already making a "things you missed" video hours after the trailer came out? you seriously need a life
Joker 2019 tricks everyone into thinking he's delusional but they're only proof is him day dreaming about being on the Murray show in the beginning and day dreaming about his neighbor being his girlfriend, might I add it's during stressful situations ie his stand up set, after he killed those 3 guys and when his mom is in the hospital. Joker is aware these are day dreams. He literally suffers from hypersanity
not gonna watch it since this will be a musical. huge pass for me.
@@ChewyRocksandiscute your loss
I'm surprised you didn't mention the musical episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds "Subspace Rhapsody." Like you said at 9:57 songs are how you express what you can't simply say with words. This is literally what happened in Rhapsody, sometimes in ways the Enterprise crew really wish they hadn't after the fact.
"My life used to be a tragedy. Now, it's a sequel." *- Joker*
"[...] Now, it's a romance."
First as tragedy, then as farce.
@@Gwilherm .......a bad romance, Ra Ra ah ah
@@Gwilherm Now, it's a musical.
My theory is that no other psychiatrist was able to get to Arthur or figure him out. Harley is a new psychiatrist that started working at Arkham and the doctors all agreed to make her go undercover as a patient to get close to Arthur and understand him. But instead she fells in love with him, that's my theory.
Not bad. Sounds way better then her being an inmate..
Or he’s hallucinating her as a patient while she’s really his Dr.
I mean...i doubt it...BUT, it is a super cool plot idea!!! I seriously mean that buddy
Wow, you might be delusional.
I literally think that can be a possibility as well
That actually be a kool as story tho
Joker thinks he's in love? Wait until he meets Batman.
His real lover
You're gonna love me
@@GOODTARGETBARTZ ayo what
@@GOODTARGETBARTZ nobody loves you bro nobody 🙏
Batman doesn’t do ‘ Ships’
The dancing on the rooftop in the moonlight made me think of Nicholson's joker : "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
Interesting. Especially since I think this Harley isn't really a person and more his dark side. Or his Anima.
I think it would be cool if at some point, a Joker movie features Batman as the antagonist, because this is all from Joker's prospective.
But Bruce in the first movie is like 10 years old
Yeah, I think Joker vs Batman would be a perfect final chapter in the Joker trilogy.
Time skip
We are not allowed to sympathise with Joker and route against Batman, that's like routing against Spiderman...😅
Imagine a bat person flying around beating people up not killing them and he’s after you, I’d see him as an antagonist as well. Dope idea love to see it.
While Joker is making a sequel... Bruce is training to become Batman.
Yeah, and he's like 10 in this universe
@@Thompson51probably 15 now, going to start his training soon.
@Thompson51 eh he could be 18 by the time joker is 40 as Arthur fleck is most likely 33 in the first film despite Joaquin being 40 in 2019
Batman and Superheroes don't exist in this universe. It's not that kind of movie.
Love this idea. And if this film is successful, which I don't know it will be but Batman in the 3rd and make it a horror
“My life used to be a tragedy. Now it’s a romance, a Bad Romance” -Joker
If you notice the umbrellas colors it’s a rainbow. the only colors missing is purple & green . and that’s Arthur 👌🏾🔥
👌🏾👌🏾
Good fckn eye!
One problem with that theory, there's 7 colours in a rainbow ( red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), the four umbrellas with Arthur's violet (or indigo, whichever you deem closer to purple) and green only make six!
@@richietwinz6824 the color indigo is not real
@@bradbradthebrad Indigo is a hue and falls between blue and violet and I'm pretty sure there's over a Million artists, designers and fabric manufacturers who would argue otherwise but please feel free to look it up before dismissing someone's opinion because you have no prior knowledge about something!
“And then we see Arthur beating someone with a bar stool” I died 😂
Just casual activities…🥱😂
but in reality dude who got beat with the bar stool’s the one who REALLY died😅 or maybe that’s just in “his world”… we may never know👀 (until Oct 4th anyways)
The colorful umbrellas and the music cue at the time also appears to be a reference to "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever", a Barbara Streisand musical from the 1970s about a woman who goes to a psychiatrist to get hypnotized to stop smoking. The psychiatrist ends up regressing her to her past lives and they get involved, but then she realizes that he was only in love with her projected past self and who he wanted her to be, not who she was.
It's a visual reference to "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" as well, which was a big inspo for La La Land. Kinda smart meta imagery on the movie's part
With the way Todd Phillips likes to emulate (steal) stories from films of the 70’s, I bet that’s exactly it!
@@k2sworld Yeah, I was generally familiar with the song and style and that there WAS a musical, but yesterday was the first time I looked into the actual plot and it was like, "OOOOOOHHH...okay."
That shot of him with the lipstick on the glass is brilliant. It's so simple and yet there's SO much symbolism behind it.
What’s some of the symbolism?
@@Chrondon She said I want to see the real you, then literally gave him a smile. Implying she knows the real Joker. He then realizes what she is saying and lines his face up for us (and her) to see she was right bc the smile she drew with lipstick (lipstick symbolizes kissing) fits his face perfectly when he smiles. The whole thing symbolizes her understanding who Arthur is, and him acknowledging it.
@@EobardFergusonthat ain't much that's the scene everyone's talking about cuz it ain't much of a trailer
When it first started and I heard Gaga I was like “meh okay. A little too on the nose” (almost thought it was cheesy)
Then the focus changed…
And as Phoenix gradually embraced the lipstick… surveying her, even though she’s outta frame… chills. he absolutely sells it. Phoenix’s acting cements (and reminds us) that it’s *his movie
Yeah, I liked it better when Heath Ledger did it.
That smile shot
absolutely insane
It was straight crazy
pure genius
Absolutely incredible
Probably one of the greatest shots in the history of superhero film
This looks like a literal continuation from the first film, so impressed with the cinematography. Great shots here, can't wait for this film
The song plays a double role. The first three piano notes also match Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka.
Nice catch I'm convinced that most of this movie will be in his head.
I thought they were going to start playing that haha. But I think it serves as symbolism as this will all be a “world of pure imagination.”
Literally what i was thinking when the notes played. But it was actually is.
Musically, that song is also very similar to Close To You by The Carpenters. I wonder if they will use both songs, or do a mashup, as they are similar musically and thematically.
@@aliwantizuCould definitely see a musical piece 3 quarters into the film with close to you, have harley singing it after the court scene from the trailer
We are really getting Ha Ha Land and I'm here for it
This comment is everything 😭I literally thought of la la land when they were dancing at the hotel
If she isn’t a figment and is real then maybe she isn’t a doc nor an inmate but a fan similar how some serial killers had groupies in real life
That opening shot of joker sitting in the spotlight was perfect. .
16:00 Maybe Harley has a shorter sentence and is released early but constantly goes back to visit that’s why she can attend his trial and is talking to him through the glass which could also explain the shots of him miserable without her
I’m gonna assume Arthur is hallucinating Harley as a patient, while she’s actually his DR, picking his brain.
I think you’re onto something…it would be wild if the entire movie is from the perspective of Harley Quinn as his therapist descending into madness from Jokers manipulation and when she says “let’s get out of here” she’s really the one who breaks him out at the very end of the movie…
Whoa that gave me chills 😮
That was actually the origin in Batman the Animated Series . Good catch 👍
I think the movie will be like Shutter Island. Harley will be a doctor studying the Joker and he is hallucinating that they are together.
This might be a crazy ass theory but what if the movie is a reverse on Joker and Harley’s relationship by making Harley the controlling one in the relationship and she’s manipulating Arthur to remain as Joker. Once Arthur realizes he doesn’t want to be Joker anymore and just wants to be free, Harley betrays him for not living up to her expectations and sells him out to the cops. What if next the ending of the trailer with the lipstick smile is actually the end of the movie because Harley would still have a soft spot for seeing Arthur in Arkham Asylum but then afterwards Arthur murders her only for him to be killed himself by execution. Arthur ends up smiling menacingly because he’s happy he no longer has to live and continue his miserable life.
Definitely this!! Throughout the trailer, it seems like she always follows and keeps eyes on him. Also the shot of Harley pointing a gun at him and painting his face makes me think she is in control throughout the whole film.
@@disstilly Agreed. It's all to continue making us sympathize with Arthur again.
Lmao, I just saw this comment that said "Here is Everything you Missed in the Joker Trailer - 1 Hourr after Joker 2 release" and I laughed a lot, then I just got this recommendation to me and I laughed again! Dude was so on point. 🤣🤣
I saw the same comment and thought of Screen Crush right away
Calling it now!
Joker - Folie à Deux will be a musical and all musical scenes will be in Harleen's head, dreaming of a perfect life with Joker!
Folie à Deux will not be about Harleen getting dragged into Arthur's psychosis, but rather Arthur being dragged into Harley's!
His wedding suit looks like the suit he had in the TDKR. He’s wearing a purple shirt
Lady Gaga showing her 🎶 J-j-j-joker face,
J-j-j-joker face 🎶
Digital footprint is crazyy....
Oh wow. Lady Gaga should pen a song entitled Joker Face!!!!
😂😂
Thank u for the pun, and thank u for allowing me to be the 69th like 😉
The above shot of the umbrella is an obvios reference to the title screen of the musical "Les parapluies de Cherbourg"
What makes more sense than a hymn is music therapy. Maybe it's a group therapy session using music for the purpose that's explained in the trailer.
You broke this down so good… I loved this first movie and whilst I was bummed it was a musical, nothing better presents the madness of both characters than this .
The musical bit gave me literal chills, I cannot wait for Joker 2 and just from the trailer Lady Gaga is amazing as Harley
The colored umbrellas in the rain is also an homage to The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
Ryan how did you miss this 2 or 3 shots if you look closely Harley is pregnant. When they are dancing down the steps, when she is wearing the wedding dress, and when they are on the roof. She absolutely has a baby bump
I checked and I can't find a reference to Lady Gaga being pregnant while filming. So this probably isn't a badly hidden real pregnancy or one that had to be written in because Gaga was with child. This would have to be an actually pregnant Harley and the only question then would be is she only pregnant in their shared fantasy sequences?
Now that you said that I do kinda see it… it’d be very interesting if you’re right. If you are I’ll remember “ that one random person on yt noticed it first “ 😂
@@starryyynightzzz4691 that is all I ever wanted in life lol to be recognized as a random on YT
I noticed that too! I’m glad I’m not the only one!
I noticed too. Including 15:47 she looks like she has a bit of a baby bump
clayface "its Lady Ga-GAH"
I think that in the end part by Harley saying “I wanna see the real you” with her off screen gives me a feeling that she is dead and that is Joker’s self conscious saying that to him. Then his self conscious Harley draws a smile gives him an opportunity and he takes it. He looks at his self conscious Harley and smiles this is why I think Harley is dead. With Joker’s monstrous smile to someone off screen.
It's cool that brought Gary back for a min or so. The teaser we saw first of Arthur in the rain, laughing/crying, I bet that's the ending. I bet he's crying/laughing because he's all alone again, because Harley dies and he's back at arkham. It's the first thing I said to me self. This trailer gave me the chills😅 I can't wait to see this. Another masterpiece right here 👍🏻
Maxxxine and Joker Folie a deux made my day
This is the exact vibe i was expecting the delulu is real 😂.
That sounds like some doing a Tom Jones impersonation singing!
because it is tom jones. and sammy davis jr.
Le Miserable + Fight Club = Joker 2 … 👍 For those that don’t know, the director Todd Phillips is the brains behind the Hangover movies
It will work, with edibles.
@@zzygyy he was day dreaming he literally suffers from hypersanity
You broke the first rule😂
this is NOT fight club
3 of the worst movies ever.
Damn that was fast!
They get videos early
@@ashevillevideoproduction True, but I didn't think they get trailers early. Feel like that's a new thing if so.
So crazy how quick you make these videos. Good job lol
They get videos early
So much detail in so little time!!!!! THANKS for this, Doug and Ryan!!!!
The umbrella's shot is probably a reference to the great musical Les parapluies de Cherbourg, from Jacques Demy
Indeed!
In the shot of joker and Harley dancing down the court house steps, Harley has a baby bump and is wearing a different outfit than when she went up them by herself
The negative silhouette of Arthur looks like Batman’s cowl 7:21
😂
i do kinda see it yeah
I absolutely love how they did the transition where they are "dancing" essentially in their own unified heads in a beautiful setting but in reality, all of Gotham is burning an exploding As they are dancing in the middle JUST POWERFUL. At first I was apprehensive about the whole musical idea but now I'm full on excited for this movie, definitely going to be reserving me a few tickets!
So.... Todd Phillips is riffing on Snyder's SUCKER PUNCH. It's like Incel Spinal Tap going to 11, lol.
Joker isn't an incel anymore now that he has Harley, right?
Shocked by the Tara Strong erasure!
4:24 when even the dog seems to be pissed off at the ad lol
6:07 I absolutely luv how he talked about the Harley Quinn series,I luv it so much its awesome 😎,hilarious 😂,and so chaotic 🔥
The song is performed by Sammy Davis Jr. and Tom Jones. I need the world to know this truth.
I hope this turns into a trilogy
Hey Ryan just a heads up because of the color blind issue... that wasn't actually a Jamaican flag. Same exact structure as one, but the colors are not the same from the actual flag of Jamaica. Know you can't tell the difference, don't feel bad about it. Black, green, and yellow on their flag, with the flag in the trailer being a more muted yellow and brown, lacking the black triangles.
I can't believe yall played that gun scene.
I don’t think Harley is real in this movie , just a hallucination
no she is real
Now that would actually be interesting
If that's true then the movie title makes no sense. The delusion is supposed to be shared.
@@caolanmcflynn2412 nah mate! She is for real... Harley can't be Joker's imagination. In this movie at first she will grab Joker's attention and convince him to do things. At the end she will fall in love with him... then joker will ignore her and she'll be darker.
Excellent summation! Thank you
This trailer has me a lot more excited about this movie the musical aspect had me worried but deep down I was hoping I’d be as excited as the trailer made me
was waiting for this :)
10:47 "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
That Batman animated show was a bop. besides just being a great show, it did so much to rejuvenate so many characters beyond simply introducing Harley
💚 Finally a great breakdown. Thanks for the insight!
“Walked the line” haha well played Screencrush
Great work with the detailed breakdown!
The umbrellas maybe a homage to the french musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
I'll give this a shot because I loved the first Joker, but I have yet to watch a movie that made me say "Well I'm glad they sang that instead of just acting it out"...just not my genre, I guess.
Same here, I feel like I'm the only guy who thought La la land was just decent.
@@theketaminekid1241 what is la la land?
the dancing sequence also is very similar to the come what may musical number in moulin rouge. another great musical
Im so excited for joker 2 ! The trailer was beautiful!
Lady gaga pulls off a better crow than the new crow.
I feel like there was a missed opportunity to release this on Valentine's Day
That was an incredible analysis. Thank you! Can’t wait for this movie!
Gaga is a great casting choice for Harley Quinn!
@15:48 The two guys behind Lady Gaga in the court room scene. One of them is possibly Harvey Dent?
Todd Phillips was quoted saying that One From the Heart was a big influence on this, and you can see it in the (perceived) fantasy scenes!
can't wait to watch it to have all these questions answered
I was spectacle with a musical movie but then again i am a fan of musicals and so far i'm a fan of the trailer song.
In the MGM musical clip (at the 9:58 mark), that woman's dress looks like the inspiration for Quicksilver's costume. LOL!
Awesome stuff!
SC Joke 2 breakdown! The prefect reason to go to bed late
When they are running from a fire I agree, it is in the theater, it's the shouting fire in a theater gag...
I think in that cut from the rooftop dance to the street dance, looks like the building is on fire, lots of ambulances going by. I would guess this is the same fire they're running from later on, the fire they probably set to get out after the cinema scene.
I took the "Knock Knock sign" as a play on his joke at the end of the first movie when he freed himself with one shot
Bro! The trailer was just realised a few hours ago! How did you edit so quickly??! 😂
Thanks!
You're welcome. Thanks for the support!
I feel like were gonna see a lot of Sid and Nancy in this.
Gunna wait for reviews not sure about this one
Someone said in the joker trailer that "100 things you missed in the joker trailer" videos were coming 😂 i refreshed the page and boom here you are lmao
This looks pretty cool
the umbrella scene i know i saw it somewhere, aaah "her"
I'm wondering if they will do something similar to Sucker Punch...? But with Harley being the psychiatrist in the end.
2:57 Birds of Prey had musical sequences, Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend musical sequence. SO wouldn't that have been the first to bring it in?
13:48 The only way I could see him freed is maybe if the Waynes step in. Like, 14 year old Bruce forgives him and accepts him as a brother. That sways the jury etc.
as a kid i really dug the miller white suit joker, think he also had that yakuza looking tatt in that version.
If Batman gets to be in this reality, they should make him the antagonist. Make Batman some self-righteous, overbearing renegade. He all about “Law & Order” and treats everyone like a nail because he’s the hammer. After he sees the other side of why people become what they become, he changes his attitude. He still throws down hell on the over-the-top crazies but he’s more forgiving and takes them to jail. Just like how Christian Bale in The Dark Knight when he pulls back Harvey Dent on not overdoing it with the henchman who is mentally challenged. He’s just a low-level guy. It would be a great arc for Batman.
Nailed it..
My reading of the trailer/theory: Harley is an inmate, but she's a low risk one, hell, maybe she was there in Arkham before Arthur got sent there, and thus would be released much earlier then him, but before that they end up developing a relationship, and the scenes of Arthur screaming in the rain or Harley smashing a store front window is the two of them trying to cope with being separated.
I'm still wondering who Steve Coogan is playing, maybe the films version of Bartholomew Wolper or maybe a reporter like RDJ in Natural Born Killers.
Ok, here are my two bits ...
One ( and this could be actually a clever idea ) Harley is not real, instead, is just a figure of his mind to achieve human connection that he craves, based on the doctor that follows him.
Again, Harley is fascinated by this man and the more they talk, the more she is feeding his imagination. But, also, she can be very analytical. And that is the Harley from the real world. A doctor with a fascination for her patient that she wants to discover who he really is.
And in Arthur's mind, they share their insanity.
Also, i could see this as a mix between a Willy Wonka-esque musical and very noiresque old thriller.
Black Panther AND Logan reminded us of many of those things 1 and 2 years before with 3 Oscar wins, including Best Score for Black Panther and a screenplay nom for Logan (should have had more including acting for Jackman & Stewart)... No slight on Joker, just feels like you're ignoring that Logan and Black Panther also changed the idea on social commentary and Awards worthy material. etc.
I guess technically it's the 1st "Conicbook" musical, as "The Return of Captain Invincible " is a superhero musical but NOT based on a comicbook.
That said, yeah, Joker was a big deal and high hopes for this sequel.
Tip of the day!!!. If you want to try Fum yet save a shit ton of money, just get a plastic straw and dip the end of it in some mint leaves or extract then suck on it. Done! I tried Fum and spent over $100 only to realize that I just bought a fancy straw with some very mild, almost tasteless, flavor inserts. Don’t waste your money!
i really didn’t realize the constant contrast in scenes
