How can you not love Castle...
Can i run those motors with hobbywing quicrun ?
@@idan678.. as long as they both use the same bullet connectors, you can run any motor with any esc.. up until you exceed limits or are building intended custom builds

It's mentioned that the new version should run cooler...that's, supposedly, one of the two biggest advantage of the new version. So, v why not do a comparison? For example, run the V1 full throttle for approx 5-7 minutes, then temp temp of the motor. Then, with exact same setup (same gearing, same battery, etc), run the exact same test (exact same length of time, exact same running area) using the V2, and take temp. Only this way can it been seen whether (or not) the new version is actually cooler. 🤙🏼

ive had the typhon for about a year and got use to the power and want more. and ive been researching like crazy what motor is good for more powee and first i was gonna go for thw 1717 kv castle motor but starting readings that its maninly for heavy vehicles that need torque and not so much speed but i want a combination of the both so aftee watching this video i might go for this motor instead
Castle needs to release v2's of the xlx2 so i don't have to clench my cheeks every time I turn it on 😥
For real, I'm on my 3rd one in the K8 Exb. Should be due for castle to get with it and go 12s capable. HW has the Max 5 V2 now and the Max 4 for 12s.
@@bhardison1869 wow that sucks man. I had one explode into flames in my k8s and the replacement for that one also died on the first pack. I also have one in an arrma felony that has lost sensor capability. Durability really blows!!! don't have many options though.
@BeautyBeastRC that's what happend to my first one about a year and a half ago got about 6 mins into a brand new otb set up and poof esc went in flames and shorted both brand new power hobbys packs, full on fire. Luckily, batts and xlx2 were replaced for free minus the castle shipping, 1100kv has been a beast though, no issues there.

Soo… it’s like a stronger magnet motor would perform better in the mid rpm vs this newer motor being able to reach higher rpm? Or just overall lower temps and efficiency?

Is this why there is a new parts code? I just ordered a 1515 and MMX today at hobbytown. I had noticed online the combo was backordered. But the guy at the store found it was listed under a different part number
They could be discontinuing the original motor so a new part number will be needed for any new combo it's included in

Good post. I just put together a arrma outcast exb 6s and have had a 1515 2200kv motor sitting around for years. It hot where I live as well. That motor is a beast but I haven't found good gearing for it yet seem to get hot pretty fast. Any thoughts on good gearing? It's 19t pinion and I think stock spur is 54t.
Pretty high kv for a 6s rig, stocks is 2050kv I think you should go lower kv motor, castle 1650kv/hobby wing is a popular go to for arrma 6s rigs (kraton outcast talion etc) my .2 good luck!
@rcstackz7333 yeah my kraton 6s has a 1717 in it and the the 2200kv I've had for about 3 years and haven't done anything with it. Don't get me wrong it's a absolute power house just haven't had time to play with the gearing yet.
@@joshherrman3201 yea I got the cc 2200kv with a mmx6s sensored in my infraction 3s it’s a great combo with the custom mod 1 Gearing, I just think it’s not up to a 6s rigs weight.
@rcstackz7333 what are you running for gearing? I hear ya. I think I just have mine way over geared but I could be wrong.

Shouldn’t it be a v3 since the first one wasn’t sensored? I did 84mph on 4s in my boat in oval trim with the first motor. I’ve got the sensored 2200 in my Typhon 6s.
After watching several more times I wonder how this motor does compared to the spektrum 2050 k v

I recently bought a Kraton 6s rolling chassis. This motor esc combo 2200kv 1515 w/ monster x esc. I ran 19 tooth pinion stock tires would only allow the car to hit hi 40 low 50 I think l hit 51 mph. I wasn't very impressed an it did not last long at all after the first thermal shut down kiss the motor good bye it'll never be the same. Better than a hobby wing way more torque but the way i bash none of these motors well last long at all # 8 is in the mail tp power 4070cm 2200kv making 9 hp with lots of mods to accommodate of course
