With the thermostat delete the N54 will take wayyyy too long to warm up. It already takes a long time to warm up properly, and they were made to run pretty warm. If your oil temps go over 250 degrees F in normal to spirited driving then you should either change oils, or there’s another problem. Upgrading the actual cooler itself is more useful if you get upgraded twins or a big single, but really only for track use for stock twins. Honestly an upgraded radiator is far more useful. I understand this vid is sponsored and helps you make more content but just putting that out there

Not trying to sound like a smart ass but ... how do those cooler caps... the hex blue ones help cooling lol. My understanding is.. it’s just cosmetic 🤷🏻♂️
Only thing that helps cooling in this is the oil cooler valve (the red thing) the blue stuff is 90% cosmetic 10% upgrading materials for peace of mind. If you just want cooling you’d be fine going with just the valve
Jay Herrmann yup. The valve and the cap with fins ... they suppose to dissipate heat 🤷🏻♂️... but the cover bolts and the cover for the valve is just looks... but obviously a bit more $$

@@rickpearce5553 many people carry them. Burger tuning is one of them. ECS tuning may carry them as well. But depending on your setup for car it may be better off running a bigger oil cooler etc. there’s many ways to make the oil run cooler… but also each way has its benefits and cons. Depending where you live it may not be smart to run a colder oil. All depends what your plans for car are.

Do not idle to warm up your car. BMW needs to be moving at a cold start to get the oil circulating. This is why BMW engineered the oil cooler the way they did. This mod is a great for a track day, not for everyday use. Be careful over long-term usage.

I’m a little late and I just bought a 4D 07 335i. I was looking up that oil cooler and some kits come with a new spring. Do some kits make you use the new spring or is it like yours where I wouldn’t need to use it??

Great mod. I’ve done the same except the thermostat cap. Blue cones will definitely be a perfect combo. I wish I could find them for my current CAI but the diameter of the attachments are smaller than what I have found out there.

Have exact same set up always thought it was cosmetic crap and after doing track day can confirm just cosmetic crap does not work.
Yes it opens thermo little earlier but in track thermo is always open.
Save your money and upgrade oil coolers.

Hey Nour ! I have a 2009 bmw 328xi, it has a N52 engine. For some reason it’s been hard for me to find some engine mods or like you just did in this video some cooling mods. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place but can you maybe drop a link to a site you’d recommend for N52’s ?
Im pretty sure that you can get n52 tuning on burgertuning too

So there’s not a lot of cooling mods. But you can actually install an N54 oil cooler on your N52. Might need some help mounting the cooler but I think it might bolt up

Shit my F30 335i runs at 1/4 oil temp normally… it’s got that aux radiator on the driver side and I also run the BMS oil filter thing but that’s it
