit than what he gets and I truly hope to see him have an iconic AEW World Championship run!
Sting retired for the 2nd time in his sixties, and still did a lot of the stuff he did 30-40 years ago. Of course, there were some things he couldn’t do, or had to tweak a lot, but he didn’t look that bad for his age.
Not even kidding, Christian's run in AEW has been absolutely insane. It's not an exaggeration when you say it's his best work of his career. Father of the year 2023 and front runner for Father of the year 2024. Some of my favorite wrestling television I've seen in decades. That TNT Title was ABSOLUTELY at the peak in importance while in the hands of Christian. It was an amazing run, and hopefully we see much more to come.
I knew of TNA from around 2004. I used to watch it sporadically. I became a regular when Christian debuted there and stayed till he left. Haven't seen a TNA show since then. He has always been one of my absolute favorites. #Peep4Life
