I love your bags thank you. I just learned something about the wonder clips I think the whole world will benefit from. The clear side is flat and the coloured side has a curve. If the clear side is down, it moves across the sewing machine and unclips from the fabric more easily. I wish I’d known that ages ago 😂. Hope you are helped by this info. 😊
I made the permismon bag using QAL & used decorative stitches to make the look like crazy match. They were given as gifts for Christmas in 2021 & loved by the recipients ❤🪡🧵🇦🇺
I love this technique, but I always start in the middle and work outward which I find results in less of a chance of warping or distortion (I'm not as experienced as you!)🥰.
While I know this is better than I could have done, I also know that less skilled quilters like me might make mistakes if we do it exactly like you do. By starting on one corner and having the pieces precut based on the angle we think we are doing we run the risk of starting the corner at a different angle and ending up with pieces that won't make the distance of the new diagonal. As a novice I'd either start in the middle where I know where the longest piece can go or I wouldn't cut my strips ahead of time. Secondly you can draw along a ruler on the backing to keep yourself square and parallel to previous courses. Before you start decide the diagonal, draw both sides of the ruler then make the next line the width of the ruler away. It won't be where you sew but you'll see if you're getting crooked. Thirdly if you start cutting the first half of the pattern and it's a little wonky you'll end up with the inability to fit the other side on. I'd either make the whole pattern piece on new paper or draw the center line and trace all around then flip and make sure the second piece fits before I start cutting. Regardless, you've done a beautiful job

This looks amazing! Great that you step outside your *normal* style.

Is the golden rod pattern available without the entire pack? I just need this one pattern
About 8 scissors
