Dude, change the title of your video. You break down the product in the title with clickbait and in the video the biggest problems you have with the screen could all been detected if you did some research before making the purchase... I also still get the feeling that you think it's a decent screen, which does not match your clickbait title at all...
You cant say thats a negative of the monitor to attach to your desk..you would be in the same position for any monitor arm. If you don't want the arm don't get one.
Sorry, I understand the urge to create contents, but come on.... I own this TV for 6 months+ 1. My HDR doesn't go green when it switches(I have a PS5), probably your own unit is faulty 2. This is actually an easy fix for the HDR not showing your game. You actually have to turn HDR off on the monitor prior to loading your game because your games preference is still set to SDR, this will display a blank screen as you see because the monitor itself is set to HDR not SDR. Once you change the games visual from SDR to HDR you can then change the monitors setting to HDR and it will work just fine.
Yo my guy I always appreciate people taking the time to make content but I think some of your issues with the monitor are user error and or a faulty device. You gotta know what you are buying. The issue with the monitor arm? The only issue I've had was I wasn't too happy with the color accuracy but that took 5 mins to fix.
After watching this video, I have just finally decided to buy it :) Good image quality, no need for vesa, enough for gaming (44 60HZ and 5ms)...I think that for a multipurpose monitor, that´s what I´m lookin for (photo / video editing + gaming + multimedia) it´s perfect
Productivity means color accuracy (which is insanely good btw), build quality and resolution. This is for photo/ video editors people not gamers or TV watching.
Thank you for this comment! Just bought this monitor for editing and music production, and this stupid clickbait title got me scared... thanks for reassuring me!
Do you own this monitor? I am looking to buy one since it's one of the very few that have a polarizer layer that should eliminate the IPS glow at angles... can you confirm this?
Just want to mention that the brightness is absolutely fine for serious editing and colour grading. If you need more, your room is way to bright for accurate work. My monitors max out at about 400 and after calibration they run at less than 50% brightness.
i got the monitor and for me to code it is actually partly too bright. i had an eizo before and since eizo also uses the lg panel i thought it would not be a problem but the eizo i could set much darker. will probably change the lg but as i said only because it is too bright. otherwise everything is top. if someone has an idea how i can get the monitor a tad darker it will stay. flux is already installed.
Clearly a faulty unit in regards to the HDR issue. This is obviously not for every unit. Some of the issues you raised are totally pointless to raise and just seems like you're mentioning it for the sake of content and views.
This is the dumbest monitor review i have ever watch, and one of the main reason we should have the dislike count back. The ergo stand has problem has issue? It is a clamp, you should make sure you have a suitable desk to use it. 🙄
Does anyone know how I can update the firmware on this monitor? Ben mentioned that he had gone through the process but I cannot just find a way to do it. There is just a useless on screen control software that can be downloaded from lg website or App Store that literally does nothing firmware wise. I am having issues with my USB C port and thought a firmware update might get rid of the issue
just to be clear. LG says that it supports HDR content. They did some software magic to make the screen pretend that its showing you HDR. I don't see official HDR Display standard (set by VESA) anywhere for this device. Even HDR400 (the lowest HDR display standard) requires 400 nits of brightness. So don't be surprised if this doesn't support real HDR.
No, it was a user error. You have to change your gaming settings to HDR first before you switch to HDR. His was still in SDR mode that’s why it showed a gray screen.
This kind of video pisses me off. I JUST care about feedback on productivity, screen real estate usage, legibility of various text sizes. This is anything but.

I bought the monitor after watching your video and I am happy with it until now. In fact, I am thinking about getting a second one. The Support is amazing. My table is not a good table for this kind of support/clamp, since the edges are angled, but it worked well in the end.
The clamp issue is a none issue. One needs to do their research before buying something. Don't like the clamp, get a different desk or a monitor with a stand. Don't blame the mfg because your desk is ill designed to work with this mounting system. As for hdr, no issues here with windows switching back and forth. I believe there was a setting for this in the monitor config to auto switch.
You’re an idiot for this one. Poor stand design is not excusable for a $700 monitor. If I can spend $40 to get a different VESA mount that is compatible with any desk AND have more adjustability than the original stand? That’s a joke.

For your purpose you should buy a DualUp. Also, the silly bit about desk clamps.... You should have thought about that before you bought this. Personally I have FIVE desk clamps at the back of my desk. Also, it comes with a grommet to screw in your desk if you want to keep the backboard. If you don't want to screw anything in your desk then remove the silly functionally pointless backboard - and get a DualUp. And if you don't want both, get over your high horse and stop complaining!
I am trying to decide for a home office, lots of spreadsheet work also excel and a second program to cross reference against. I initially thought a 34 ultrawide as desk is too small for dual setup. However, thinkibg a 32 16:9 4k moniyor might be best to alsonjncorporate some PS5 play. I play the odd shooter like COD or Division. But mostly F1 24 F1 manager and fifa. 32 or 34 is the question.
Is this a good monitor or not? I am confused. He says it isn't and then he puts links to buy it. I was looking at this one and PA279CRV. Which one do you guys recommend? Is this still a good one to go with? Or is there a better alternative? TIA
The guy obviously didn't do any research or read the specs before hand. I mean the problem with the mount, it clearly shows in one of the product videos what issues you might have.
I need to correct you on the part where you mention the stand 2mins into the review. This stand will allow you to upgrade into a 34' with no problem - I just did this with my wifes 27' LG ergo monitor and she is now using the LG 34wn780-b on the same stand. I've used the extra stand for my own LG 34GP950G-B and it works perfectly there as well ..
I am going to get this monitor, but I have a question someone might answer, since i use a winows laptop and macbook air m1 i would regularly switch the usb-c, does it work seamlessly? currently on hdmi its just plug in an everything works, is it the same with usb-c connection?
I run a Macbook M1 Pro 14" over USB-C, and a 2015 Macbook over which I run either Thunderolt-DisplayPort or HDMI out to HDMI in. IIRC, the HDR feature works best over HDMI 4K. The LG 32 Ergo comes with a 4K HDMI cable with ethernet builit in.
What about preparuje and exporting videos in rec 709 when Iwony dci-p3? Do you change the gamut or does your video software automatically manage it? Resolve, premiere?
If you have a desk, where you can't mount a monitor arm, don't buy a monitor with an monitor arm, that is the most weird argument, I have heard for a while, it like if you shoe size is 10, then size 7 shoes won' fit. So don't buy these size 7 shoes.
The only thing he complains about that is even remotely related to productivity, is the PiP functionality. Even for this he talks about showing his gaming consoles side-by-side... on a 16:9 screen. What a joke.
1. no one is buying a 60Hz $700 monitor to game on. 2. There is No problem with the way it mounts, you don't buy a mount like this if it won't work with your desk. Just see Vieled's remarks. 100% spot on. Terrible video. thumbs down.

I was about to purchase it thinking I can install the on-screen controller app on my both devices and use split-screen functionality from two different sources. However, I verified from multiple sources (including LG customer service) that PBP is not supported by this monitor at all.
Not true, my PS5 plays perfectly with HDR and everything else works as expected and it does it very well, it's a very bright monitor it connects my MacBook M1 pro 14 inch and powers/charges it too, it also suffers no light bleed at the edges and has very accurate colour reproduction making it an excellent choice for video editing or photographers it's the best monitor I ever bought

Excellent video! Thank you for sharing. I haven't seen any documentation on how low can it be positioned. Can it go all the way to the floor of the desk?
The reason why you are wathching everything in SDR is because the HDMI is 2.0, that doesn´t support HDR only HMDI 2.1 supports HDR Native or if you use the Displayport (in this monitor is 1.4) it supports native HDR to 10 bits, that´s the reason why this monitor include HDR Effect, if you are playing with HDMI port you must tunr on this effect mode, I have the same monitor and I have discovered this, only I hate it doesn´t have HDMI 2.1

Also, it comes with a grommet to screw in your desk if you want to keep the backboard. If you don't want to screw anything in your desk then remove the silly functionally pointless backboard - and get a DualUp. And if you don't want both, get over your high horse and stop complaining!
Dual up is not 4k monitor, it is Quad hd
can I use this with my iMac 2012 5k 27in ??? my screen broke on it and I need a secondary screen to use as my only screen
???
What keyboard u were using in this video..? Starting of video
TIA
Specs are pretty similar. Depends on price and if you prefer the ergo stand.
The guy obviously didn't do any research or read the specs before hand. I mean the problem with the mount, it clearly shows in one of the product videos what issues you might have.
Has there been a new upgrade release model to market this year?
I need to correct you on the part where you mention the stand 2mins into the review.
This stand will allow you to upgrade into a 34' with no problem - I just did this with my wifes 27' LG ergo monitor and she is now using the LG 34wn780-b on the same stand.
I've used the extra stand for my own LG 34GP950G-B and it works perfectly there as well ..
I am puzzled. Did we talk about productivity ?
Sorry but dude, pick up a dictionary and look up the words productivity and gaming. Your video title is BS and your content is weak!
Will it charge MacBook if you plug in type-c cable?
Click bait. Don’t waste your time.
I am going to get this monitor, but I have a question someone might answer, since i use a winows laptop and macbook air m1 i would regularly switch the usb-c, does it work seamlessly? currently on hdmi its just plug in an everything works, is it the same with usb-c connection?
I own the 2k 27, and yes- USB C charging and displaying will work on the m1 Macs
Lg 32un880 and lg 32un 880-b Are same ?
Does it have a matte screen finish or a glossy one
What about preparuje and exporting videos in rec 709 when Iwony dci-p3? Do you change the gamut or does your video software automatically manage it? Resolve, premiere?
What is the difference between 27un880-b and this monitor?
I think is just the back of the monitor. B = BLACK and W-WHITE...
Yo bro that monitor is not designed for gaming
so is lg 27up850 sharper& better?
Anyone who pronounces H as "HAITCH" immediately loses credibility...
Turn off HDR on your console and then use the HDR effect from the menu on the monitor. Fixed the issue for me.
Click bait title.
1. no one is buying a 60Hz $700 monitor to game on. 2. There is No problem with the way it mounts, you don't buy a mount like this if it won't work with your desk. Just see Vieled's remarks. 100% spot on. Terrible video. thumbs down.
is it better than lg up850-w?
Can i use xbox with it
Every review said this is not for gamers? Why would you buy it for gaming?
Guys who compare Dual up with UltraFine, please also compare QHD and 4K. I also compared this ones, and bought two 4k UltraFine monitors. Do not listen anybody, just buy it))
Do you own a Nintendo Switch? I highly recommend checking one out and reviewing it
wrong information, there is NO picture-by-picture functionality in this monitor whatsoever. You can not get it by using on-screen controller app either. So simply not available. I was about to purchase it thinking I can install the on-screen controller app on my both devices and use split-screen functionality from two different sources. However, I verified from multiple sources (including LG customer service) that PBP is not supported by this monitor at all.
Dude, you need to update your title to
“CLICK BAIT, I NEED ATTENTION PLEASE!”
It's good for a cheap monitor❤ buy it, the best pc monitor is lg c2 40 ince
just because it did not fit your needs it doesn't make it a bad monitor. the title is misleading. you just made the wrong decision.
Not true, my PS5 plays perfectly with HDR and everything else works as expected and it does it very well, it's a very bright monitor it connects my MacBook M1 pro 14 inch and powers/charges it too, it also suffers no light bleed at the edges and has very accurate colour reproduction making it an excellent choice for video editing or photographers it's the best monitor I ever bought
why would someone buy a 1000:1contrast when 3000:1 has been a average spec?
Not for an IPS display.
3000:1 correspond to VA matrix only. IPS max value 2000:1 for dell u3223 and 1000-1300:1 for others.
All I know is I was able to get a 32BL750 for $299 overstock, and most dont know its identical to 32UL750 and it has 3x the settings for tweaking than my copetitive samsung. Add a ITU-R BT.2020 color file and magic! @@YarG-cf6fj
"for Productivity"
Talks more about gaming-issues and installmentwarnings than Productivity. On top of that, they aren't all legit problems.
Clickbait title.
This video shows why RUclips needs to reactivate dislike counts. XD The reasons why you shouldnt buy this monitor, are hilarious! Sorry kid, but I can't take you serious.
so you're telling people do not buy it because it didn't meet your VERY specific requirements even though for the vast majority of people it actually is a great monitor for productivity? come on!
BTW for people unable to see likes/dislikes ratio it is now (Dec 17 2022) Likes:631 / Dislikes: 1.1K (including mine)
Any idea on cheap 1440p monitors?
This Video Is the perfect example of "Why we need Dislike count on Videos"
bro got them magnifying goggles on
Video about user error.
HDR 4k content - User either failed to change the settings in his games consoles or had incompatible cables.
Desk stand - I just laughed at this complaint as it is so incredibly stupid. You can't blame LG for not DYOR!
This unfair about LG actually it’s very cheap for people they don’t have enough to pay for Samsung. This lg it’s great for me
Nonsense review. I have this monitor and experience none of the at times self made issues you seem to have with it. Its a fantastic monitor and there is nothing wrong at all with the Ergo stand. Puzzling review. Very puzzling.
This LG monitor uses a BOE panel. For LG panels, it's better to go for Dell U3223.
I honestly don't think its the same monitor he's using to show the things cause the lg 32UN880 -b has a black back this has a white hmmmm interesting right I could be wrong but all the videos and the pictures it always has the black back of it
Same monitor, Amazon UK have a white colour exclusive
Dude went on blaming this product for his own personal issues.
This is a perfect monitor for productivity by far; so many features straight out of the box. Completely false and Misleading review.
There are many other in-depth review videos. please check those to make up your mind, not this one.
I wish they bring back the dislike numbers.
You bought a 60hz for gaming?….
