  • Guide on how to install vinyl tiles with grout on a cement floor. I installed vinyl tiles in my basement laundry room to give it a cleaner look. The great thing about vinyl tiles, is that their easy to install and water resistant.

I need this for my kitchen. After all three years I still haven't put anything on the ground, it's crazy. Just need to find out where I can get these tiles in my country. The Netherlands.

Hello, are the tiles that you are using waterproof? And, can they be installed in the kitchen?

These tiles are "water resistant". Many people install these in kitchens so you should not have a problem. Good luck!

Won't the flexibility of the vinyl tiles Crack the grout? This floor will not last long.

Why would it crack the grout?

If it's installed properly with LVT meant for grout, it will be fine.
I do 1000s of square feet of LVT a year and haven't ran into this issue.
Just this week I went to a house that has grout cracks that needed repair. The original install was 2008, and the area effected was small (2-3 lines)
If you do get cracks or holes developing you can go right over top most of the time with the same premixed grout and clean up the line.

The tiles are stuck on to the ground so they aren't "flexible" and the manufacturer instructions indicate that they can be used in this way

@@renoforless this is a laundry room yes? So heat and moisture comes and goes a lot in there right? I don't think it's a good idea even if the manufacturer says it's ok bit I don't work with them alot so maybe I'm just not in the know.

Thanks for reaching out. It's called a tile spacer. It's used to space out the tiles evenly

    Please use glue.
    Future you will thank you.
I recommend getting a glue that is pressure sensitive, ECO 373 by MAPEI would be best if near a flooring store.

Hi, I sued a pre-mixed grout from Home Depot. I can't remember the exact brand but I believe it was Simple Grout.

I thought some kind of glue or adhesive should be done. Tile will start lifting and shrinking in certain ways, where grout will start cracking as well.

    • @renoforless
      @renoforless  2 года назад

Manufacturer's instructions don't require glue so I'm too worried.

      The tiles themselves were self-adhesive.

I'd install my tiles on some subfloor. Can't trust raw concrete nowadays
