Omg ....please do NOT hike in isolated, remote areas such as this when you're alone! Also, if I might add, you should be wearing durable boots for stability to prevent a turned ankle on uneven trails, and provide additional protection against snake bite. Be safe out there 🙂

I do all things alone, but I am even hesitant to walk alone at a park with 1 car. I always wonder why they are just hanging 😂.
I have begun to carry more frequently 😢….things have changed so much.
I have carried 24/7 for the big majority of my life. I'm glad you carry. But to just be blunt, I advise everyone to carry 24/7, even when you are in your house and out in your yard. You just never know when something will happen. The only time we shouldn't be carrying is when we are in very restricted areas (Court houses, schools, post offices, etc). The key to always being able to carry I'd to have "tools" small enough to be comfortable when you are dressed down ( like sweat pants around your house, really hot days, etc). It's better to have a small "tool" on your person than a big "tool" at home or in your vehicle. Anyway, that's my rant on the subject.

Wow, Katie, I remember Harry, the blue sofa, and loved your videos in the apartment. The blue cobalt blue sofa was beautiful!!!! You made a lot of knitting/ crocheting during that time. I’m the same way try to move the little crawly creatures to their own spaces.

So glad you left that place - gives me the creeps. Like it's a place where there's a rapist or axe murderer hiding in the bushes. I wouldn't even have gone in as far as you did.

Pepper spray is good but it needs to be the high powered stuff, such as Freeze P. There’s a whole lot of so-called “pepper spray” on the market that won’t do anything but piss off an attacker.

Have you bee up to the SE-Port Deli in Setauket (near Port Jefferson)? That place is DEE BOMB. I was up there a couple of years back, read of it on Yelp, it was bloody expensive
but wow is it good! They give you a monster hero etc. and a gigantic iced tea in a real foam cup or paper. Not cheap, but it's fantastic.

I remember your fly pet. I had a fly in the house many years ago, but it stayed mostly in the front room so it didn't bother me. However, as I was waiting for my then roommate to get ready to go to church, Jellibaby, one of my cats was stalking this fly walking on the floor. Now, Jelli was really sweet but not very bright. She was stalking the fly and put her foot down on top of it. Then she kind of sniffed under her paw and the next thing I saw was her licking her lips and looking for the fly. Another time we had a giant fly invasion and we were catching them in plastic bowls. We'd then take them outside and let them go. We were tracking the flies by their 'bzzzz.' There were a bunch in our bedroom and they were landing all kinds of places. One fly bzzz behind the bed and the sound stopped. I went to catch it and, there was sweet Jelli licking her lips.
Then you talked about the episode where you went through a step. My sister wanted to see this waterfall. There was a slight drop-off between the parking and the path to the waterfall. She stepped off the drop-off and broke and dislocated her ankle. Her wife had stayed in the car and while there were a lot of cars there, they must have all been at the waterfall. She couldn't put any weight on the leg, she couldn't even stand up and she didn't have cell service - she was deep in the Appalachian mountains where the closest town was Cherokee. Finally some lady came along and she called to her to get help. She was taken to the Cherokee hospital originally, then she was transferred to a larger city and had to have her ankle operated on. That was years ago and she still has the plates and screws from it.

Definitely bullfrogs! I'm in PA and my ex used to go to the pond and try to catch them bc they were so cute making that noise and he wanted them in the backyard lol They sound like rubber bands.

I remember the fly story when you lived in your apartment in Charleston, lol you are cracking me up. You had the most beautiful blue sofa in that apartment. Do you still own it? You’re the sweetest young lady Katie, you even fed an ant. I certainly worry about you at these creepy parks by yourself. Will you please consider bringing some type of weapon with you? Maybe some bear spray, taser, knife, etc… you’re such a beautiful kind soul and want you to be safe. It seems like there’s always a creeper creeping around. Please be aware of your surroundings and be safe out there, we live in a shady corrupt evil world. I say a prayer for you everyday ❤

Yes I remember the fly and I had to wonder why would you befriend a nasty fly? And then I rembered befriending a spider I couldn't seem to kill, so I named him Peter Parker! He lived in our bathroom until he apparently died!!!
