No to both, main reason I say no to castlevania studio is because I don’t trust them to simply do berserk exactly like to is in the manga, they would likely change stuff here and there. Studio trigger is even worse, there style is absolutely nothing like berserk in any way shape or form. Choosing them would be a big big big mistake. Honestly the only studio I can think of that may do it well is maybe wit, they shown they can do animes that style-wise are comparable to berserk. Vinland being the best example, only problem is they’d probably start the show and not follow through with it knowing them
@@Casso2611 Studio WIT could be a good fit if they don't go bankrupt, but I don't think Powerhouse (Castlevania animation team) would probably touch on the gay undertones behind Griffith and Guts more along side with the discrimination that Casca faced before joining Griffith and working her way up, but I don't think they'd change enough to worsen the series. I really like all the different accents they did for the English version, and the subtle comedy was also very good, they knew when to make things silly and when to take them seriously. Us the art style and animation was really smooth.
@@Casso2611 well best candidate is either mappa ufotable or wit studio but they got alot of projects this year and next year so i doubt they will pick it up maybe in a couple of years
@@usurpererenyeagar4587 big no to mappa and ufotable, mappa are hit and miss. They either bring their A game or do a mediocre job, they’re far too busy. I don’t want ufotable because they tend to animate mangas in their own style, we want muira’s style and no one else’s. As well ufotable is kinda just overkill ngl, berserk wouldn’t need animation quite as dynamic as that
Berserk 97 is still the only adaptation. A damn shame that it never continued

Is it only me who thinks the movies were good or atleast decent, especially the advent, the visuals were fire and we got to see our main guy skull knight
The first and second one had some cgi issues, but the third one was great
The movies looked good it’s just the 2016 anime that picked it up was complete horseshit
With the upcoming remaster of the films and the addition to scenes from the manga like the bonfire of dreams (NO MENTION OF WYALD THO or the Bakiraka in the tunnels) Though I can't complain. We all are so lucky Miura told a friend Berserks story and because of that we'll see it end.
Here's the thing, fines aren't in for 'fine' visuals. The bar is set real high.
I’ve always loved the movies, sure it can be a little rough in a couple of moments, but like you said, the third movie was just fantastic, in fact the movies were how I got into berserk… when I was 14 years old 💀
And then there's the manga which will exceed your expectations

The movies are great. Especially the third one. The animation could've been a lot better but it's well stylized and lighted.
Yeah I agree I think this still the best animation of Berserk but the problem of them is that their rush a lot of important part in the manga especially about Guts's childhood
They are good but only for a second watching, first Berserk experience should be either the manga or the 97 anime(due to the amazing soundtrack and overall great adaptation). The movies skip a lot of character development.

Just a couple weeks ago I started watching Berserk 1997 and tbh I liked it so much that I watched Berserk 2016-2017. Yes I knew the reputation 2016 had but I liked the story so much that I was willing to suffer through that anime, and now I’m reading the manga and boy has it changed my view on anime/manga

I hope you read it from start to finish because both berserk 1997 and berserk 2016 (especially 2016) change major stuff that happens in the manga making the story in the anime way worse.

Man i remember watching the opening and I was so hype then i saw the animation 💀
i feel like David Production should've adapted this. here's why:
-art style would be faithful to the manga. if you've watched JJBA or Fire Force, the art style is *extremely* reminiscent to the manga's art style, and has remained consistent with it.
-eargasm. i mean come on. DP is famous for putting *b a s s* on their sfx and still sound good.
-has the schedule to animate things properly. if you want MAPPA to animate Berserk, it would sound good at first, considering their animation quality is fire. but you should also consider their schedule.
-they don't use CGI that often, but when they do, they're either pretty ok, barely noticable, or unnoticable at all.
-pretty good visuals. while not as good as ufotable's, take a look at Golden Wind's visuals and Stone Ocean's visuals. they've improved in a span of 2 years.
-DP seems like they're slowly not shying to show off some brutality. they out here animating poor Sorbet's corpse chopped to pieces while Wit couldn't even animate Levi's abs💀
-dedication. they tend to put character development while staying faithful to the manga.
I agree with you, and I would also add:
- the amount of cut content from the Anime would be nowhere near the amount of stuff they cut from 97, the movies and... this + the few things that they cut are for the most part superfluous and don't affect the story (for example the Pucci pose during the Heavy Weather arc)
- in the music department, they always make absolute bangers + they could theoretically bring back Hirasawa and/or use his songs (if they can have stuff like Freek'n You or Roundabout as the endings, bringing back Guts' theme or Forces shouldn't be that much of a problem)
- they work closely together with the author: they often ask Araki for help to make sure his work is adapted properly, and since Koji Mori was a close friend of Miura, they could work with him too
- the openings would be downright perfect on every aspect, and we could even get alternate versions when there is a turning point in the story like Heaven's Falling Down or Great Days
and don't forget their CGI is really good like for example Donatello's stand and drake's dream and Jojo openings are perfect with CGI so if they put CGI on some of guts fights it wouldn't be bad as this eye cancer cgi from 2016
My thought process when watching this: "What's so wrong abou- Oh right. We're talkin bout the anime"

A thing i never understood is why the team that animated the opening didn't continue to animate the rest of berserk or at least giving more 2d moments than cgi 3d.
Because the team that animated the opening were from an outsourced studio instead of the one that actually made the show

All jokes aside, back in 2015-2016 I was on the fence about watching Berserk (1997) and what ultimately made me jump the fence was seeing how awesome that 2016 opening was. I did watch 1997 anime and I got really disappointed when I finally got to that 2016 one. But that opening was the reason why I ended up getting into Berserk and reading the manga
Currently I'm near the berserker Armor part in berserk and man, it's awesome, it's a shame that it's not getting animated.
For real, nothing else quite like it man
Not to mention the truly despicable sound they chose for when he uses his sword, sorry not "uses his sword", rather "when he slaps people with his trusty tin frying pan".

Honestly believe that for the movies by the 5th one they would have perfected it cause the 3rd was already an amazing improvement. Hope they announce a continuation after memorial 🙏

Yea I tried to watch the cgi movies, but I couldn’t find myself entertained, the manga is peak though
They're releasing a tv version with all the scenes that couldn't fit the runtime of the movies.
The Third movie (Advent) is pretty good. We get to see skull-bro man for one.

The movies are actually pretty watchable (compared to 1997 and 2016 tv shows) + it's getting a remaster as a tv show with deleted scenes and stuff

Thanks RUclips reccomendations- also I mean if there was a Beserk anime, it could clearly be done similar to the Anime called Uzumaki to where's it's black and white but it looks like the manga panels are being animated, but this is just my opinion on that concept.

I just recently watched the 2016/2017 animated series...I loved seeing more story and a continuation after the eclipse cliffhanger from 97...but I couldn't believe how horrible the animation and sound effects were. I was planning to make an AMV to it, but there is nothing to work with...Although, the last 2-3 episode finally showed some decent action, it was too little, too late.

I really wish to see fromsoftware make a game based on the story of guts just like sekiro but as big as elden ring and I also wish to see a full new berserk anime that actually looks good but with a summary to all the chapters in the manga.

Fromsoftware makes good games. But their problem is they have never ever bothered to create a world with actual inhabitants, only monsters/enemies. Everything is static or decaying. Berserk world is dark and can be hopeless but it is not dead nor dying

@@anusaukko6792 yes, and they are very few and far between, and the vast majority of them stands completely motionless. Every part of Fromsoftware's worlds is completely dead apart from the enemies. Fromsoftware has zero experience when it comes to creating cityscapes/societies.

2016 anime made guts look like anime fast with his swings, sword weight and size be damned, but the ps2 version I think looks and feels better. especially that fight with zodd

What makes me sad is that Studio 4'C (Golden age movie studio) wanted to adapt more of Berserk but Young Animal (Publishers of Berserk) didn't allow them to, instead hiring the 2016 studio. And from footage seen 4'C had something insanely promising, and I'm sad that we got whatever the fuck 2016 was.
to anyone that hasnt seen berserk i highly recommend that you read it rather than watch any of the anime. every adaptation so far has missed some major scenes and the 2016 anime is just an eyesore.
That happens when you try to focus on a single secuence instead of trying to aim for consistence...anime nowadays still is producced at 16 fps, is not that we want an amazing animation but a proper one...

the 3d animation was kinda lackluster visually but that was due to them being made in like 2012 if I remember correctly when CGI in anime was still relatively new thing and besides that the graphical design generally was extremely good, sometimes better than 97' adaptation at adapting the emotions of some scenes
It would be a lot better if it was 4 movies tho in order to make a more complete adaptation
