If you do design and make your own patches, please share them with me! Any viewer submitted pics of their patches will be featured in an upcoming video. 😄
I love how you teach, I watch your videos more then any others when I need help. Thank you for taking your time teaching and being spot on with every detail…
Thank you so much. I cannot tell you how helpful your video is. I have SWP and love it. I appreciate the info on removing a stitch in SWP. I have had the program for over a year and didn't know how to do that.
I've been a subscriber for quite awhile but finally doing the SWP demo so I'm watching all those videos. I just have to tell you that you are the best teacher. You cover all my questions as you go through the tutorial. And the number of tips you drop in your videos (like all the materials to attach the patch) are gold. I always need a notebook when I watch your videos for all the great information. I've watched patch tutorials before and this is the first time I've ever heard of tackle twill! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge here.
You have to trim your patch after all the stitching is completed? I use Floriani Total Control which has an appliqué feature that allows trimming along a perimeter running stitch before the actual patch is stitched. If you trim well, you can have the backing material's edge completely hidden under the border stitching. Trimming after a patch is stitched seems unnecessarily fussy. (And it's not the size of the patch that matters, it's how you use it. haha)
Just jumping in again as I go thru all your wonderful videos, must comment” you have the most beautiful eyes my frd. That’s all enjoying your tutorials Thks again Norma
I try to watch all your video , I love how you teach! I just got a Janome mc 400E and trying to learn how to design my own patches and I will keep watching you, do you suggest watching any certain video and I do have Sew What Pro?
I love your tutorials and would love to learn how to design my own patch blank. I am making one for a friend who survived a post massive stroke surgery where she was only given 1% chance to live. My design will be square. I will gladly purchase it the blank from you, but, I would like to learn how to make the blanks for myself. I've been trying different programs and keep coming back to sew what pro, but only because you give such awecome tutorials. Thank you so much.
Hope all is well with you . I actually got into vinyl and sublimation T shirts and I'm still doing embroidery but at the moment dealing with a back issue ... I still love watching your videos tho thank you for keeping them on here
Thank you so much for your video! I am so new to machine embroidery, hubby got me a machine , SWP and sewart for christmas. you video's are so helpful for a newbie like me...
There is a border feature on SWP that allows you to make patches with satin stitch!!!!! I use it to make borders around my designs for patches. Great video!
What is the iron on stabilizing material for? I would have thought it was for sewing a patch directly to it and then the customer could iron on the patch.
Miss Eve you make my day every time you upload a video! I think you read my mind, I was just talking about wanting to try making some patches for my daughter's jacket. I have a question for you though, when you say that you "rest" the patch fabric on top of the hooped stabilizer do you use any adhesive on it or just lay it on top?
Cathey Kaiser I just lay it on top. I cut it to 5in by 5in. so that it fits just inside the hoop. It doesn't shift around on me. My machines don't play nice with spray adhesive. if I were to use something it would be a glue stick. 😉 Great question! Thanks!
I love your channel! Making patches is a great idea. What is the name (again) of the material you use to make the patches. I am glad you got some time off!
+Ellen Roddy Hi! 😊 Thank you for joining our channel. The name of the patch fabric is tackle twill. I purchase it from texmac. I have a direct link in the description for the video. 👍🏽
I LIKE YOUR SITE. DO YOU HAVE ANY NEW THINGS FOR THIS YEAR 4-25-2019 I JUST FOUND YOUR SITE AND IM MISSING ALOT OF YOUR CONTESTS AND OTHER.. YOUR DOING A GREAT THINGS FOR NEW SEWERS AND YOUR FUNNY AND YOU SHOW YOUR MISTAKES, JUST LIKE US. GREAT JOB
Hi Eve, I don't have SPW, so how do I Embroider the patch with a background with the thread look, how would I get my machine to Embroider in the box? Can making your patch be done without the SWP, I do plan on getting the program. Love the videos
+Lorraine Cotton The patch is digitized with the filled in background, so you don't have to do that yourself. However, without an embroidery design editor, you will have a bit of a time making your own patch. The blank patch is centered in the hoop, so you could select the basic letters inside the machine, (I would suggest the small letters to start) make sure the name or wording is centered on the machine's layout guide, and give it a shot AFTER the blank patch stitches out and it's still hooped on the machine. 👍🏽 I may shoot a quick video on that. Thanks for the question! 😊
solo Brown it's on my website. Thebabysbooty . Com. I have a link in the description under the video. YT doesn't want us putting links in the comments.
How do I create a patch using Hatch and the digitized applique. Do you have a video on this. I don't know how to create a patch and then use my LB7000 to do the style, tackdown and cover to get it started.
Hello, I was on your live a few days ago. But anyway, I have a question for you. In this video you said that you can use silhouette pro to make your patches so I wouldn't have to buy brother pe 10 software to make my patches? If I get silhouette pro I'll be able to make patches?
Hi Eve. I don't have a Embroidery Design program. Do you feel they are necessary for the average embroiderer? Do you have a video showing the basic use one of these programs. I know you recommend SWP. They seem confusing to me. Love your videos!
Ethel Warren Hi! I only feel they are necessary for those who want to do more than just purchase what others have made. A good friend said, "I saw the patches online and none if them was what I wanted". THAT is what an editing program is for! The patch I made available is fully customizable with SWP. Otherwise, you're kinda stuck with the one I've made. 👌🏽 I do have many videos on how to use SEP from the basic settings to merging two different designs into one! 😉 Check out my playlist for SWP. ruclips.net/p/PLSnk1uCnt1QC5b_pFu5xMoNDnhVZ4fV0Z
I have SWP but I also have Embrilliance Essentials. Just learning to use Embrilliance and haven't tried SWP. I wanted to learn how to make patches and when I ran across this video I knew it was just what I needed. Thank you Eve!!! I HAVE SUBSCRIBED !!!
Hello, I am writing from Turkey. We do not have an embroidery pattern drawing video here as clearly and clearly as you. Could you please help me with this embroidery drawing or send me the link of this embroidery drawing program, thank you very much.
you started off with a basic rectangle patch foundaton but didn't explain how you made that. That is the part I need for a project I'm working on. I don't know how to get the background and especially the wide, tight satin stitch edging
The pouch foundation is digitized, which is why I did not mention that. The patch is available on my website. Otherwise, you would have to learn how to digitize and that will require a different software program.
I use Sew What Pro. It's affordable, easy to use, and it does just as well as the more expensive editors out there!!! Thanks for asking! Here is a link: sandscomputing.com/products-shop/sewwhatpro-embroidery-editor/
aydensgranna Whoops! I completely missed the "digitize" part of your question. 😣 I currently use Wilcom Hatch for digitizing. I have used Sew Art for digitizing simpler things as well. Thanks for re-asking! 😄
Hi Mrs Eve.... I have been trying to do patches but I am having trouble creating the the box with the stitching and the satin boarder that goes around the box filled with stitches.... do you have a video for just the first few steps?
Shannon Margaret Not in Sew What Pro. I actually used a digitizing program to create the box. Sew What Pro has a sister program called Sew Art that allows you to create the box and the border. Sew What Pro is only for editing and combining existing designs, not creating them. 👌🏽
If you do design and make your own patches, please share them with me! Any viewer submitted pics of their patches will be featured in an upcoming video. 😄

Hi thanks for all the great content. I didn’t know E6000 is safe for clothes, they have so many caveats about the use. Thanks
Good video thanks looks good
Always Love your videos!
Good information on making patches. What is the link for the patch fabric?
Thanks for your videos. Very informative. I don't have a machine but, I'm thinking of getting one. Investigating stage right now.
Be sure to tune in Live on Sundays at 7pm Eastern Standard Time when you get your machine so we can ring the bell for you!!!
Your patch you just made can it be satin stitch around it? If so can you show how to do that, please and thank you!

Have you done patches with velcro backing?
Yes! That's one of my biggest patch customers. Velcro security patches.
@@TheBabysBooty were can I find that?
The velcro I mean

Hello Eve when making patches. How do you make the rectangle and the border.
I use a digitizing program or you can use Sew What Pro and add in a border of the patch size to make it.
Hi Eve ignore the previous text...I’ve purchased your patch 😊
🤗 Let us know how you enjoyed making a patch!
@@TheBabysBooty I loved it! ❤ the stitches came out beautiful. I don't know how to send you picture.
You created your patch on sew what pro. You said you prefer it to be filled with a thread bottom. How do you fill it?
I have a bobbin winder that I use to fill bobbins. Alternatively, on the 4x4 machines it has a bobbin winder built in.
Thanks for sharing.
You are very welcome! Thank YOU for viewing! 😀
AWESOME!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Nice. It looks like a lot of material is wasted ... Is there a way to save it or reuse it?

Hi Eve what is the best needle to use when embroidering on a hoodie. and the weight of the thread.
75/11 and regular weight embroidery thread is 40wt.
Thank you so much for explaining it so thoroughly,
You're welcome! Thank you for watching our videos and for leaving a comment! 🙂

How do you make the patch background?
It is made with digitizing software. Sew Art is an affordable digitizing option.
can u hoop the cut away instead of fabric to make the patches
Could the patch size be adjusted
I do not suggest re-sizing designs by very much at all. In this example, 3/4 in is the ideal size font for this patch.
Is the 3/4 size is the only size to fit in patch
No, the font can be smaller, but I wouldn't go much bigger.
Hi Eve I’ve had this program for years never used in vid you say info tab I don’t see can you please get back to help thanks
Hi Eve how did you make the patch
I digitized it myself with a digitizing program.

Hello eve what type of needle do you use if you use the sticky back stabilizer
Regular 75/11 embroidery needle.
What is the purchase price for See What Pro from your website?
Same price as the main site, $65.
thanks!
great video,I was looking into doing patches .thank you .
Janet McKinney Thank you! 😚 I look forward to hearing about your successful patches! 😊
What is the website to buy the patch fabric?
Gunold.com
Can I upload a logo to Sew What Pro so that I can stitch it from my machine?
No. That is capable with the program SewArt.
What is the red thing on the screw on your hoop?
It is a pencil grip that I cut in half. Helps cushion my fingers while I tighten the screw.
That is a good idea! Thanks
hi Eve you are wearing my dress...LOL I have the same dress same color
Rhonda CW 😄😄😄😂😂😂 Hey! Great minds think alike! 💗
would you please send me you website so I can purchase the patch and other things you have please
Did you create/digitize the basic patch in SA? Both SA and SWP are great programs. Necessary tools. Thanks for sharing your method.

Where do you show the embroidery for thi? This was all talking
+K Mcleod I didn't put the embroidery stitchout on here to keep the video from being too long. 🤔☺
How did you created the solid back for the patch?, I'm trying to make my own patch but I can not add stitches to the back
tumamauto there is a create border feature on SWP that you can add a satin stitch border to your design
Ok 😞
