    Awesome upload Vas 😱. Great info and wicked clean wire management 👀. That Leo 1050 is a friggin Monster!!! Perfect for this huge Beast. Something tells me your friend will want those silicone ear plugs in the center once he starts getting into the power. 🍻😎💪👊👊

      Hi Rich, so nice to see you stop by my friend. 🤜🤛 Yeah, there's a chance he will want those silicone ear plugs, but he's only new to the hobby and I'm not sure if the plugs will make it easier or harder for him to handle. I can always let him drive mine and then we'll see what he wants to do. 😁
      I also have you to thank for this motor as you and, I think, Eric were the first I saw with this motor. 💪 I love the power of this motor, it has the torque of the 800kv Hobbywing with the speed of the 1100kv motor. It's a perfect fit for these trucks. 😎👍
      Thanks again for stopping by Rich, always a pleasure to see your comments. 🤜🤛

    let me say I got my EXB without ever seeing one in person it unbelievable really, better I think then the. Traxxas XTR by far. everything is so large turnbuckles are like the size of my fingers it’s very big and chassis looks cool, body looks mean love it. I’m still on basically a max 6 and stock motor but with25 tooth.

    • @Bro_wdf_you_doing
      @Bro_wdf_you_doing Год назад +3

      What makes it better than xrt? The bending chassis? The turnbuckles stripping out constantly or pillow balls constant tightening as they loosen? Or the 8lbs in m2c you gotta buy if you’re a big sender? Just curious how’s it better ?

    • @moereefer

      @@Bro_wdf_you_doing mine is stock i never ever use M2c !?! The thing is everybody in the RC business/ other RC companies have hobbywing ESC / motors and even connectors that are available on the market even the Spectrum Firma ESC’s are rebranding of Hobbywing and there, but accessibility to those are easy also they are easily adjustable ESC’s too. No other then Traxxas use special plugs and or wheel Hex’s for there Tires and wheels.. just to name a few.. it’s just my thought nobody else in the RC business does that!! I’ve got Traxxas’s first R/C car which was electric RC which came with a mechanical Speed controller sealed in a box it was made in conjunction with Tamiya and it got me into the hobby I had many traxxas still do I loved the Nitro 3.3Tmaxx, Emaxx, and Summit. my opinion. i can make a list. find someone who has a stock esc in there Xmaxx?? that like buying a new Truck Ford then immediately buying a different motor, or trans. not cheap and i’m not rich. the price is all to high now for Traxxas and some others. my opinion!

      @@moereefer Same exact thing applies to Arrma really.
      Kratons arms are of the same quality as traxxas stock pinions and spurs.
      Blatantly lying about having a 7075 chassis, it bends very easily.
      And thats just the stuff I broke on my EXB in the first 2 weeks.
      Im not saying Traxxas is perfect. I would much rather have a mainstream esc in my xmaxx than their own trash esc. But the base is solid.

The fact is money, and a lot of hobby shops don’t carry Traxxas no more there not selling people still get them over the web, and for example traxxas products are not very innovative like other companies also Arrma listens to there customers and that’s why they change, update, like motors new R/C’s for example improve RC vehicles make what the customers want with excellent results. right now you can get a Brand Arrma Fireteam RTR that just got released recently for 390$. let me see a 30 year old Traxxas stampede for a discount price but no they put lights on it. come on. plastic it’s Fantastic The Traxxas XRT says on Traxxas website design to be raced with racing DNA. !???? has anyone ever seen a racing RC car or truck that has not one adjustable, turnbuckle, camber, toe or even sway bars?!?

I actually switched it over to my DBXLE and it preforms so good in that truck too 😃 I had to use IC5 connectors because like you mentioned it was almost impossible to solder EC5’s. The power combo I am running in my K8S at the moment is a MMX8S with a Hobbywing 5687 (not sure if that’s right, the short fat 1/6 motor) 1100kv. Hey Vas, Merry Christmas!!
    Great video. Love your video's and tips. You aways help me out with your explanations.
    I run a castle xlx2 with 1100kv. I run qs8 and have had to change them out 4 times with all kind of problems. I was told you have to use a 200amp plug. Is the xt150 safe enough? Castle told me I should be using qs8 with the esc motor combo. I am so tired of all the problems with the connectors. A lot of room for operator error. Will the xt150 hinder the performance?
    Thanks

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  Год назад +1

      I've been using XT150 plugs for years now and I've not had any issues. Performance has not been a problem either as these connectors can handle a lot of amps. I use them in all my 1/8 scale cars or bigger and even some of my smaller ones where the XT60 plugs won't do. For me, they are all I need from small cars to big, from fast cars like my Limitless to heavy bashers like the K8S, these plugs haven't let me down ever since I've started using them.
      The downsides are that they are a bit hard to come by and not every site or shop will have them. Hobbyking carries them but stock is not always available, so now I get mine from AliExpress and they actually work out cheaper for me, so I buy in bulk and always have a couple dozen of each side (battery and ESC) on hand.
      You also need a good iron to solder them on, but if you've been using those QS8 plugs, then you probably already have one to suit.
      Hope that info helps and hope you have good luck with the XT150 plugs if you decide to give them a go.
      Merry Christmas. 🙂

    I want to go 1:1on my 8s EXB but I read in the comments on one of your old K8S RTR vids and someone said they went 1:1 and it caused their 8000mah packs to puff out!

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  Год назад +1

      A puffy battery may not be because of the power system alone, it may be because of an old or faulty battery. I used a 1:1 ratio in my 800kv system and I had no issues, and my batteries held up fine.
      You can definitely give it a go yourself and just keep an eye on the temps of your electrics and batteries, and if you have to, just gear down a bit.

      I ran mine on the Max5 combo as well (with the 800kv motor), but ran it 39/39. I will admit, it was nice, but this motor with 39/34 is even better.
      The Spektrum DX5C radio is also a good choice, but I wouldn't bother with the AVC receiver unless you're in it for the speed runs, and even then you'll have limited range. AVC seems better suited for 2WD cars when used off road, but using it in a 4WD hasn't really worked for me. I used my DX5C with my Limitless and had to swap it for the Futaba to get better range. Sacrificed AVC, but range is more important. 😁

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  Год назад

      Wow, that's pretty quick for a stock setup. This setup wouldn't go much faster, TBH, but yeah, the torque would be on another level and the electrics would run a lot cooler.
      I remember my stock RTR system only did about 40mph and even when I geared it up a bit, it couldn't even break 45mph. My understanding was the ESC had a different firmware in that first batch and it was holding back power. Hence why I swapped out the system in my truck (prior to a firmware update being available).

I personally wouldn't recommend it, but if you want to, go for it. Part of the fun in the hobby is to experiment with things like this. 😁

      The servo has a 40kg rating and is plenty powerful for this truck. I've driven the truck since this install and there's no issues with the power of the servo at all. It also fits perfectly without any mods by simply using the correct size servo mount provided with the truck. I fitted the servo myself and absolutely zero mods were needed - it's a straight bolt on.

      @Aussie RC Playground And I just been in the game along time so I know brushless motors and lithium batteries good I know how they work and some people watching have no clue so instead of them wasting money on low kv motors that does nothing except take 8s to barely move you can use 5 or 6s and double that power . And the amp hours combined with half the C rating is the amps your putting to the motor . So in other words 5000mah 50c is really about 115 Amos you can pull from it without destroying it quickly. So if u have a say 1150 kv motor geared 1 to one on a 40 78 can you'll probably pull about 170amps at bursts or on grass . So you asked me to explain so I did there's alot more but done typing on this .
