The Perfect Productivity Monitor - LG 32” 4K UltraFine Ergo Setup

- The LG UltraFine Ergo Monitor (32UN880) is the best 4K productivity monitor I’ve owned. A 4K HDR display along with the versatile arm make this the perfect desk setup combo. I’ve got the 32” version here which comes with the ergo stand and a USB C hub.

I’m using this UltraFine display with my MacBook Pro and Windows Laptop for photo editing, video editing and web development (as well as normal day-to-day tasks like emails and watching RUclips).
It also supports AMD FreeSync and a gaming mode (if you’re looking for a productivity monitor that can also be used for gaming). The anti-glare screen helps with reducing reflections in the room too. #4KMonitor #32UN880 #UltraFine #BestMonitor #Ergo #Productivity

Let me know what monitor you're using. Any Ultrawide or dual monitor setups?
Hi spawnpoiint, im looking for a Good Gaming Monitor can you help me with that?
Im using a 27 inch aoc gaming monitor (144hz) with my laptop on the side, in a Wall Mount that has an arm for my monitor and laptop. Works Great for me
What's the refresh rate
@@xanderyusuf7494 4k 60hz i believe.
Bro ultra wide is best
“Ultrafine”. Since I am using this monitor at home, I’ve no doubts that’s the best external monitor I ever use. Perfect match for my MacBook Pro and I don’t miss the 5k resolution from the iMacs on the office anymore.
The LG Ergo arm is a masterpiece! I have the 27QN880 and I love how smooth and fluent the movement is but I wish I had the 32” !
Totally agree mate. The QN is really nice, I had no issues with that, and I was worried that the 32" would feel too big but it doesn't feel much bigger at all.
What about the 27UN880?
I actually want a desk like that! It's beautiful!
I absolutely LOVE your whole set-up! I tried a similar one at home but looks nowhere NEAR this good! 👍🏼
'Tried a similar one but found out i'm not productive at all' :P
Ultrafine video! Thanks for pumping out great content each week 💪
And thank you for watching it each week Dan, it's appreciated!
worth every penny. this monitor is excellent. I bought mine over 6 months ago and I LOVE IT.
This is the best monitor review I've found. Thank you very much and subscribed!
The setup looks Ultra Fine.
I remember seeing the first flat pane on sale. It was about 32 inches. It went for $7999. My first 19" CRT monitor cost nearly two grand back in the day. These new displays are incredibly cheap and oh so nice. I have a 27" on my desk by LG. I think I'll move it to my other system in my bedroom and get this 32" for my desktop. It does look very nice. I've only had the 27" for a very short time and remember how overwhelmed I was by all the space coming from an old 22" display. But now I hunger for more space!
.
Thank you for the Ultra Fine rundown! I've been eying this monitor for a little while. I currently have the 34UM88C-P, and it's a great monitor, but it is just a little bit too wide. It is difficult to focus on the far edges. I'd definitely recommend getting a curved monitor if you are going above 32". Anyway, thanks for the review!
Ultrafine! I had no idea this monitor existed and now it's rocketed to the top of my list ^_^. Thanks for your great review!
Ultra fine! Great content as always
You convinced me into getting this monitor and I have no regrets. The review is exactly what I got, I had no good nor bad surprises, this is how much this review is on point. It fills my need perfectly (I'm a film/content editor), and I use it as gaming monitor too (I play all kinds of games, even FPS and it runs smoothly - I'm not into competitive gaming meaning I play COD and stuff but I don't really care about getting better). Movies are amazing on it too. Arm is great, connectivity too. Thanks your your review and great job.
It really is a great review. What's crazy to me is that I also bought an 34 Acer Nitro gaming monitor to compare both. 4k won over 1440p, not only because the LG was good enough for me as a casual gamer, but multi-tasking (I.e. having to have many windows open) is super easy and satisfying.
Thank you for your review.
Please does it have an inbuilt Webcam for video conference? I'm trying to purchase one for a remote work
@@sandragrace9124 no it does not have a built web cam. You can plug one to the USB port I suppose.
Still happy with it?
@@path_ethics Yes still using it everyday. I more into gaming now so i'm looking for a monitor that does better in gaming but still have some capacity in productivity.
Ultra fine! Thanks for the review. Currently researching monitors//tv’s and ran into your video. Excellent video. Thanks for posting it. S
Just ordered this and so excited! Mainly using it for lots of school work and definitely needing it for split screen usage. Going to be doing some gaming, but not on the competitive level.
One ultrafine video! Looks like quite the fantastic monitor for sure! Stellar setup and edit 😎
Thank you mate. Nice seeing around on here too.
Ultra fine 👌, The quality of your videos is incredible, very calm and relaxing, I am still impressed that you use an iPhone to record your videos and the quality they have
Thank you David.
UltraFine - just got mine yesterday replaced my 34 inch ultra wide. The 4K resolution is just awesome! Great video!!
I've been pretty happy with mine. I got it to replace an iMac work setup with a Macbook Air/External monitor combo until the next gen m1 pro devices come out, and I calibrated it to match the Air which worked out well, but with the newer screen tech coming out now, I hope they continue this form factor with additional features like mini led, higher refresh rates, and better HDR performance. The thing I really wish it had was easier brightness adjustment that was controllable through MacOS, because having to use the joystick to do 4 or 5 clicks instead of just hitting a key on the keyboard is a lot more tedious.
have you tried using lunar for brightness?
That's it, this one is a must-have. Amazing review as always man
Thank you mate! I appreciate it.
UltraFine is what this video is 👌🏻 I currently have a 35" 2k ultrawide and I love it, but lately I've been thinking that a 32" or larger 4K display would probably help me be more productive. I'm torn between this LG and the Dell U3219Q. The Dell is currently $250 USD more expensive and doesn't have the ERGO arm, so this is making the decision a lot easier.
Wonderful critique and product. The ergo arm is a game changer.
The flying lamp is amazing, i've never seen smth like this))
"ultrafine"
i love your videos.especially that story telling & cinematography
Thank you mate, I really appreciate that.
Great video. Covered everything I’d wanted to see. The brightness at 350 nits was originally a deterrent but seems like it’s mostly a non-issue! Thanks!
Thank you dude
You’re welcome! Definitely helps me in my decision to hopefully get this. One point that I’ve seen in other videos that you didn’t mention is that apparently it barely has any backlight bleed which is common in IPS monitors. Another good reason to get this!
Ur videos r amazing, i love watching desk setups n these stuff, fav accent too :)
I recently got the Samsung 49” odyssey. For work/study time I have two computers hooked up to it and put it in Picture in Picture mode and select the split screen option. In this mode I can full screen each side of the monitor with each computer. Amazing setup.
UltraFine. I got one of these for my wife and her M1 MacBook Air and I really like it. Since Apple doesn't currently make a display aside from the 6K this was the next best thing. I love the arm that makes it super adjustable and frees up desk space.
Does she have any issues with connecting it to her Air? Some reviewers were saying that it doesn't work with the M1 Macs, or doesn't work with the USB C with the M1s.
@@Firstfalconfree she has the ultra fine Ergo 32” and it connects via USB C and works perfectly
The timing for this video couldn't have been better, I am planning to get LG monitor this weekend and wanted a good review. Thanks for uploading mate!
ah mate, I hope it helped rather than added another to the list haha
Great video and love the arm provided with this ultra fine monitor
Ultrafine review…love your setup and thanks for the updated video. Keep up your great work!
Thank you dude
Strong content mate! Really enjoying the channel. I have a model 3 myself and i like to game on my ps5 👍
@@blueslime1703 what? 🙃
I bought this monitor and can confirm it is amazing. Great display for work and gaming. Would recommend! 'UltraFine' 👍
Thanks for watching too.
Ultrafine!! Loved your review…very well done. Thank you.
Brilliant video. You are awesome. Cheers for helping me choose a monitor.
I purchased this monitor and it’s really great but I’ve had similarly high quality monitors before so what I found exciting, yes I’m weird, is the monitor arm it comes on, it’s by far the absolute best monitor arm I’ve ever seen, it’s a very basic but incredibly smart design built to a very high quality. I highly recommend this monitor arm, they really should offer them as stand alone items, they would sell a ton and the monitor is pretty darn awesome too.
Totally agree. The arm is massively underrated haha. It’s so nice.
The monitor arm is better than the monitor itself, LOL, I found the color of this monitor need some improvement.
@@SpawnPoiint Bro, is it IPS or VA panel? How is backlight bleeding or glow around corners? Is this good enough to use in dark room? Mainly need it for stock trading, and those charts always have black background. Kindly suggest please.
Those arms, well - very similar ones (although not exactly from LG) are actually sold separately and quite a few people use them (including myself). You can just look for monitor arm.
Does the arm move lower as well?
Currently using the Dell U3011. It's a beautiful monitor to work on, but it's 10 years old now and it is CHONKY! The LG 32UN880 to me is the logical upgrade. Better resolution, better colour depth, thinner bezels, & it comes with an awesome mounting system to boot!
Refreshrate ? Resolution ? Is it oled please reply
Thanks for this video! I was looking for monitors but couldn’t find my way through the monitor jungle. Your video made me realize this is the exact monitor I need. Just purchased it from Amazon and can’t wait for it to be delivered.
That’s awesome! Enjoy mate.
Ultrafine! love all the elements in your setup!
I am about to do a monitor upgrade. I’ve been leaning to this size but I’ve also been considering a curved monitor to be more practicable at this size. After watching this “ultra fine” review I’ll have to do a bit more research…🤔
Cheers
“Ultra fine”. Excellent.
UltraFine!!! You just helped me make my choice!!! Thank you.... This will be my next monitor... great video!!!
Awesome thank you
Ultra Fine. Nic vid, man!! The extra bit of details are much appreciated.
Thank you Bryan mate.
Beautyfull Set up! I bought the LG Ultra Fine UN 880 in December for the 15. birthday of my son. It is a great Piece of tech! I am pretty jealous of his Monitor now: the 10 years old Eizo EV 2333 (only 23 inches, only Full HD) has to be enough for me. What a difference! Now I am waiting for the OLED Monitors to become less expensive. Dreaming of a 40 inch 4k LG OLED……
It’ll be awesome once the smaller OLED monitors are more reasonable, I agree.
UltraFine , This is an awesome monitor. I don't have desktop now and stopped on PC gaming as I have gaming consoles. Now I need to go back to PC Gaming 😊 btw that arm is so cool
Thank you mate
The quality of your content is top tierrrr!!! Had to subscribe the first time I watched a video of yours.
Wow, thank you mate.
Thanks for the UltraFine review!
Ultrafine! For those interested in potentially using this for professional content creation, I've seen a few people say their version wasn't particularly colour accurate so you may need to perform some calibration. Other than that it seems like pretty decent value when you compare it to similar models. I think the balance is the ergonomics and style of this monitor versus more conventional looking models in BenQ or Asus' ranges that offer more professional features like being pre-calibrated, having different colour profiles, more Adobe RGB coverage for print work etc. A 4k, 32" monitor that looks as good as this one with all those pro features would be around £1k typically. The PD3220U for example.
Is their a monitor as close as the Mac Monitor but as cheaper as this LG 4K Ultrafine? I'm trying to get one for content creation. And color accuracy is extremely important and i hate seeing pixels. I am very disappointed in my current Samsung non-4k screen especially with my retina display Macbook Pro.
@La_Primavera is your Samsung a 27" WQHD one? I'm looking for a new monitor and I can't choose between LG Ultrafine 4k 27" and Samsung WQHD 27". LG is a bit pricier but not much... do you really hate your Samsung?
I am personally using a Curved Samsung 49" LED - C49RG90SSU , 5120 x 1440 , 4ms response time , HDR1000 , 120 Hz , mounted on an Ergotron HX. One of the best screen i ever used in my life, i heavily recommend it.
Blacks are actually black on this screen , unlike ips panels , i almost forgot how nice it is.
UltraFine ✌🏼 Came for the monitor...left with the lights lol.
Came across this monitor yesterday and as algorithm would have it, came across your video today. Everything I was looking for while being straight to the point. Great content as always!
Thank you dude
Ultra Fine! really nice review man. Keep up the good work Chow.
Nice monitor. Still rocking dual monitors. Had been considering an ultrawide until the pandemic hit and working from home became a thing. I need two screens for work. Maybe when we go back to the office part-time, I may make the move but I need gaming ultrawide.
Always love your reviews and it's great to see someone from the UK doing these reviews too!
I wanted to ask if your MacBook had any issues when connected to the LG? I've heard Apple isn't the best with scaling if a screen's PPI isn't 110 or 220 so it can effect performance and also the screen size.
Did you have any of these issues?
I stayed to the end... an impressive setup. 👌I'll be saving this video for sure.
Thank you
Im in love with your set up men!
Gotta say this video really helps me. I'm building my first system and all i have left to find is the monitor And this helps me narrow it down. Not to an UltraFine degree but it helps.
Ultra Fine - I like your floating lamp
Ultrafine great video, thanks for posting it 👌
Clean setup. Informative and high quality video. Well done!
Thank you!
I'm rocking a Dell U3419W with the Dell MSA20 monitor arm. I was using dual 27" LG Ultragear 27GL850's for a while, but decided that a 34" 1440P ultrawide was the best sweet spot.
You have a really nice setup dude!
What speed are you getting on the SSD plugged to the monitor? I have the exact same "Ultrafine" monitor and seem to only get 2.0 speed.
Love the videos, just subscribed. You're worth watching and keep up the good work and fluidity of your speech.
Thank you!
Ultrafine ! Thanks for the great video
Clean setup🌎
Thank you mate
This has been the monitor the wife and I have been eyeing for awhile and after seeing your video we might just pull the trigger.
Great choice mate, I really like it! If you go for it, let me know how you get on (the arm on it is awesome!)
Let us know when the kill is confirmed 🤣
Ultra fine! Thanks for the video!
ULTRAFINE! thanks for this video, got convinced!
A 4K monitor is on another level
he should have setup dual. dual is perfect.
Good vid went to see the M1 MacBook yesterday at curry’s pc world was amazed definitely going to get it
Proper nice that mate. Go for it.
Ultra fine
Thank you. Awesome video.
Considering this monitor.
Great, in fact, I’d say….ultra fine review! Gonna get this monitor. Thanks!
Great video as per usual! ‘UltraFine” content indeed. I’ve been eyeing this monitor for a while - still not sure if I should splurge on the 5k 27” though. Built in webcam and keyboard controls really worth it at double the price…🤷🏼♂️
I love the look of that one too mate. I’d love to try it out.
I still can’t believe you record all your videos with an iPhone! Video quality is way too good! BTW, can you do like car reviews! Like review different brand of cars and all that!
Thanks mate! I love using the iPhone as it's easy and people are amazed by it haha. I've done Tesla reviews (my own car, not others), and I'd love to do more. Maybe I should reach out to some car manufacturers...
@@SpawnPoiint Sure do mate! Other car manufacturers may give you a car for a video considering the amount of subscribers you have !
As a lifelong android user, I often feel that android is just there to keep Apple honest (android software is better though).
Great video man!! You should definitely do some voice for commercials because you have the voice for it. I actually just finished watching this video and & i really fell for this monitor so i've decided to get one of my own! Thankyou & cheers man!! Keep up the good work.
Ultrafine, great videos! Have you had anything from RUclips for topping 100k subs? Well done for that you’ve done it in no time at all! 👍🏻
UltraFine channel!
Haha thanks mate
Great upgrade for your desk! Whilst it is expensive, like you say, it’s worth spending that little bit more for something that you’re going to be spending all day day in front of.
Exactly mate. If you’re using it you’re getting your money’s worth.
That’s some “Ultrafine” audio you’ve got there! Seriously, the sound in this video is so crisp and clear!
love how aesthetic.
Funnily enough the only thing I do not like on my LG monitor is that toggle button/switch lol.
I agree that arm is something else.
Still using dual Apple thunderbolt displays 🙃 nice choice though I’ve always thought about replacing my monitors with this exact model. Thanks SpawnPoiint for the video!
Thank you mate. That's a solid setup too!
UKTRA FINE!! Great video, thanks! Much appreciated!
Your video is so smoothing to eyes and ears also. You have organized a Great set-up !
Wishes all the way and Thanks & regards !
Thank you for the support 🙏
Loving this new ultra fine setup. ☺️ Been thinking of switching from my iMac to a Mac Mini but can’t find the right monitor combo. This might have solved my problem! Gave you a shoutout in my latest upload reviewing the new Siri Remote. 👍🏻
been using the same 'Ultrafine' monitor for 4 months, its awesome!
Ah mate that's great! I can't believe I held off this long.
how much does it cost?
UltraFine. Great Vid. Awesome setup. Cheers from Colombia
Cheers mate.
What a gorgeous desk set-up! Wow! :)
Thank you.
UltraFine! I still can't believe the fact that you're using an iPhone! It's really good quality! Do you plan on getting a camera in the future tho?
Thanks mate. I do have an A7ii camera, but I've just got used to using my iPhone over the last 18 months that I have no plan in changing yet. I mean, I'm not saying I won't ever do it, but I'm really happy with the results of this phone.
@@SpawnPoiint hey mate, I know this is whole different topic but I wanted to know if I could use the LG Nanocell for my PS5 but I don’t know which nanocell to get. Please help me out on which one to acquire.
@@DB-ladybug he made a video using a LG nano cell tv you should watch that.
@@benreynolds2050 ok thanks
@@SpawnPoiint yep, the newer iphones have unbelievable cameras
I already have the wildly popular LG 27inch 4K display (the one with the 1xusb-c por)t owned by a lot of macbook users. This 32-inch is tempting! Are there anyone in the same boat as me, that has transitioned from 27inch to this 32-inch model? Is it worth the trouble and money for an upgrade? Everything seems to be the same except that extra 5 inch real-state....
i really liked this desk setup.
Awesome setup! GREAT video! Perfect... A truly slick production 😃
Thanks mate.
@@SpawnPoiint I mean it, superb... and may I ask which speakers those are? Nicely styled!
For a 32” monitor I really think they should have went for 5k resolution and a higher contrast ratio but, probably, this could have increased the price substantially. I wonder if this monitor would benefit from external colour calibration? Anyway thanks for the UltraFine review. Cheers…
I'm using the Samsung M7 smart monitor and so far the best in the market considering the price of 400usd.
Did you find it too dim?
Thank you!! Fantastic content.
Wow you're channel exploded! Great job man
Thank you dude
Where did you buy it from? I can’t find it in stock anywhere!
it's in stock now.
"Ultrafine". I got this option to use as a monitor. another one is one of the new imacs because of their camera and microphones, but it's better to move your screen at every angle you need (portrait or panoramic).
Which did you like better between the new iMac 24 inch (I presume) or this ultrafine monitor? I am curious about the display quality from your point of view.
@@user-df1gs1kf8w I think I'll go with the 4k monitor to plug it with the macbook and pair it with a 4k camera from logitech or a dslr, plus a good microphone.
@@richardrodriguez9903 Interesting choice, I think for my personal use case I'll try out the new iMac. I have a 32 inch 4k from Acer and it is too fatigue for my eyes. Despite that I oddly think I will find the 24 inch too small perhaps, but maybe its high ppi will make up for it somehow. I don't know how to feel about 27 inches if it will also be fatigue for me.
@@user-df1gs1kf8w nice choice too.
Is this comparable to the iMac M1 display?
I’m considering getting a Mac Mini ($600) and coupling with this display (now $500) for a total of $1,100 Vs the iMac base model for $1,250. Any thoughts/suggestions? I already have a trackpad/keyboard, I guess all I'm missing is a webcam and speakers.
Great! So simplistic!
Ultra Fine! Nice review. I ordered one of these. I have other LG monitors and TVs, so I trust them. The Ergo Arm is what sold me.
