Hi frenzzz! This video was edited by me, as the draft from the new team was not up to my standards. We're still working on establishing my style of editing, but I needed to upload something because the RUclips algorithm is ruthless 😅
Yes please give us an everyday wear/muted 5-7 looks of the DM palette… I really like how you compared the Byredo to ABH Nouveau because I See IT!! I have the ABH already so now I can buy the DM guilt free and not both 😅😅😅😅
My favorite is ByRedo. I dont have DM because I find those colors too in your face. ByRedo is more my vibe, but I would love to see your softer take on the DM. Great video, as all of them
DM’s Lightworks is just such a unique and well thought component system. I agree and hope she comes out with more 6 pan color stories that we could interchange in/out.
Alicia, I was just looking at the DM Freedom Palette a few days ago online and still wasn't convinced to purchase. I have so many multichromes, holographics, pure metals etc. that I would just be swimming in these shadows. Sure, it's a beautiful palette and I'm not denying that, but for myself, the Byredo Mineralscape Palette has stolen my heart above all else this year with Xenon coming in very close behind. If I didn't have all of the shades from DM already, I think that it's a good buy for all of those gorgeous shades in one palette - even though we get slugged a much higher price than you. There comes a point when we simply have to say that we own enough already and will only be repeating these shadows. I absolutely love muted shades, which is why Mineralscape was made for me. I started wearing grey tones when first using eye-shadow, so Xenon was a dream come true also. For those who don't already have endless shades that are represented in the DM Palette, I would definitely recommend it. I just feel that the options available for looks are better represented in Mineralscape. It's much more wearable, yet can be amped up as well. Anyway, that's where I stand personally. Good luck deciding.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
I'm kinda shocked I have both, and they are my only eyeshadow for the year. Every time I tune in to your channel and I think I must buy whichever palette you're wearing it seems to be Mineralscapes. I agree these are two standout palettes. I almost didn't buy the DM because it was £142.50 (UK through Beautylish) . I think it's value considering how many colours/textures/shades/tints are included. Slightly intimidating in the big pan so I keep stacked, therefore my one is now three. Not using the pinks and blues much, but I will. I've smallish, slanted eyes with not much lid-space, so prob 3 colours is max for me, 2 my daily preference. Drawback is I still have to grab a matte if not going full-on glam. Colour stays/non-fade (unlike many) all day which is great. I think many of the colours can be used blended out one-and-done too. I love the Byredo Mineralscapes, and have been regularly using since I got it, and it's the perfect palette as a companion to NDs Biba palette (mine's pretty new) which means I get more muted mattes and more muted shimmers. The wholistic colour-story is practical to blend, mix and match, wearable and beautiful. The only minus re content is lack of mattes (2) (and one of them is a muted coral) which is why I bring in the Biba palette. I would also minus a point for the artwork (I know others love it). I thought the other images on past Byredo palettes were much more sophisticated - you can really see the minerals are just stickers on this one. My vote goes to the Mineralscapes because of usage. I reach for it every other day and have used every colour without making myself. It may be a phase I'm going through but I'm favoring muted eyes and brighter cheeks or lips atm. I'm gonna have to woman-up and make myself use the livid blues and pink in Lightwork VI (even though they should in seasonal colour theory suit me).
Both palettes are beautiful, but my vote would be for Danessa’s palette. I’m loving the looks I’ve been able to create and the innovativeness of the packaging.. I took my palette as well as my Danessa blushes and light works 5 palette to my friend’s house and turned several other Black women on to the magic of Danessa. We played in the makeup and everyone looked beautiful, so yeah, the Freedom palette for the win. 🙌🏾😊👸🏾
I only have the DM palette so can't make the comparison to the Byredo one... but OMG I do love the DM one and kind of have used it non stop since receiving it a few weeks ago. We had to wait for it to be released in Australia and boy it was worth the wait, I too hope that she continues with this type of format I the it is the best idea ever IMHO.
wow amazing review i completely know what you see about Byredo its so spectacular im so obsessed with it that I actually forgotten my other GREAT palettes, u did justice to both palettes though they are fantastic
It’s Danessa’s best Lightwork palette. But I don’t need it. The Byredo is the only palette I’ve purchased this year. Your eye look is 😍. Please do a Byredo video!
Oh, yes waiting for Isamaya 😅 but byredo and DM were the most interesting palettes in 2024. Even if I own neither (byredo not my colourstory, and owning way to many multichromes). Love these type of videos, nerdy, excited and relaxed at the same time.
Thank you for this lovely comparison. I have been using DM’s palette as a one and done - it is so amazing! The design of this palette alone should get an award.
i only own two palettes: INAN & Mineralscapes. i was so disappointed by Natasha’s! it was much too sparkley for me. the Byredo is just so refined in terms of sparkle. she’s my fave’
I love the byredo for its colour subtlety and nuance. It actually has a ‘story’. I think it’s better than the DM for mature lids too. The DM is just too saturated and lacking cohesion for me. It’s just a lot of distinct brights and it doesn’t interest me at all. I don’t care for the byredo packaging - it’s ridiculous and cheap but I don’t care - I care only for the contents!
I have the Lightwork VI and yes, softer every day looks would be nice. I usually use it for big nights out so far, but I’m trying to get my money’s worth.
Beautiful makeup Alicia 😍 I don’t have Lightworks palette but Mineralscapes is definitely one of my favorites in my collection 🤩 As a „soft summer” girl I love this desaturated colorstory in a mix of cooler and neutral tones with just pop of teal and deep navy. I even love the purples, even though it's my least favorite color - it suits green eyes, but often doesn't look good on my skintone, but THESE… these muted shades are perfect! Other than that I simply love the formulas of all the shadows. I just wish this palette was permanent 🥲
OMG please do a business appropriate vid for LVI!!!!!! I am dying to order it for Halloween and Holiday but can justify the spend if I can also use for work. As a reference, I do very simple work makeup & I like mac naked lunch as a one off work eyeshadow or RMS living luminizer, or Benefit cookie or GXVE platinum cowgirl or Westman Atelier nectar. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi dear Alicia, i think both palettes are beautiful!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩From Byredo still Kalahari is my favorite, the colours suit me more. Danessa's palette, maybe. Thanks for the beautiful video, wishing you a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
For me the best palette I actually bought this year was the I need a warm palette, the best palette that released this year was hands down either of the two you’ve discussed here the one I would choose for myself personally if I could would be the Byredo minerals scapes
Having now tested both palettes, I 1000% vote for Danessa Myricks. The packaging innovation, formula, versatility and because the tones are more flattering on warmer complexions like mine. I also think it’s her best formula. The Byredo one lacks some of the variation in formula compared to previous palettes. If they had included some extra sparkly toppers/metallics it would have been a stronger contender to me. But for those who can wear these colors well, it’s still stunning. 😊
I probably shouldn´t comment because I don´t own any of these palettes. But for me the winner would be Danessa Myricks´ palette. I love muted tones of the Byredo palette, but I think we can find them here and there scattered in existing palettes. The novelty of the Byredo palette, according to me, is that they put them all in one beautiful palette. Novelty of the Lightworks VI goes much further. Packaging itself is a piece of art and - as I´ve seen in the reviews - the formula of the eyeshadows is spectacular. In summer I bought 13 mono eyeshadows from Oden´s Eye for 150 euro and now I regret it. They are nice, but quite chunky and I could save my money for Lightworks VI, which is very compact and in smoother formula. My only critisism against this palette is that I rather do not wear blue. But they are combined with green, which I love, so I could make it work for me. I don´t miss Byredo in my collection, although those colours are my favourite. On the other side, I only wait when DM´s palette comes somewhere nearer to buy it. Thanks for nice video!
Hey Maria! Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. I agree with your points, and hopefully Danessa will continue making these magnetic pans in more shades.
@@nancylapeach I get it 😩 And I understand why one would be hesitant initially because it’s expensive, but when Byredo says limited, they’re not kidding 🙈🤣
I was a bit disappointed by the Danessa palette. If the outer container were magnetic it'd be a perfect palette. But you can't mix and match shades with other palettes due to size. So if the whole thing were magnetic or would be a dream, but there's just one little magnet per 6-pan. So you have to be very careful if you use it since it only holds it magnetically on one size. I hope she does more like this so we can mix and match more shades than what's already in the palette. I think I've been spoiled by indie brands. 😂
Why would we have to pick our favourite child? Both palettes are exceptional. It was harder to get my Mineralscapes than Lightworks 6 so Danessa gets my vote 😂
I would vote for the DM palette which I can appreciate the beauty but the colour story isn't for me. I have way too many eyeshadow palettes and singles but the newish Glaminatrix Barely Basic is calling my name because it's colour story is very me.
Sorry! I can't answer that queston. I don't own those two palettes....I'm in a low buy stage... The only one I'm interested is Pat's big palette bc of its formula (I believe it's made in Italy...).... I was waiting for your review but now I know you haven't bought it... Anyway, if I buy it would be on sales😅😅😅. Love from Spain ❤
TBH… I’m shocked! NO PMG CONSIDERATION is 🍌 🍌 🍌 yo! After everything you mentioned about performance, utilization, formula updates etc…. The Luminous Legends Range must get a chance… IJS I really think if you tried it in this space , you’d changed your mind even if there is no special shade… While the formula has already had its debut years prior, Luminous Legends is BEYYYOONNDDD!! PML has peaked. It’s good if people are starting their PML collection but if, like me, you have been a collector and have previously bought everything I think it’s all already housed within what we already have. I’m over the repetition and the cardboard.
@@kr8882 I think everyone is just catching up! It’s great everyone is doing these different colors, finishes, and formulations but PMG LABS is the moment and does QUALITY the BEST! I’ve collected her products and her products she designed for others for over a decade and she’s been that girl forever and WILL CONTINUE TO FOREVER BE THAT GIRL! It’s LUXURY!!
