I'm looking forward to more videos from you and learning more about what my brother se425 can do. Thanks again I feel soooooo much better. Going to give it a try.
Thanks so much, I'm trying to get the hang of it. Guess my problem is cutting the image, understanding that and I also deleted a file by accident. Think I missed something there when saving thought I was deleting the image I was trying to cut. I'll keep working on it sure I will get it sooner or later. Promise to keep you in mind before throwing machine out window if I get stuck. Thanks so much for a great video.
Aack! Please don't throw it out the window! LOL! Let me know if I can help... It may take me a moment to gret a response, but I promise i'll work on it!
I have owned an embroidery machine for several years but quickly became disappointed with the 4x4 designs, so I bought the 4x6 repositionable hoop a couple of years ago, but have never used it. This video is awesome!! I am so glad I found this video and am excited again to start using my little SE350 again! Thanks for making this video. Excellent verbal and visual instructions!!
Thank you so much for this video. This is the first time that I came across any information on the repositional hoop. You've explained it so well, and I fully appreciate that you took the time to let us know that there is an option for those of us stuck with the 4X4.
Thank you so much for your videos! I am VERY new to machine embroidery and just got my software today! I am learning so much already from your tutorials! I have stitched out some small designs and now I'm trying to make a lap quilt so this tutorial has been a life saver!! THANK YOU again!
I really enjoy all of your Sew What Pro tutorials. I was wondering if you could make a tutorial about using the anchor point on Sew What Pro. I really don't understand how to use it. Thank you,
This was a terrific tutorial, just like all of your other videos on machine embroidery. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow and take a lot of the mystery out of how to make projects go from ho-hum to beautiful. I have learned so much from your instructions. Thank you!
This is really the best tutorial I’ve come across for learning how to split a design. Thank you for taking the time to explain and most importantly make it understandable.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I just this week got my very first sewing/embroidery machine and I am excited to begin making! Your videos are so insightful and helps me to be more confident in beginning my embroidery journey!!
i really appreciate how simple you made it seem with the reposition hoops. What is the name of the software that you use in this tutorial? Thanks for sharing..
Thanks for the advice. I started getting frustrated with my new brother sb 7050e due to the 4x4 hoop even though the manual stated it could use the larger hoop. Hope I get through with it now after watching this video.
OMG!!!! This video was awesome. I received the SE400 for Christmas and love the machine overall. But was becoming disappointed in being limited to the 4x4 (3.8 x 3.8) embroidery area. I'm ordering my Repositional Hoop & Sew What Pro today!!!! Do you have links? I look forward to watching more of our videos.
I tried the tutorial, it was good the only thing I had an issue with it asked me to cut each piece. I had no clue. so I open the cutting icon and pointed out the design in each section then I was able to save it.
Subscribed to your channel - I'm new to machine embroidery and SWP . Looked in the FB SWP group and saw your video recommended - BY FAR the best I've seen, and I've watched lots over the past month! Thank you so much and look forward to watching more!
I actually am having a bit of trouble. I'm trying to do these exact steps for a design I imported from SewArt that I made. It's a text file with only 1 color and when I go to save it it says "the following color blocks must be cut: 1" I read your previous response to Peggy in regards to having to adjust it so that it's not in a part of another hoop but I noticed in your tutorial when you were clicking p1, p2, and p3 some parts of your design was in both hoops. I'm just not sure exactly what I need to do inorder for it to allow me to save it properly. I have tried to adjust the size to make it not intersect at all but it seems almost impossble. Hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance!!
+Lacey Dalimonte it does make sense. When you are trying to use the repositional hoop, your design basically has to be split into 3 hoop sections (if it's that big). So, say the design is a name and its 6 inches. You have to leave all the letters seperate for the repositional hoop to work. Or, if it's a 6in flower vine, then you have to use the CUT function to cut the design into 3 hoops. Your machine only does 4x4 (or 5x7 for others) so the pattern you do HAS to be in 4x4 (or 5x7) sections.
THANK YOU!!!!!! I was able to do my first repositionable hoop today thanks to your help! You're such an amazing teacher and person! I really hope your husband gets well soon. Thanks again for helping me so much today! Talk to you soon!
We were discussing the re-positionable hoop in SWP Group & someone offered a really good tip. If you are planning to do lettering for this hoop, do NOT Join Threads until AFTER SWP has split it for the different hoop positions or you might have to manually split it. Hope this makes sense.
+Barb515 I usually manually split my designs with the multi-hoop. I found out the hard way that joining the threads makes it not "connect" as perfectly as I designed it.
Hi Eve, I have a babylock machine. My question is this in general, is it necessary to lower the feed dogs when doing embroidery? I know Brother and Babylock machines are made by the same company. Thanks for the video!
Today I used by first time my repositional hoop, it turned out soooo nice!!! I just embroidered a sample, but loved it💕 and really easy thanks to your tutorial🙌🏻 I just have one question in regard SWP, in your video on the computer screen the hoop was laying horizontal while in my screen it was vertical and I didn't knew how to rotate it to watch the design properly, I will appreciate your help! Thanks in advance 🙏🏼
To rotate it, you have to select the opposite size hoop from the hoop menu. Hit Ctrl key, hold it down and press the letter H. It should open up the Hoop options. You have one overlap hoop size... say 3.94 x 6.77. If that's the one that's selected, then pick the opposite one. 6.77 x 3.94. That will give you the "rotated" hoop. Enjoy!
Thank you for these videos, they are awesome and understandable! I just purchased a Brother SE600, could you tell me if this overlap hoop would work with my machine? The reviews on Amazon states that it does, but would like to know for sure. I know brother does have a SA434 but it's very expensive, which I am willing to pay but if this will work I will go for this one. Thank you again!!
Hi Eve, thanks for taking the time to make this video. I’ve recently purchased the Brother Innovis 97e, very similar to your Brother SE400, but mine doesn’t have a sewing machine side of it. Just an embroidery machine. I’ve also purchased the reposition hoop which arrived today. I am researching Sew What Pro, and seriously thinking of purchasing this software or possibly embrilliance?? I’d like to ask you which you would think is best for a beginner and also does sew what pro include the beautiful font you use for this video?? Look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks Diane from Manchester England.
I suggest Sew What Pro. It is SO EASY to use! If you download the trial, I have a video on how to test out the trial version. Congrats on the new baby!!! Please be sure to reach out if you have any questions!
Thank you so much for all of your videos! I’ve been using this method for quite some time but I think I accidentally touched my alignment and now my embroidery is overlapping even though I’m moving my hoop over! I have a brother se600. Do you think you can help? Thank you so much!!!
I have a Brother LB6800' do you need to have some kind of embroidery software to use the depositions hoop? Could you do a video of what this would look like on the embroidery machine screen? Thank you!
I use Sew What Pro to cut apart designs for the repositional hoop. Software is the best option. On the embroidery machine screen, it won't show as a repositional hoop, so you have to lay it out yourself in each position. It's not impossible, but MUCH harder!
Hi I’m so hoping you see this. I brought this hoop like three years ago my question is do I need to get that software in order to use this hoop and if so how much does the software cost thank you
Maris Rios The hoop should be listed on Amazon with your model #. I believe I have a link in the video description. Many times it is mistakenly listed as the overlap 5x7, but it's actually 4x6.8
Thank you so much for this video! I tried it with one name and it worked! However when I tried again with another name, slightly larger, it saved the 3 (p1 p2 p3) files, but on my machine half the letters were missing. Any idea why this could be? Thank you so much for your time.
Thank you! I’ve been looking at tutorial videos trying to understand this and they were not helpful. Your’s was so easy to understand!! So excited to try this now!
Beautiful tutorial. Can I use SWP without sew write or any other lettering engine? Do you use sew write? If yes, are the fonts worth it? Do they come out beautiful? Is it better to invest in it rather than buying fonts from designs by juju? Your opinion would be highly appreciated.
I prefer to purchase fonts from companies like Designs By Juju because sew write does come with pre-digitized fonts, but the other companies expand on your collection.
@@TheBabysBooty Thank you for your quick response. If I just bought SWP and have not downloaded sew write or any other font types, can add words to designs, write and edit?
@@EverythingCustomMade Yes you can. There are a couple of ways to do it, but the easiest way can be found in my video info/icon view. The button location isn't in the same place on the toolbar, but the button looks the same. Its the next toolbar down and more to the right.
Hi Eve, love your videos, thank you! I'm really new to embroidery, so new that I just bought the Brother PE535, and I'm wondering if that repositional hoop can be used on the PE535? Beginning to be sorry already I didn't go bigger :D Thank you.
I just bought the same one as well and I feel like I should have goen bigger to. ut didn't have to much money thats why I went with this. Where you able to get a larger hoop and do it. I hope to do it too. Thanks
I bought the hoop but I'm very new to this. I bought the brother LB6800. The letters it comes with are tiny even the large. Does this program make them bigger or can I buy bigger letters? Thanks for your help. I want to put a name on a blanket and monogram on a robe.
Where did you purchase your Sew What Pro? I was going to shell out the money for Embrillance but decided to go with SWP after watching your videos. I've the brother SE400 and PE800 with those hoops.
Lorraine Cotton I considered being a teacher, but for the elderly. I used to want to have computer and tablet instruction classes. 😊 I was a grandpa's baby, and they told me I was born with an "old soul", so I love being with the older folk. I am VERY happy to know this video was helpful! 👍🏽 Thanks for watching! 😄
your videos are great! So easy to understand. I have a 4 x 4 hoop with my machine as well. I have bought a repositional hoop and used it since watching your videos. I would like to know can I only buy 4 x 4 designs or can I buy 5 x7 designs and reduce them to fit my hoop? thanks for any help.
Amanda Turton Using the repositional hoop still will not allow you to use 5x7 designs. You could try to shrink them to make them fit, but in most instances you will find that the design won't stitch out as cleanly due to the drastic size decrease.
Thank you!!!! Bless you! I just got my repositional hoop for my SE425 and I didnt see any info about it but your video. To the point and needed. How do you like your multineedle machine?
You can! The steps are the exact same for both machines. I don't have the 5x7 embroidery machine, but the repositional hoop method is more about the software and how you split the design than the machine itself.
Hi Everyone, i recently purchased SWP and i have been watching these tutorials, i have a question if anyone can clarify it for me, i was comparing this design split video for repositional hoop vs the one one multiple parts repositional hoop tutorial. The way splitting the design was different, in this video there was no "starting point" selected but in the other video there was a starting point selected. Did i missed something? A little confused here 😄
I have brother se 400 and brother design 10, do you know how to use the repositionable hoop with design 10? I am considering SWP, but hate to keep spending money. Thank you, love your ideas and videos.
I apologize, however I have not used BD10. I do understand not wanting to spend more when you've already invested elsewhere. Check on FB to see if there is a help group for design 10.
Eve, your video is very clear. Just wondering - are you using a Mac or PC? I went to the link and as a Mac user I will have to install an emulator software. I'm not sure if this will make it more difficult to use. TIA.
I use a PC. From what I understand, the mac installation is quite a few more steps since you have to use an emulator, however once the installation is done, everything else functions the same!
Hi again. I am practicing with this feature following your directions in this video. I have everything set, (small overlap hoop, etc.) as you directed. But when I click on 'Save', a block comes up telling me I must 'cut' the design before it can be saved using this hoop size. Am I missing something? Any advice is greatly appreciated.. Thanks!
+Peggy Bowe practice makes perfect! Great job! When you see that message, it means part of the design is in between two hoops. If you click on "P1" it will put a box around that part of the pattern and you can click each color stop to determine the offending part of the pattern. You may have to move it a little to get it in its own section.
Hi i love your video but have a question......"When purchasing our pes embroidery what is the largest size we can get in order to fit in the Repositioning Hoop? I purchase the one you said and it fits perfect in my Brother LB7000 which is a 4x4 but i am confused on size, i usually get a 4x4 but is the largest i can purchase? Thank you so much?
Does the Repositional Hoop work with the SWP trial program? If so I must be doing some thing wrong. I make sure the size fit the hoop and it shows on screen that it divided in P1, P2 and P3 but when I go to save it, it only has just P1 or P1and P2 part of design. I've tried letters and images... same problem. Please help if you can. Thanks in advance...love all your tutorials, you are an excellent teacher with a great personality!!!
+SaunWhee From what I understand (I have never used the limited version) the limitation is with color stops. So if you have more than 3 color stops (on the right panel, no more than 3 different lines, no matter what colors they are) then it won't save properly.
Love the videos . I keep trying but for some reason when I save and send to machine only one section goes. I'm not sure if I'm picking the wrong hoop or because one section is wider than the 4inches. I'm getting so frustrated.
At about 9:05 in the video you show your Windows File Explorer box, with actual images shown for the files icons. What setting combination or additional formatting/software do you have to show other than generic/blank icons. I've tried setting view for various size icons and can get nothing but blank icons.
Hi Eve can u use some of designs already programmed in the machine along with some of the fonts? I have Brother LB 6800 4 x4. To try the Demo SWP what would be the best designs to purchase such as the little crown and the alphabets letters and numbers? I already have the bigger hoop.
You can use some of the designs and fonts already in the machine, however you would have to do them separately from your added designs/fonts. In other words, if you use a heart that's already in the machine, you would have to program the machine to stitch that first then program your fonts aligned in SWP and stitch those second (or vice versa). The best designs to purchase and use with Demo SWP would be any designs you like that are 3 color stops or less. You would have to check the thread chart that most companies add with their designs to see how many color stops there are. Demo SWP will only allow up to 3 color stops per design saved.
+Maris Rios Try to save it again. Select "save as" and this time look at where it is trying to save the file. That's usually where the file has gone. If not, save it again in a more familiar location while you have "save as" open. 😊
I can't even express how great this tutorial was! You were extremely clear and concise, and touched on everything we needed to know, no more no less, that we need to know for repositioning the hoop

I can't wait to try this!! Thank you so much!
The Crafty Grandma You're welcome! Enjoy!
I only have a 5x7 hoop, will your instructions work for me?
Thank you thank you !!!!!!!!!! You explain things so well !!!!!
Very helpful video
Thank you kindly!
Hi I’m so hoping you see this. I brought this hoop like three years ago my question is do I need to get that software in order to use this hoop and if so how much does the software cost thank you
hi Eve, thank you so much for making this video, can i ask what font you used for the name here the letters are really pretty
Thanks so much! Just subscribed. What a great video! Which hoop size should I choose for a 4x4 hoop? Thanks.
What size file should I buy to do an image for a repositional hoop? Thanks for the tutorial!

This video was awesome, I am learning a lot from you, maybe teaching is another one of your calling :)
You could try to shrink them to make them fit, but in most instances you will find that the design won't stitch out as cleanly due to the drastic size decrease.
thank you
Thank you!!!! Bless you! I just got my repositional hoop for my SE425 and I didnt see any info about it but your video. To the point and needed. How do you like your multineedle machine?
I LOVE it! Thank you for asking! What are you embroidering with your repo hoop?
Can you use the repositional hoop on the Brother PE 800. Also could you please make a video of how.
You can! The steps are the exact same for both machines. I don't have the 5x7 embroidery machine, but the repositional hoop method is more about the software and how you split the design than the machine itself.
I was about to ask the same question i just got the pe800 so work the same correct
Ok. Thank you. Will practice some more & let you know how I do. Thanks a bunch!
Great video and informative. Much needed 😃👍
Thank you.
Eve that was a great video, can't wait to try it out.
You got this!!! Let me know how well it goes! 👍
I'm wondering if you can use the repositional hoop for in-the-hoop designs?
Can you teach me how to quilt with this hoop? Is it possible?
Can you use the repositions hoop without embroidery software?
It would be pretty difficult, but yes you can.
Very helpful. Thank you so much.
Awesome Help !!!
holy cow! mind blown!!!! thank you thank you!!! :D subscribed
It's just one of the little ways to make life easier 👍🙂 Thank you for watching and becoming a subscriber!
Love the videos . I keep trying but for some reason when I save and send to machine only one section goes. I'm not sure if I'm picking the wrong hoop or because one section is wider than the 4inches. I'm getting so frustrated.
You have to be sure to select one of the "overlap" hoops. And if you did, i usually send designs to the machine manually, not through the program.
I think I tried that too. I'll just keep working on it. Thank you
I just received a brother SE625 for my birthday can this still work , is the larger hope still compatible like with the SE 400
Thank you thank you just what I need
You're welcome! Thank you for letting me know the video was helpful!
repositional hoop tutorials for pe10 and floriani if you can
At about 9:05 in the video you show your Windows File Explorer box, with actual images shown for the files icons. What setting combination or additional formatting/software do you have to show other than generic/blank icons. I've tried setting view for various size icons and can get nothing but blank icons.
Sew iconz
www.thebabysbooty.com/sewiconz this is the program I installed to show me the thumbnails.
Thanks for the game! 🤘
What hoop size did you use?
Hi, what script letters did you used for that name? where can I find them?
Ahh, But it would it work on a SE 625?
Yes ma'am.
how do you show the hoop postions to show up ?
wow, great thanks so much!
Help please. I want to but the re positional hoop for my se 600. It’s unavailable at amazon. Is there another store that sells
This is usually sold on Amazon by several sellers. I am unaware of a store outside of Amazon that sells it.
Hi, I did all these steps but now I don't know where the file went too. I hit save, but don't know where it saved. What should I do?
+Maris Rios Try to save it again. Select "save as" and this time look at where it is trying to save the file. That's usually where the file has gone. If not, save it again in a more familiar location while you have "save as" open. 😊
