Sorry for the late reply…. Yes you can do a outdoor streaming…but you will need a strong Internet connection…the handycam costed 70k plus the mini recorder costed 14k. Yes nowadays USB to thunderbolt adapters are available.

Yes, there are two solutions. 1st - buy a USB to thunderbolt adapters and use it with the Blackmagic mini recorder or 2nd - Buy an Elgato Camlink instead. It uses a USB interface. The HDMI port in your laptop is an output port and not an input port. You need to connect your camera with Ultra Studio Mini and then connect the Ultra studio mini to the thunderbolt port of your laptop.

You cannot get 4k output via HDMI from AX33 and AX53. It took me a while to figure this out. You can only get 1080p-60 max from the HDMI output. I know.... it's sad. Panasonic HC-X1500 looks like a better solution for me.

Upon viewing the video files that I recorded, the video is clear when watching in real time, but if I pause it to look at - say a race number on the chest, it is extremely blurry and I can not read the number. Is this to do with the media player I am playing the video file on - or is it not able to be slowed down to see intricate detail on moving objects? I recorded in AVCHD format at 60fps. Most probably it is because of the way the video was recorded. Usually a high shutter speed in a good lighting conditions is required to get a very crisp picture with lot of clarity. These cameras are good for normal recording and not for such high precision. But still I can only comment on your video after watching it. If possible please share it with me through a private link. 🙂
No, since the HDMI port in your laptop is only for output. That means the laptop can only be connected to an external screen. But to connect a camera to your laptop you need an HDMI input port. Unfortunately no laptop has an HDMI input port.
I use sony ax43 camera and connec to OBS in standby mode. But every 4 minutes the camera automatically shift to demo mode (playing demo video). I think it because the camera stay in standby mode and can not change camera setting from standby mode. Can you help to solve this problem ?
not sure what you're asking, but you can buy a DC power adapter for most cameras. This gives you the option of just plugging it into the wall. often, you can remove the battery entirely and just run on a DC line in. (it's generally better to remove the battery if you can so that it's not constantly charging)
Thanks for the tutorial! I tried this today and the camera switches to demo mode after 5 minutes. Then I have to disconnect the HDMI cable, and turn the camera off and on again. And again after 5 minutes it goes to demo mode. Is there any way to stop this?

I have sony HDR-CX220 and when I use it for streaming (handycam on standby mode), it will auto off after about 10 minutes and I cannot find a way to disable this. So, i have to press the screen before 10 minutes. Is there a way to disable this? Thanks
For anyone who is running into the issue of the ax33 randomly shutting off or going into a "screensaver" type thing. Go into the setup menu, navigate to "general settings" and look for two options called "Power Save" and "Demo Mode". Turn off both of these settings and you should have smooth and uninterrupted cam footage for whatever stream you are doing. I tested this by leaving the camera alone and plugged into power for 20 minutes and came back to the exact same screen I left it on.
As old as this is, it makes sense and explains more than most I have been watching to help the beginner.

Kemikeren no you can’t. The HDMI socket on your laptop and your camera are HDMI output sockets. They can only send signals but not receive them.

Rohan Tankaraj 720p will use less bandwidth and would be easier to upload. 1080i would need a higher bandwidth and may cause latency.

I have sony HDR-CX220 and when I use it for streaming (handycam on standby mode), it will auto off after about 10 minutes and I cannot find a way to disable this. So, i have to press the screen before 10 minutes. Is there a way to disable this? Thanks
Generally if you press the record button then the camera won’t go to standby mode.
For anyone who is running into the issue of the ax33 randomly shutting off or going into a "screensaver" type thing. Go into the setup menu, navigate to "general settings" and look for two options called "Power Save" and "Demo Mode". Turn off both of these settings and you should have smooth and uninterrupted cam footage for whatever stream you are doing.
I tested this by leaving the camera alone and plugged into power for 20 minutes and came back to the exact same screen I left it on.
You just saved my month after searching for this for about half a year now! Kept reverting to the damn Sony logo !!!
