The upgrade is only able to be done on PS5. Just try to play this game in 4K on a PS4, watch your console die. The Yuffie episode is paid AND is PS5 exclusive, which is admittedly a bit shitty.

From what I've read and understood. If you have a PS5 and a purchased copy of the game you will get the PS5 upgrade for free..however the additional DLC will still need to be purchased on top of that.
Finally got a chance to play intermission, Yuffie's combat is absolutely stellar only Tifa comes close from the pt 1 crew. I was going to use Yuffie as much as possible through the remake anyway as she's so funny and charismatic but this is the cherry on top.
It’s kind of silly that they are making Yuffie exclusive to the PS5, since it’s near impossible to get that console anywhere right now. With how few they made and how high in demand it is, as well as the bots the scalpers use buying them all, it will take a long while before enough people really can get the console before it being an exclusive is justifiable. But I will say it’s nice that the people who bought the game can get the free upgrade, even though it’s kinda odd to me that people who get it free from PSN won’t be able to do that. I would say Microsoft hasn’t done that with any of their free games, but I can’t think of an example, if they have any at all.

Also I just learned that Sony is sticking to their idea of charging a full $70 for a new game, while Microsoft has confirmed they are sticking to $60. That’s going to make people want to get that console even less now, or get the new Xbox instead since they have backwards for all previous gens, pc support, sticking to $60 for a new game, strong rewards programs, and, of course, Game Pass. So sales for the Ps5 will be even less because of that. Thus one more reason the Yuffie dlc should be on PS4 as well. It makes sense profit-wise!

What I typically see people think a "remake" is, is basically devs just remastering a game to be like modern games, they never take a step back to realize that, it is called a remake, because it's in a way a new game, the devs can alter events and things in the game if they want to and how they want to. Another great example is the Resident Evil 2 remake, that also had huge changes like the tyrant chasing the player around Nemesis style. It really is so odd that there still is people out there that mistakes a remake for a remaster and then getting mad because a remake isn't a direct one to one carbon copy of its source material made to just look better.
Remake - means it's the same game, with slight differences.. I don't want to spoil so I won't say who.. 2 ppl who die in the original are now alive in the remake - in my opinion due to popular demand by fans 😂 Plus, Vincent doesn't join your party in the remake but he joined ur party in the original.. theres a few other examples, like I said.. same game with key differences 😅😂 I still own my playstation and sometimes play the original FFVII mainly so I have Vincent in my party 😅😂

I think that's for digital ps5 owners only that didn't buy the game before. The game is usually like 50 on PS4 but guessing cause the dlc isn't free that's why it's 70. So if you have a disk ps5 with a cheap copy of the game you cheat the system😂

It is a complete game. This is like saying Xenosaga isn't a complete game because the full story is released in parts. Yet each one is over 60 hours, the first can take over 80, the third, over 120 easily. Or Ys isn't a complete game because each subplot of Adol is a separate game. Just because this is taking an original storyline, and splitting it into larger individual titles, does not make for a good argument this is an incomplete game, when it very well fills the gaps with enough story and things to do, to make for a full game. Funny story, the original idea for the game was Midgard alone, with detective Cloud helping out Tifa find a murderer. That became Midgard alone, with Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris, then Barret was added, then Sephiroth became the main villain (was initially meant to be a mentor). Then mid-way in production, they expanded it outward. Why Disc 1 was about 70% gameplay Midgard, but about 80% story. It's an episodic game. Hardly the only one. Now if they didn't have adequate content, or adequate story, or adequate numbers of things to do, that was worth my time, then sure, you'd have a point. Since they do, you sound like a petulant child, whining over having to pay more for extra stuff. You want HD FF7, that already exists. FF7 was the phenom that put SE on the map world wide, and made RPG's a standard bear in gaming, and even Western gaming studios give it credence for building a larger general audience, just as much as Diablo 2 did. At least in the US. Europe was always a haven for Western RPG's. I used to think like you did, but only until I played. I don't like much of the new content, though most of it is the way that content was altered from the original context of the storyline, which IS a valid complaint. So if you don't like HOW they implemented the new material, and the remake part 1, beyond "game is incomplete as it's not the full FF7 experience," then sure, that's valid and comes off as sophisticated. Thinking that FF7R2 is coming out next year is overly optimistic. Also, what are you talking about? You can definitely upgrade for free if you have the digital copy. The only version you cannot upgrade is the PS Plus version. But if you actually BOUGHT the game digitally, you can upgrade for free.

Correct me if im wrong, (and a spoiler to anyone if they haven't played the remake). Isn't it the Wutai armies are the one who helped Cloud, Biggs and Wedge in Shinra Factory? Maybe Yuffie or the other guy are one of them. Maybe there's a mission about that in yuffie dlc.

FF7R and FF7R Intergrade are the same game. If you owned FF7R previously, it's updated to Intergrade. Also you should just buy InterMission and play the Yuffie DLC for $20, worth it. Better than just watching gameplay.

I hope part 2 has ray tracing at 60fps. I feel like it’s possible in this kind of game bc it’s mostly closed environments. Also higher fidelity textures.

People really need to stop saying, Purchasing a PS5 doesn’t make the dlc free. The PS5 isn’t just for this upgrade. There are many games to come for the system. Buy said console is future investment, Eventually people are going to have Next Gen and make the PS4 obsolete. Sony is just moving along without having the PS4 holding them back. Also this DLC is a test for the née mechanics without limiting next installment.

I’m in the same boat. But according to the video and articles I’ve read, we would need to buy the new PS5 version at $70 or buy the PS4 disk version for sale to then get the free upgrade in June. Walmart has it on sale right now for $30. But idk if it’s worth paying the $30 to play it in 3 months when I could just play it now for free. Hopefully this helped.

Please help me figure this out guys. I just got a ps5 23 JULY. On my ps4 I did buy the digital download version of ffvii remake. However, I also bought a physical copy of the deluxe edition, and the first class edition. 1st class edition is staying in the box. If I open the physical deluxe edition and use the disc, will I get the new stuff? I even did the butterfinger thing and got the special bangles etc.

It does actually did you see the trailer upgraded everything n a new chapter I'm a ff7 fan have been since it came out an to see the story's there showing gah its great also anyone catch the name "intergrade" I see that as them showing the side story's of characters we know about but didnt know were there take the remale base game when the plates fall you see cait sith (cat that walks on 2 legs with a crown) now in the original he wasnt there in cutelscenes but later in the story he tells you yeah he watched sector 7 plate fall n it horrified him love they showed him there lol so yuffi was in midgar but didnt reveal herself to the team just working in the shadows that's awesome (in the original you find yuffie after she steals your stuff n that's like disk 3) so this intergrade will prob show is more side story's cant wait

I was more hyped when I saw the original Final Fantasy VII for sale on the psn store. I was already on the fence about remake being done over multiple games and having to wait years and years to get more of the story. But doing character episode dlc is just annoying. I wasn’t a fan of it when they did it with FFXV and even though it’s FFVII, I’m still not a fan
The thing that puts me off playing this is knowing its not even the full game. I'm hesitant to spend so much time just for it to end without conclusion. I've completed it before and that's how I felt with it. Maybe with rebirth around the corner I'll run through it again.

The PS4 can’t handle the graphical prowess, load times and possibly the mechanics in 60 FPS . The DLC is more than just added content .

You don't need to get a physical verison of the game. I got digital verison of it last year day one and i was able to get the upgrade for free.

What I typically see people think a "remake" is, is basically devs just remastering a game to be like modern games, they never take a step back to realize that, it is called a remake, because it's in a way a new game, the devs can alter events and things in the game if they want to and how they want to.
Another great example is the Resident Evil 2 remake, that also had huge changes like the tyrant chasing the player around Nemesis style.
It really is so odd that there still is people out there that mistakes a remake for a remaster and then getting mad because a remake isn't a direct one to one carbon copy of its source material made to just look better.

The only big difference is that intergrade is only for ps5 and is not ps4, who gives a damn about the difference when you cant play it on the ps4.

I think that's for digital ps5 owners only that didn't buy the game before. The game is usually like 50 on PS4 but guessing cause the dlc isn't free that's why it's 70. So if you have a disk ps5 with a cheap copy of the game you cheat the system😂

Loaded all the roms for my Gba already and will buy the other ps4 parts because they are all on discount right now. It is a complete game. This is like saying Xenosaga isn't a complete game because the full story is released in parts. Yet each one is over 60 hours, the first can take over 80, the third, over 120 easily. Or Ys isn't a complete game because each subplot of Adol is a separate game.
Just because this is taking an original storyline, and splitting it into larger individual titles, does not make for a good argument this is an incomplete game, when it very well fills the gaps with enough story and things to do, to make for a full game.
Funny story, the original idea for the game was Midgard alone, with detective Cloud helping out Tifa find a murderer. That became Midgard alone, with Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris, then Barret was added, then Sephiroth became the main villain (was initially meant to be a mentor). Then mid-way in production, they expanded it outward. Why Disc 1 was about 70% gameplay Midgard, but about 80% story.
It's an episodic game. Hardly the only one.
Now if they didn't have adequate content, or adequate story, or adequate numbers of things to do, that was worth my time, then sure, you'd have a point. Since they do, you sound like a petulant child, whining over having to pay more for extra stuff. You want HD FF7, that already exists. FF7 was the phenom that put SE on the map world wide, and made RPG's a standard bear in gaming, and even Western gaming studios give it credence for building a larger general audience, just as much as Diablo 2 did. At least in the US. Europe was always a haven for Western RPG's.
I used to think like you did, but only until I played. I don't like much of the new content, though most of it is the way that content was altered from the original context of the storyline, which IS a valid complaint. So if you don't like HOW they implemented the new material, and the remake part 1, beyond "game is incomplete as it's not the full FF7 experience," then sure, that's valid and comes off as sophisticated.

Thinking that FF7R2 is coming out next year is overly optimistic. Also, what are you talking about? You can definitely upgrade for free if you have the digital copy. The only version you cannot upgrade is the PS Plus version. But if you actually BOUGHT the game digitally, you can upgrade for free.

Isn't it the Wutai armies are the one who helped Cloud, Biggs and Wedge in Shinra Factory? Maybe Yuffie or the other guy are one of them. Maybe there's a mission about that in yuffie dlc.

FF7R and FF7R Intergrade are the same game. If you owned FF7R previously, it's updated to Intergrade. Also you should just buy InterMission and play the Yuffie DLC for $20, worth it. Better than just watching gameplay.

You also didn't mention that the Yuffie episode is available with the Intergrade bundle while previous owners have to buy it separately (not included with the free upgrade)

People really need to stop saying, Purchasing a PS5 doesn’t make the dlc free. The PS5 isn’t just for this upgrade. There are many games to come for the system. Buy said console is future investment, Eventually people are going to have Next Gen and make the PS4 obsolete. Sony is just moving along without having the PS4 holding them back. Also this DLC is a test for the née mechanics without limiting next installment.
So the game's Intergrade DLC & even photo mode are BOTH PS5-EXCLUSIVE FEATURES? THAT'S SENSELESS! The developers might as well have just made the ENTIRE FF7R project one of PS5-EXCLUSIVE games, in that case. I’m in the same boat. But according to the video and articles I’ve read, we would need to buy the new PS5 version at $70 or buy the PS4 disk version for sale to then get the free upgrade in June. Walmart has it on sale right now for $30. But idk if it’s worth paying the $30 to play it in 3 months when I could just play it now for free. Hopefully this helped.
if your intention was to buy a PS5 anyways, and you already owned FF7 remake, then you can get FF7 Remake Intergrade for free there is nothing subjective about that.

Please help me figure this out guys. I just got a ps5 23 JULY. On my ps4 I did buy the digital download version of ffvii remake. However, I also bought a physical copy of the deluxe edition, and the first class edition. 1st class edition is staying in the box. If I open the physical deluxe edition and use the disc, will I get the new stuff? I even did the butterfinger thing and got the special bangles etc.
So if I get intergrade on steam for PC that is all of what they have for remake so far for VII? It sounds like this is a pre FFVII story or something? the reviews are confusing.

It does actually did you see the trailer upgraded everything n a new chapter I'm a ff7 fan have been since it came out an to see the story's there showing gah its great also anyone catch the name "intergrade" I see that as them showing the side story's of characters we know about but didnt know were there take the remale base game when the plates fall you see cait sith (cat that walks on 2 legs with a crown) now in the original he wasnt there in cutelscenes but later in the story he tells you yeah he watched sector 7 plate fall n it horrified him love they showed him there lol so yuffi was in midgar but didnt reveal herself to the team just working in the shadows that's awesome (in the original you find yuffie after she steals your stuff n that's like disk 3) so this intergrade will prob show is more side story's cant wait

The thing that puts me off playing this is knowing its not even the full game. I'm hesitant to spend so much time just for it to end without conclusion. I've completed it before and that's how I felt with it. Maybe with rebirth around the corner I'll run through it again.
Its 90% filler. Things that take 20 minutes in the original ps1 game, takes like 6 hours in this. Its mostly fluff

Ff7 remake is the game, intermission is the dlc, ff7 remake intergrade is the version of the game that includes the dlc. Ff7 rebirth is the sequel
