I love the way you narrates your products. The details are awesome. You look absolutely stunning and thank you so much for sharing what you picked up. ❤❤
Wooo, the sight of the Byredo fragrance trio in your thumbnail had me clicking so fast on this vid, knowing you typically stay away from fragrances....so happy you found a few and from a house that may be a pleasant and satisfying journey for you! Can't wait to hear updates.....! Loving the LUX oh Lordy...i knowwwww
Ah I love Byredo Biblioteque! It’s supposed to be like a library / book scent, which to me it’s like a new book, like clean paper. It’s fresh, sophisticated, modern, and alluring without being cloying or too heavy. If you like scents like Le Labo Another 13 or even Diptyque Papier, you’d like this I think. It’s not sweet or powdery, but it’s also not as musky or masculine as like, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather for example, which I also enjoy, but Biblioteque is not a heavy smokey library scent like one may think.
Also love Bibliotheque. I have the candle and full 50 ml bottle. It’s leathery and there’s a bit of a plum note. It’s got great sillage and longevity. Highly recommend!
That lip color is so good! I rarely wear fragrance because I’m too sensitive to it and can never find one I like. I do like Bal D’Afrique though. I should go smell the others.
I loooove Byredo fragrances! They’re so soft and nuanced. My favorite lipstick of all time is Amber in Furs. It’s so beautiful and it has a slight scent (but what luxury brand doesn’t add scent to their makeup?). Transported is a close second. I have my eye on one called 9am atm. I love this luxury haul! Truly some of the best of the best!
Ooooh!!! I love the Byredo store in Williamsburg! Picked up my Mineralscapes palette at that location. Got a free trio of trial sized perfumes with my purchase. And oh no, bad idea! A week later, I purchased Mojave Ghost which is my favorite perfume right now. I wore it today and the nurse at my doctor’s office asked me what I was wearing because I smelled so good! Rose of No Man’s Land is pretty, but I have Bal D’Afrique sitting in my online Byredo cart as my next perfume purchase from them. I need to go in store to see if I can get a sample of Gypsy Water before I pull the trigger on my next Byredo perfume. They certainly aren’t cheap!! I might pick three in the Selection instead to try out those two and De Los Santos. Ugh! I’ve spent way too much on makeup this year!! And Sonia G’s restock is coming soon too! I guess it’s ramen noodles and veggies for the next couple of months!😂😂😂
@@aliciaarcher I just got the Sireneuse, but now I am also tempted by the quads Nuit and Gingembre. I am happy I am not into brows, but also - gotta stop looking at the website before I find more I want... 😅
I have had items from YsL in my cart for days now, and one of the eyeliner shades just sold out. Maybe I should hurry up and snag the Stora Dolls in my cart before it's also gone. You look lovely. Byredo lipsticks are pure luxury, and I'm not just talking about that solid magnetic, two-toned delivery mechanism: they have lovely shades and performance. I haven't tried the liquid lips, but now I'm thinking I should. Thanks for sharing.
I purchased Over Orange, Gueliz Dream, and Palmaraie Skies. Over Brun sold out, and I’m not surprised. It might have to be my favorite as well because the curation is perfect 😭
FYI - the YSL pallets are 30% off on their site right now. This came out at the right time for me. 😂 My other favorite Byredo scents: Mixed Emotions, Mojave Ghost, Desert Dawn, Rouge Chaotic. They are so good!
I have all the ysl quads in the colorways I wear. The formula is so buttery. They have a warm all matte one, it’s a fave. I feel so lucky that I get the benefit of reviews, like yours. I’d rather just save and splurge on Prada, YSL, ND, and not futz about trying everything. Especially with forecasted price increases. I wonder how that’ll play out with fude, especially, and I spent more on brushes than makeup recently, in case it’s even less attractive in duties and shipping to do so in the future.
I bought the Boisee Trio set--Black Saffron, Mojave Ghost, Super Cedar. OMG. I am in heaven. I am spying the Twisted Lily site for their Black Friday sale--I will buy the larger size of Mojave Ghost and Super Cedar. Heavenly.
Loooooooooove GYPSY WATER!!!!!🌊🌊🌊🌊 and you absolutely Slayyyyyyed your makeup 💄 look!!!! You DEFINITELY should have taken down your twists and showed out with the FULL HEAD OF HAIR!!!! LUV IT!!!!!!!💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💥😘
I was a enthousiast Byredo fragrance lover. It has a Byredo DNA you must like a lot. I had 5 different fragrances. But what I notice, when you buy different sample from different houses, you are going on a voyage ,you experience what you like more and what you dislike,Cor must get used to and will grow into. But in that voyage you change a lot in what you like. For instance you like rose and some time later you change to woody fragrances, Or whatever. But that means that the fragrance you started with, is not your favorite anymore or even you give it away because you are not wearing it anymore. It is not doing anything anymore for you So don’t buy to big a bottle, because the journey takes you probably in another direction You change but it brings a lot of joy and happiness Bye Mirjam
Yes and why I’m happy that the more expensive perfume houses sell the sampler sets. You are correct in that assessment, especially with the changing seasons.
"Gypsy" is a slur. It is awkward when it is a title or label, so some people say "g water". I learned about the slur a couple years ago, I am personally trying not to say that word in everyday life.
I’ve watched videos on the history, and people use the word Gypsy, as well as describe their heritage as such. They’ll say “I’m Gypsy” or “Half-Gypsy. And others say Romani. On the Byredo website, it says that the fragrance is an homage to Romani culture. For those who still use the word to describe their background, are they self-derogatory? It seems that depending on who’s saying it, determines whether the word is understood as a slur or as a description of one’s ethnic background. Thoughts?
@@bestagentofdarknessso am I, and I enjoy these conversations. I’ve been watching videos about the topic, and it appears to be more complex than I originally understood. Another element that’s interesting, is that people will use the word to not only describe their heritage, but the nomadic way of life that was unique to Gypsy culture. And feel strongly about referring to that part of their ancestry as Gypsy-despite the degrading origins of the word.
That lipstick looks amazing on you, and I'm feeling influenced to get it...! I've just been so confused that in the year 2024 Byredo would have such a popular perfume with a slur in it, which "gypsy" is in most contexts (I guess from the European continental racism context, it's comparable to naming a perfume "R*dskin vibes")... I tried reading up on it and never found much about why it has to be named that, or if it's actually the ethnic background of the founder, which is usually the only context of self-reference it's valid in? If this comment saves anyone the luxury temptation spending, you're welcome, but I'm sorry, cause it does sound intriguing scent-wise. 😔
My question is, if it’s such a slur, then why do people still use it to describe their background. And in regard to the Redskin comment, Native Americans here came out saying that the word represents their culture, and they embrace it. They felt their heritage was being erased because of the virtue signaling.
@aliciaarcher I can't agree with that since I know the people campaigning against it, do academic research on the topics, and know no one who considers it virtue signalling. Both the Washington and Cleveland sports teams renamed their teams. And all terms, even if self-referential, are on par with the *self-referential use* of the n-word in rap or literature... This one Byredo fragrance name is based on a slur for one of the most marginalized and longest persecuted ethnic minorities there is in Europe, over centuries, and during the Holocaust. I don't think this is virtue signalling to raise awareness about the plight of a minority many aren't even aware of, but they may be interested in learning more about this or why it's a romanticized term. I'm not campaigning for the brand to rethink the name or to boycott anything, but maybe some consumers want to be conscious of it before their pricey purchase of a specific item. I won't comment on this further, but I would appreciate it if the comment stays up for the informational aspect. Thanks, Alicia.
@@KarinIsSharingand there are people, actual Native Americans, who have no problem with the logo and feel strongly about their heritage being erased because of woke culture. I understand Gypsy has derogatory origins, but there people who are of Romani descent, who still use the word to describe their heritage. Are they wrong? Raising awareness is not necessarily virtue signaling, and I agree that discussing history is important. I do think that sensitivity and fear of offending people has escalated over the years, and there needs to be a shift. I would read “The Coddling of the American Mind” to get a better idea of my point. If you like! And you’re more than welcomed to respond, and I have no problem leaving this thread up.
Take it from me, don’t start loving niche perfumes. You will not be able to save any money after that😂 however do try and get your hands on samples and decants to understand what fragrance you like without breaking bank
The term "Gypsy" shouldn't be used anymore, it's a slur word that encompasses the racism against Roma and Sinti. I really hope that we'll see it vanish from casual usage like "Ni**er". I won't buy anything from companies using racist words to sell their products. I know that you're usually take care and understand that it slipped your awareness, so I hope my comment is helpful. ♥️
