Great video and that’s a gorgeous build! I have a Kraton 6s EXB with the MAX6 1650 combo and that’s a large motor. Seems heavy for the mount but I don’t do huge jumps etc so it’s fine for me. First RUclipsr I’ve heard mention so clearly the “smaller motor and use gears” message. With big fans ha. These Aarma are already heavy enough without bigger motors and bigger batteries unless there just isn’t room to do any more with the gears that’s always the best route!

SRC (Sweeps Racing) Terrain Crushers. He put the red accent on them which makes them pop real nice. They're belted but they are kinda heavy. The heavy wheels can make the motor heat up a bit cause it takes more for the drive train to spin them. But they grip well on asphalt and street. I've got about 3 sets. I'm liking the new Jetko 1/8 SGT line for my Talion. There about 70 grams lighter each. Can't go wrong with them SRCs though...they almost perfect for a Talion based on the size but to re-emphasize they are HEAVY!!!

That is a sick Talion. Looks like a beast on 4s. Do you think that esc and motor combo would be good for a Fireteam? It's 6s but bigger and heavier so I didn't know if it would be sufficient.
Hey mark I know this is a year old video so you prolly won’t see this comment but I thought you said that a castle 1515 can be run on 8s? All the castle literature says 6s only but I have one marched to a mamba monster X 8s and was hoping to be able to run 8s.
You can run on 8s if you watch Temps. Way to test is run for 10 mins and then laser temp motor. Needs to be below 150 degrees F. Gear until you reach that.
do you have temperature issues with this motor? i literally always hit motor temp cutoff with the same motor about half way through my 6s 5200mah battery. even on a 13t pinion. im using the mamba monster x esc. guess i should mention tires too, i am using the dboots backflip lp tires.
I do have a traxxas e revo. I want to change the motor only. Do you recommend putting this motor in? And I want to run it with a traxxas esc(sensorless) can i run it with that? Will the sensored motor work properly with a sensorless esc?
When you use a bigger gearing like one thats wider with more teeth you get higher top speed right ? Do you get less low end power ? Like less acceleration ?
Yes. When you go too big you’ll notice the car “cogging” which is like a hesitation. That means the power system is struggling to find the torque to move the car initially. At that point it’s fine for high speed runs but not for off-roading

I put the 160amp esc and 1250 kv spectrum in mine. Then dialed it down to taste. It’s an animal.
