What's great John, in my opinion, is that, Ireland still have a lot to tidy up which means they have room to improve which will make them an even bigger threat
I agree 100%…. rugby gains for all us Northern Hemisphere nations when we stick to the All Blacks….great display, from a Rugby fan who happens to be, by right of birth, known as an Englishman!!👏👏👏👏👏

I don't know any other 10 that orchestrates the players around him like Sexton. He really is a sort of player/coach/tactician all in one. What the hell are we going to do without him 😭
0:54 Interesting. I think this is a variation on a tactic we see a lot of in the game now and which, to my mind, is close to blocking with the use of potential receivers (almost American football style). I just wonder whether the officiators will be taking a closer look in the same way that they did a few years ago with the 'Truck and Trailer' technique in mauls.
@@eamonlyons8318 Fair enough. I can see that in presenting an option, they held their line up to the point when the pass was made. That said, I still think some players are straying very close to that borderline with a technique that is being used increasingly. Who would be a ref :).
All credit to a really top shelf Ireland side. Whatever is said about the state of the ABs right now the brutal truth is probably that the ABs even under the last years of Hansen would not have won this series
Definitely as an Irish fan at the time! Reckon they'll be better for this experience though. Think a lot of their errors were uncharacteristic and Scott McLeod is still a very good defence coach.
@@ekrugbyanalysis6880 this coaching team is useless, and Robertson should be coaching. And if we lose 2 from 2 in South Africa, which we should do. .razor will be coaching this month
@@joedennehy386 seriously sick of hearing and reading this. This is the problem with NZ rugby: always expecting instant success! Happy when they win, suddenly no faith or loyalty when they lose, wanting immediate changes. Whay happened to sticking by your team win lose or draw? Oh wait, nope, they lost. Better not back them against SA. Zero faith! What, are the All Blacks not allowed to lose multiple matches? Just cop the losses, and accept that the ABs are allowed to lose like EVERY other team in rugby! A kiwi loss is a win for World Rugby. And what is Robinson doesn't magically start winning games? Sure, he gets a bit of breathing room, but what if it isn't mass success? Do fans like yourself keep whinging, complaining and demand another coach? Cop the losses, keep faith and move on without the excuses
Thank you ... Sexton was a real time choreographer! ... will he be able to do the same at age 38 in the RWC? Can Carbery fill that role? JGB's decision making kept the Irish attack at full speed and the AB's defense off balance and out of position ...
Think he'll definitely be able to do the choreography - his brain seems sharper than ever. Do worry about his body though! Carbery probably the most convincing replacement so far with his performance vs. France in the 6 nations, but Sexton's a once-in-a-generation player who's very hard to replace.
We were number 1 in 2019 and fireing on all cylinders and look what happened, I've a horrible sinking feeling it's going to happen again, peaking too early.
Ireland peaked in 2018 with the 6 nations grand slam, 2019 Ireland got to world number 1 due largely to other countries dropping world ranking points, Ireland did not evolve their game in 2019 & were figured out, they also suffered from a lack of form.
I’d argue the peaking too early thing is a bit of a red herring. IMO in 2019 we didn’t get “figured out”. We lost focus. Look at the England game in the 6Ns that year. Henshaw at FB wasn’t a selection for winning that game. It was a selection with the RWC in mind. And when performances dipped a collective panic set in. We peaked at the right time in 2015, just got unlucky with injuries. We didn’t peak in 2010. In 2007 we peaked in that years 6Ns and messed up our prep for the RWC. So I’m not too worried about peaking. I am worried that we have a stupidly tough route to a potential final. England have to play Argentina and one of Wales or Australia to make a SF. We have to play South Africa and one of France or New Zealand. Those are 2 very different routes.
Nice analysis of one try. Ireland were superb, nz were not, I've never seen a worse half of rugby than on the first 40 of the 3rd test. We were outclassed and out coached. We didn't win the collisions, it's frightening to think that if both head clashes had have been refereed the same nz would probably have won, they scored 2 tries in that ten minutes, even though we wouldn't have deserved it.
Ya the video referee is cutting out alot of the shit the A Bs were getting away with till the second test when they should have been down to 12 men if porter was.as tall as his retallick you might have a case in what you thinking. But not saying
I think that there is plenty to work on, though. Last 6 nations was only OK, should have closed out that 1st test, and players need to up their club form.
@@Norrie_Rugger yes buddy I do agree but just have that niggling feeling. You know the one where Scotland or Argentina pull it outta the bag. Fingers crossed anyway, best Irish team I’ve ever seen.
@@Norrie_Rugger only ok? We scored more tries and points and let in the least amount of tries and points. Only for giving away so many silly 3 pointers vs France we would have had the grand slam. It was a good 6N for us.
Im a fan of well constructed moves that opens up space to run the ball, but not when fowards run infront defenders to upset or blind defenders and shield the ball carrier. This must be banned. It should not be legal.
This is just what a normal international Tier1 country looks like with proper attack coach. Ireland didn't do anythung crazy either than execute and ask questions under Big Game pressure. I think Mike Catt is their attack coach, you see it with France with Tabit. As a Springbok fan it's very frustrating watching an Ireland team with far less talent in their backline achieve what we don't even attempt to do, and we got world class players everywhere (except 10). Also Sexton last few years under Schmidt (who I think is a very overrated one dimensional coach) was looking old, under Farrell he looks like the compete 10, irreplaceable. Ireland hold on to those English coaches (Lancaster, Catt, Farrell etc) in your systems
Jeez Blaque, you are not behind the door about praising yourselves. "we got world class players everywhere", even Barcelona would not have gall to say that!!! Nonsense!!
Meanwhile the All Blacks are waiting for a poor kicking game to counter broken play and rely on individual brilliance. Which doesn't happen haha. Oh, and Bower: he's a Crusader so instant starter. Player poorly
Best Irish side we've ever produced and it loos like they're firing on all cylanders now. It's a joy to watch them play atm!

There is no block. Both runners are viable options and as long as they keep a straight running line they dont actively impede the defence
