It really is a great review. What's crazy to me is that I also bought an 34 Acer Nitro gaming monitor to compare both. 4k won over 1440p, not only because the LG was good enough for me as a casual gamer, but multi-tasking (I.e. having to have many windows open) is super easy and satisfying. I purchased this monitor and it’s really great but I’ve had similarly high quality monitors before so what I found exciting, yes I’m weird, is the monitor arm it comes on, it’s by far the absolute best monitor arm I’ve ever seen, it’s a very basic but incredibly smart design built to a very high quality. I highly recommend this monitor arm, they really should offer them as stand alone items, they would sell a ton and the monitor is pretty darn awesome too.

Beautyfull Set up! I bought the LG Ultra Fine UN 880 in December for the 15. birthday of my son. It is a great Piece of tech! Now I am waiting for the OLED Monitors to become less expensive. Dreaming of a 40 inch 4k LG OLED……
I remember seeing the first flat pane on sale. It was about 32 inches. It went for $7999. My first 19" CRT monitor cost nearly two grand back in the day. These new displays are incredibly cheap and oh so nice. I have a 27" on my desk by LG. I think I'll move it to my other system in my bedroom and get this 32" for my desktop. It does look very nice. I've only had the 27" for a very short time and remember how overwhelmed I was by all the space coming from an old 22" display. But now I hunger for more space! .
Ultrafine! For those interested in potentially using this for professional content creation, I've seen a few people say their version wasn't particularly colour accurate so you may need to perform some calibration. Other than that it seems like pretty decent value when you compare it to similar models. I think the balance is the ergonomics and style of this monitor versus more conventional looking models in BenQ or Asus' ranges that offer more professional features like being pre-calibrated, having different colour profiles, more Adobe RGB coverage for print work etc. A 4k, 32" monitor that looks as good as this one with all those pro features would be around £1k typically. I've been pretty happy with mine. I got it to replace an iMac work setup with a Macbook Air/External monitor combo until the next gen m1 pro devices come out, and I calibrated it to match the Air which worked out well, but with the newer screen tech coming out now, I hope they continue this form factor with additional features like mini led, higher refresh rates, and better HDR performance. The thing I really wish it had was easier brightness adjustment that was controllable through MacOS, because having to use the joystick to do 4 or 5 clicks instead of just hitting a key on the keyboard is a lot more tedious.
What a well produced video with no "what's up guys" or flash bang wallop music just straight down to the reason for watching it - which is a joy in itself. At 2.43 I found myself shouting "Hallelujah Brother" as you pointed out the release button. Online chats with LG both a Bot (totally useless for my question) and a human being (not quite as bad but far from good) failed to informed me how I could release the monitor. Being a retired Mechanical Engineer I try to think things through before I actually start and as I am installing this up against some over counter cabinets I wanted to know how to release the monitor before I actually clipped it in. As the help line was useless I thought well I'll take the monitor out and have a look behind - voila, there it was the release button. LG should promote your video and pay you a king's ransom to answer questions on their behalf so thanks for confirmed what I found out I just wish I had tuned in earlier!
Great video. Covered everything I’d wanted to see. The brightness at 350 nits was originally a deterrent but seems like it’s mostly a non-issue! Thanks!
You’re welcome! Definitely helps me in my decision to hopefully get this. One point that I’ve seen in other videos that you didn’t mention is that apparently it barely has any backlight bleed which is common in IPS monitors. Another good reason to get this!
Gotta say this video really helps me. I'm building my first system and all i have left to find is the monitor And this helps me narrow it down. Not to an UltraFine degree but it helps.
Thank you for the Ultra Fine rundown! I've been eying this monitor for a little while. I currently have the 34UM88C-P, and it's a great monitor, but it is just a little bit too wide. It is difficult to focus on the far edges. I'd definitely recommend getting a curved monitor if you are going above 32". Anyway, thanks for the review!
Thanks for this video! I was looking for monitors but couldn’t find my way through the monitor jungle. Your video made me realize this is the exact monitor I need. Just purchased it from Amazon and can’t wait for it to be delivered.
"Ultrafine". I got this option to use as a monitor. another one is one of the new imacs because of their camera and microphones, but it's better to move your screen at every angle you need (portrait or panoramic).
Which did you like better between the new iMac 24 inch (I presume) or this ultrafine monitor? I am curious about the display quality from your point of view.
@@user-df1gs1kf8w I think I'll go with the 4k monitor to plug it with the macbook and pair it with a 4k camera from logitech or a dslr, plus a good microphone.
@@richardrodriguez9903 Interesting choice, I think for my personal use case I'll try out the new iMac. I have a 32 inch 4k from Acer and it is too fatigue for my eyes. Despite that I oddly think I will find the 24 inch too small perhaps, but maybe its high ppi will make up for it somehow. I don't know how to feel about 27 inches if it will also be fatigue for me.
Is this comparable to the iMac M1 display? I’m considering getting a Mac Mini ($600) and coupling with this display (now $500) for a total of $1,100 Vs the iMac base model for $1,250. Any thoughts/suggestions? I already have a trackpad/keyboard, I guess all I'm missing is a webcam and speakers.
Just ordered this and so excited! Mainly using it for lots of school work and definitely needing it for split screen usage. Going to be doing some gaming, but not on the competitive level.
I am about to do a monitor upgrade. I’ve been leaning to this size but I’ve also been considering a curved monitor to be more practicable at this size. After watching this “ultra fine” review I’ll have to do a bit more research…🤔 Cheers
Ultrafine. At the moment I am budgeting for this screen. As well as the MacBook pro m1 pro. I've been watching alot of reviews and this screen is Awesome
UltraFine is what this video is 👌🏻 I currently have a 35" 2k ultrawide and I love it, but lately I've been thinking that a 32" or larger 4K display would probably help me be more productive. I'm torn between this LG and the Dell U3219Q. The Dell is currently $250 USD more expensive and doesn't have the ERGO arm, so this is making the decision a lot easier.
Great upgrade for your desk! Whilst it is expensive, like you say, it’s worth spending that little bit more for something that you’re going to be spending all day day in front of.
I was between Samsung Odyssey G9 and LG 55 CX and this one. I like this one but unfortunately 32 is not big enough for my work. I wish it has bigger version.
Me too! 32 has a good aspect ratio of 16:9 but it is too small. 34 Ultrawide is also too small cuz vertically it is even smaller than 32; it is comparable to two 27's side by side. 43 has the same aspect ratio of 16:9 as 32 but it's just too big. What we really need is a 38 with 16:9, but almost nobody makes that.
32 has been big enough for me sitting at 75 cm from it. I use it to edit videos and photos for the publicity of my online shop. I guess 38 would be really nice. But never felt 32 was “small”
Great video man!! You should definitely do some voice for commercials because you have the voice for it. I actually just finished watching this video and & i really fell for this monitor so i've decided to get one of my own! Thankyou & cheers man!! Keep up the good work.
I already have the wildly popular LG 27inch 4K display (the one with the 1xusb-c por)t owned by a lot of macbook users. This 32-inch is tempting! Are there anyone in the same boat as me, that has transitioned from 27inch to this 32-inch model? Is it worth the trouble and money for an upgrade? Everything seems to be the same except that extra 5 inch real-state....
I'm rocking a 32'' LG Ultragear, Nano IPS monitor. Having a large monitor isn't for everybody...but it works really well for me and my productivity needs. "Ultrafine"!
I'm rocking a Dell U3419W with the Dell MSA20 monitor arm. I was using dual 27" LG Ultragear 27GL850's for a while, but decided that a 34" 1440P ultrawide was the best sweet spot. You have a really nice setup dude!
Always love your reviews and it's great to see someone from the UK doing these reviews too! I wanted to ask if your MacBook had any issues when connected to the LG? I've heard Apple isn't the best with scaling if a screen's PPI isn't 110 or 220 so it can effect performance and also the screen size. Did you have any of these issues?
For a 32” monitor I really think they should have went for 5k resolution and a higher contrast ratio but, probably, this could have increased the price substantially. I wonder if this monitor would benefit from external colour calibration? Anyway thanks for the UltraFine review. Cheers…
Still using dual Apple thunderbolt displays 🙃 nice choice though I’ve always thought about replacing my monitors with this exact model. Thanks SpawnPoiint for the video!

@@user-df1gs1kf8w nice choice too.
The flying lamp is amazing, i've never seen smth like this))
Ultra Fine - I like your floating lamp

Ultra Fine is what I think when I look at my wife's USB-C port!
😂
@@blueslime1980 nah it’s just a cool joke
@@blueslime1980 are you my wife?!
These monitors have problems breaking down the port. Inly 1 usbc can play the 4k
You need a mini-jack actually
Just ordered this and so excited! Mainly using it for lots of school work and definitely needing it for split screen usage. Going to be doing some gaming, but not on the competitive level.
UltraFine channel!
Haha thanks mate
I’ve just ordered the LG27UP, hope I don’t regret it , fancied the 32880 but didn’t think I needed that much real estate
i actually got the 32 ultrafine, i returned for 27 and im happy for it
@@archmad that’s good to know , arrives this week
I am about to do a monitor upgrade. I’ve been leaning to this size but I’ve also been considering a curved monitor to be more practicable at this size. After watching this “ultra fine” review I’ll have to do a bit more research…🤔
Cheers
Looked up "budget monitor", found your video.. googled the model and now I'm in love with something I defenitly don't need, lol. Did love the video
Oh damn. Sorry, I don’t think I said or wrote budget anywhere either.
Great upgrade for your desk! Whilst it is expensive, like you say, it’s worth spending that little bit more for something that you’re going to be spending all day day in front of.
Exactly mate. If you’re using it you’re getting your money’s worth.
Ultra Fine! really nice review man. Keep up the good work Chow.
Strong content mate! Really enjoying the channel. I have a model 3 myself and i like to game on my ps5 👍
@@blueslime1980 what? 🙃
Ultrafine! love all the elements in your setup!
Your video is so smoothing to eyes and ears also. You have organized a Great set-up !
Wishes all the way and Thanks & regards !
Thank you for the support 🙏
Good vid went to see the M1 MacBook yesterday at curry’s pc world was amazed definitely going to get it
Proper nice that mate. Go for it.
Wow you're channel exploded! Great job man
Thank you dude
I'm using the Samsung M7 smart monitor and so far the best in the market considering the price of 400usd.
Did you find it too dim?
this is called quality content and explanation
Thank you
Always love your reviews and it's great to see someone from the UK doing these reviews too!
I wanted to ask if your MacBook had any issues when connected to the LG? I've heard Apple isn't the best with scaling if a screen's PPI isn't 110 or 220 so it can effect performance and also the screen size.
Did you have any of these issues?
Ultrafine review…love your setup and thanks for the updated video. Keep up your great work!
Thank you dude
For a 32” monitor I really think they should have went for 5k resolution and a higher contrast ratio but, probably, this could have increased the price substantially. I wonder if this monitor would benefit from external colour calibration? Anyway thanks for the UltraFine review. Cheers…
Thanks for the UltraFine review!
What speed are you getting on the SSD plugged to the monitor? I have the exact same "Ultrafine" monitor and seem to only get 2.0 speed.
Great video and love the arm provided with this ultra fine monitor
Where did you buy it from? I can’t find it in stock anywhere!
it's in stock now.
Ultra fine!
7:12 Yo-bro it's easy to be fearless while sitting in front of screen all day. There's not much to be afraid of (except spawn spiders and such).
Wonderful critique and product. The ergo arm is a game changer.
Still using dual Apple thunderbolt displays 🙃 nice choice though I’ve always thought about replacing my monitors with this exact model. Thanks SpawnPoiint for the video!
Thank you mate. That's a solid setup too!
Geunily went from this, cancelled my Samsung g7 and bought this. I don’t need a gaming monitor, I need one suited for office work and editing. This is far more suitable. Great review! Oh and the arm looks awesome!
Loving this new ultra fine setup. ☺️ Been thinking of switching from my iMac to a Mac Mini but can’t find the right monitor combo. This might have solved my problem! Gave you a shoutout in my latest upload reviewing the new Siri Remote. 👍🏻
The arm is just a killer. Perfect for more desk space and saving room on the work station.
Great video as per usual! ‘UltraFine” content indeed. I’ve been eyeing this monitor for a while - still not sure if I should splurge on the 5k 27” though. Built in webcam and keyboard controls really worth it at double the price…🤷🏼♂️
I love the look of that one too mate. I’d love to try it out.
Ultra Fine. Nic vid, man!! The extra bit of details are much appreciated.
Thank you Bryan mate.
How do you find the 4k in Windows with scaling - any issues?
I was able to get this one refurbished for about 500 dollars and it’s amazing
That's a great price!
"Ultrafine." Thanks for the review. Good information, although I'm still tortured as to whether I get a 32" 4k or a 35" UWQHD as my primary work monitor (leaving a 27" QHD) as my secondary fuckoff/entertainment monitor.
Thanks for this UltraFine overview!
Thanks for watching too.
“Ultrafine”
