    Best review I found. Thank you for detailed set up explanations. Just yesterday got 880-M in black and love it a lot!
    It's already pretty old model but in my eyes it winner even today for quality and looking great too.
    Couple things concern about; in RUclips watching some movies uploaded in vertical mode, and monitor NOT turns in right for me vertical direction , and can NOT multiscreen same time
    iPad, MacBook Pro and Note 10+ phone. Nothing perfect in this life man. Have a nice everything !

    Good job! Nice review. I've just purchased the exact same one (white back). I purchased a 34" LG ultrawide (3440 x 1440) which is very nice - but just too wide and prefer a little more height. Plus I would prefer even higher pixel density since I read a lot of fine text. This monitor was the perfect solution AND it has that ergo stand which is very useful for me.

    Hi Kostas
    I would have a question, I hope you can answer:
    What is the difference between 32UN88A - 32UN880 ??? Only the color ???
    On the LG website i read:
    32UN88A is a 31.5" panel
    32UN880 is a 32" panel
    I want to understand if this is true, if the panel has been changed, I'm afraid that one of the two had problems.
    I am shopping now, I use one of your links (EU)
    Thanks and congratulations

    • @KostasGur
      @KostasGur  3 года назад +1

      Hi Andrea, both are 31.5. Here in Greece they sell only the Black and they say 31.5'' in stores. But I noticed that the black is 10-20 euros more expensive in Amazon DE than the white and in UK they rose the Black's price very much, don't know why.

    I bought the 27" version.. The High PPI density makes it so sharp. I can read test from 8 feet away. It's that sharp of an image. Video Editing and even watching movies is amazing for the price range. I ended up drilling the hole for the stand through the table. As My desk is mounted flat to the wall. Glad that added that option...As it is rock solid stable...
    Now when they release the Mac Mini Pro Max... I will have everything needed to do all my work on.
    Great Monitor...

    • @BigCatMama
      @BigCatMama 2 года назад

      Does the PPI makes you feel that even for 27 inch the word is clear? I am thinking 32 inch scale up the font or 27 inch 4K! Hard to decide. I have average eyesight. I use word, CAD a lot.

      @@BigCatMama have you decided yet? I’m struggling too

    • @BigCatMama
      @BigCatMama 2 года назад

      @@FelixMbus Hi Felix, I went for Dell UltraSharp 27 4K USB-C Hub Monitor - U2723QE (I think I paid like 580 GBP with a student discount code in the UK). It has IPS black panel which said to have contrast ratio of 2000:1 (If I am correct iMac 27 inch the so called gold standard has 1300:1). The monitor has a lot of USB-A port at the back so most USB can be nicely connected to the monitor ports, then a USB-C 90W is connected to my Macbook Pro 16 inch. Too bad it is short of 7W which is needed when you run full load (like play game).
      It also have ethernet port (that I havent been able to get it to work), I am using belkin-usb-c RJ45 (ethernet) for internet at the moment. I write in more details later.
      The different is 32 inch vs 27 inch. As I wanted a high ppi so I went for 27 inch and is like 250 GBP cheaper than 32 inch one. Overall I am very happy with 27 inch 4k! It is sharp, I put scaling 175% and font 140% to 145%. Reading emails and using CAD are very nice. I can sense so big different in resolution displaying CAD using 27 inch 4K and uni desktop 24 inch full HD haha. I will say the brightness 400 nits are pretty high of course all monitor now strive for higher. I have a BenQ halo lamp on top (150 GBP) to complement environmental reading and night work. I found it super bright when room lamp is not enough and need tune brightness or contrast down. But now I have managed to get a sweet spot with the help of BenQ halo lamp.
      The reason I went for 27 inch i also because I have make a 'mock-up' display on my wall next to my computer desk. Above my table is a shelf. So most webcam + BenQ monitor lamp sit nicely with little clearance left. It is a rented apartment so I didnt mess with the shelf. 32 inch will be huge but I think it will sacrifice sharpness. And for me I want sharp text! Just like a phone the ppi is high but way sharper than most desktop monitors.
      400 nits are pretty high. When I have more budget in the future I would get a 4K 27 inch 144 hz for gaming and to complement my multitask (well that is a wish list).

    Mac mini + LG Ultrafine 4K 32" set up -- At 3840 x 2160, it's nearly impossible to read emails or in general do work because everything is so damn small and my face is 8 inches from the screen. Sure, you have more "real estate" but what's the point if you can't see anything.
    By definition, when you scale the resolution to 2560 x 1440 you no longer have 4K. Maybe 4K is arguably best for photo//video editors, not general laypeople or maybe I'm just blind?

    • @KostasGur
      @KostasGur  2 года назад +2

      You are not blind, 32'' is too small for native 4K. Unfortunately with macs if you want the native 4K resolution and to be able to read the letters, the only option is to scale at 1920x1080 look. At least videos and pictures still remain in native 4K at the 1920 look. I think Windows has a better way to deal with this, only increase the size of the letters.

Mfg says no to my warranty but I had also paid ext 2 yrs Costco insurance and Hisense did not care. Not a defect, they say it is damage. Too bad. That is all no mfg repair. With a mgr's disgression, at Costco where it was bought after 10 mos in the box and rejection process. They repaid my money, by human decision when others would not. My feelings and exp. did have value. Now I realize I must have a monitor; not a dumb TV. TVs are not at all ideal for a computer desk user. I aleready have a great 25560 x11440 ACER but need more realeaste for databases and open display of printed info to cut and paste. I do video edit also so the clor i will still want and not a gamer's need for 120 hz ++ refresh. More range than sRGB a plus. I have Acer 32" 2560x1440 B326HUL from 2015. Flawless performance every day. blacks in netflix movies seem crappy details missing. (Their quality ???) never seen a hi res playback with a 4 k file or even 2K movies dvd.
