My man, I was installing the same kit, and thought I’d watch your video even though it’s straight forward. Well you saved me from a massive Exxon Valdez style mess with the heads-up about modifying the bracket.
Makes you wonder why the manufacturer didn’t catch that mistake

Oh yeah, the bracket holding the wires is such a royal pain in the back. I thought maybe the plastic box can be slid off the metal bracket, thus making things a whole lot easier (fasten metal bracket on manifold, move manifold to its final position and then slide the box back on). I'm pretty sure it was done like that in production.

That was my original plan, but I could not unclip the box from the bracket. It just felt like I was going to break something, so I decided to make a permanent solution, so I never had to worry about it again the next time I take off the manifold.

Are you eventually going to replace the fender liner to allow air to flow through the air cooler? Good job on this video explaining the work . 👍

I was able to buy the factory brackets to mount everything properly and cut the liner for more airflow, I will explain in a later video. I had no issues mounting the cooler this way though.

About the 3 screws on metal bracket problem, there's a easy solution. After taking off the throttle body, you will see the metal bracket.
You should see 2 metal tabs going thru the bracket slits left and right. It's connected to the bracket with 3 screw holes above it. I see it on your video. Use the big flat tip screwdriver and push the tab back left and right side of the housing. I'm not sure if i pulled on the housing while pushing the metal tab with screwdriver. Its so easy once you doi it. Yeah i hated it on my first time doing it that i replaced 3 of them with phillip screws. I almost broke a wire while getting at it. But now its piece of cake in less than 1 min. Putting it back is super easy. Just slide in the 2 flat tabs back in.
Funny thing is you tapped your finger pointing to the locking tab and complaining why BMW made it so difficult. Your finger was literally on the tab. That hump is what you have to press down to unlock.

I tried sliding it off, but it seemed like it needed a ton of force, and when I pried on the tabs, they just started bending as if they were going to break. I like my new solution a lot better. Now I dont have to worry about that mess of wiring and making sure everything is plugged in with the intake manifold on. Thanks for the tip, though, I'm sure some other people here could use it. Might be going to a different manifold here in the future.
