I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it. But it's easier to do a straight stitch on the avocado seed, take the hoop off machine, cut off extra material, then do your satin stitch on top.
You're video was such a pleasure to watch. You speak so calmly. Also thank you for taking it slow and easy. Very enjoyable to watch and listen to. I have watched other videos but you made me feel like I can do this.
Thank you for this! I had been carefully cutting the fabric around it before the satin stitch and because I have a painful wrist condition, it was hurting so much! Now I know I can just finish the whole appliqué and cut it around the satin stitch. This video is a lifesaver!
I struggle with hand cramps when doing tiny cutting, so i now use vinyl (they have matte) and tear it away then heat press it- its faster and works for me- I love having the glitter option as well!
Thanks for your awesome tutorial! 😊 I’ve had my embroidery machine about 6 months now & I somehow haven’t made a patch yet! Lol I am definitely attempting to make some now! Just subscribed!
Hi, thank you for your video. I have a question tho... Can you pre-cut all the shapes, position on location to the applique area and have a satin border go half way its line width into the fabric? Thanks
Definitely! The iron on process would be exactly the same, the only main difference would be the embroidery machine makes quite a flat stitch which allows the glue to get a good fix onto it. Let me know if you give it a try! :)
Do you ever find the spray adhesive and or tack glue gums your needle and or machine? Just curious as the store I bought my machine from said it would. Is there a solution to remedy this?
I haven't found any issues with the needle, but it definitely makes the top of the machine sticky so I make sure to clean it regularly. I do change my needle quite a bit though, so maybe it is causing issues with it.
You can find some good deals second hand, the cheapest one I've found is the Brother Innov-Is F440E. You can get cheaper combination models, but I've found them not to be very reliable. Good luck with your embroidery! :)
I want to learn how to do a custom logo patch. I'm an embroidery beginner and it seems a little overwhelming. To start once hooped how to I do the outline or shape of patch? Andy then can I embroider a logo inside outline? Thanks
Hiya, there are some combination machines which do sewing and some embroidery. Or you could try using a zigzag stitch for the edging but it would all be manual work which can be tricky x

Thank you so much I didn’t know that the heat and bond was to make patches, I tought it was only to keep the fabric thicker.

Can you machine wash and dry of the clothes with the iron on patches?

thank you for this!
You’re so welcome 🙂 x
Do you know of a comparable machine with a smaller price tag? Something for hobby embroidery and sewing if possible.
You can find some good deals second hand, the cheapest one I've found is the Brother Innov-Is F440E. You can get cheaper combination models, but I've found them not to be very reliable. Good luck with your embroidery! :)
You need to do more videos x
That’s very kind 😊 more coming soon! X
hi, what type of threads do you use ? poliester ?
Where do you buy the iron on adhesive?
Great video. Where can I find the raccoon file?
Thank you I haven't put up the files for anything just yet. I'll let you know when I do
I want to learn how to do a custom logo patch. I'm an embroidery beginner and it seems a little overwhelming. To start once hooped how to I do the outline or shape of patch? Andy then can I embroider a logo inside outline? Thanks
Hey, most patterns come with an outline which will stitch first, to add a logo you would likely need a digitising software x
oh my god you're adorable
Haha thanks
Any more videos coming ??
Can you use a sewing machine for embroidery stitching?
Hiya, there are some combination machines which do sewing and some embroidery. Or you could try using a zigzag stitch for the edging but it would all be manual work which can be tricky x
What type of machine u use? Brother?
It's a Janome Memory Craft 350e
B
what software did you use to digitize your design?
do we have to use felt or adhesive?
Felt is great for patches as it’s strong but other fabrics will work too, I would avoid thin and floaty or stretchy fabrics though 🙂 x
