Thank you so much for your kind words and support my friend, it means the world to me and I am so very happy I could help you. Also, that is one of the reasons I started this channel, at 13, the internet was not really out... I had to learn everything on my own... my uncles and step father knew about computers, but didn't have time for me.... so I had to teach myself everything. Fast forward a few years, youtube came out, and there were a few tech channels, and every knew how to do stuff and said, here is easy, look and flew threw things, didn't really show it, which to me means they don't know either, but that's a different story. I would see in the comments people saying thanks so much for the help, but I have this question, stuff they would fly over in the videos, and they would never get answered, so that made me want to make this channel. I was a reviewer initially with Dragonblogger, you will find a lot of my videos there (I started ThisBytesForYou 5 years ago, so it would be after that but I am still very close with Justin Germino, the owner of Dragonblogger) then I came here and did everything on my own but with my focus on teaching everything I could, I am so very happy I could help you.
@@ThisBytesForYou interesting! Thanks for sharing your journey with the pc world..its so great that we are getting your extensive knowledge basically for free. For somone like me who is going to build the first pc ever. This is invaluable. Other channels only focus on fancy editing , music lights and high production quality just to get more and more subscribers since that sells well to attract wider audience. They barely reply to comments and are always looking for hot topics to cover without any substantial knowledge to be shared! Although I do enjoy those videos at times to get some news briefly but the real stuff is what you are doing with your channel for sure! Keep up the good work and sharing your knowledge 👏 I am sure this channel is bound to grow more 🙌
@@abhisheksakpal484 thanks so much my friend for wording it all so well, this is exactly what I am going after. I am pushing so hard to help as many people as I can and yeah, trying really hard to have it grow as well, it would help tons if you could share my videos, tremendously as word of mouth is the best advertisement. Also as for commenting yes, it upsets me all the channels that have all the good stuff, but won't help if you have a question, they don't care about their audience, and I get if they don't answer a few comments, I miss some too, youtube is horrible about notifications, but they dont reply to any. Those channels rely on their own audience to help other viewers but the problem is many will give bad advice and I want to make sure to help everyone with good information and they can share that information with their friends, knowing that it is correct. You don't need to power up the MOBO to updates it's BIOS. One simply puts the MOBO updater drive in the rear USB port marked "BIOS", and hold the button for 3 seconds. Wait a few mins for the LED to stop lighting up, and once the light stays off it's done. Great video, though!
that is if your CPU is not supported, it's called BIOS flashback, you cannot do that if your CPU is supported. Thanks for the compliments as well, and I am so happy you enjoyed it.

There is no save and reset, save and exit is what you do. If you don't have an os on that drive, it will boot from the thumb drive with windows on it. Do you have that?
Always a pleasure my friend, and yes, you can flash the bios without messing with your OS but just know you will need to reset the BIOS afterwards, so it might be a good idea to take screenshots for later.
Excellent video man. Thanks for making it so clear. Now, a question, did you experience any issues with your LAN port? Disconnecting, losing packages, Windows not recognizing it? I don't have this Motherboard yet, I was planning to get it, buy I read that people have issues with the internet connection because of the Intel LAN Chipset. Thanks in advance.
thanks so much my friend, so very happy you enjoyed it. If you do experience this, Uninstall the LAN drivers it has now, then rescan for drivers and let windows pic it up, that should help. This was the issue they were having
@@ThisBytesForYou thanks for your quick response, didn't buy it yet, but IF I find this problem I'm doing this. I've read on Reddit, that a guy downloaded the LAN drivers directly from the Intel site. This is for anyone having this issue.
@@fergatoreyvirgo always a pleasure my friend, well this is one of those things where I hate asus for re-writting the installer. Thanks for the video! I know this video is a bit old, but I have a question. When trying to install Windows, I consistently run into this error message: "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant." This keeps coming up even after I update the BIOS. Any suggestion on this?

CPU - manufacturer and exact model number 3. RAM - manufacturer and exact model number 4. Video Card - manufacturer and exact model number 5. Power supply - manufacturer and exact model number 6. UEFI in the BIOS from Legacy. If it was set to Legacy, you will need to reinstall windows to get correct support. 7. Disable CSM in the BIOS 8. M.2 - Manufacturer and exact model number, if you have any, and how many you have in this system 9. Regular SSD - Manufacturer and exact model number, if you have any, and how many you have in this system 10. Hard Drive - Manufacturer and exact model number, if you have any, and how many you have in this system 11. How did you create the windows 10 install media?
you will need a product key later, the windows 10 install will last you for a few months then you will see the windows 10 water mark, after about 6 months or so, the performance will start to drop and you will need to either enter your product key, or just wipe and reload the operating system.

I see the way you have your ram installed. Does this motherboard prefer the ram be in slot 2-4 instead of 1-3 ? Numbered from closest to cpu to furthest
Most motherboards prefer 2 and 4, without the one at 2, your PC won't boot up, BUT not all boards are the same. Make sure to read the manual for your board or the board you are considering purchasing.

Hello, I’m a beginner. Thanks for the video. Is what you do in the “setting up the bios on the asus rog strix” necessary or can I leave it at auto? Also should these setting shown by you remain the same post installation of drives?
there is a small chance auto would work, but you can try it. I make these videos for beginners, so it should help. The memory speed should be raised, as I lowered it, below XMP standards to cleanly install windows.

@@walidmadoun1301 OK, give this a try, you can follow my instructions here for downloading windows 10, then my instructions here for installing it, try it on a spare drive, it may help: Downloading Windows 10: ruclips.net/video/C759I7DBXd8/видео.html and then follow this video for reinstalling windows: ruclips.net/video/AWxliGLert8/видео.html. I recommend trying it on a spare drive, so you can see if this will fix your problem. In general, I never recommend upgrades and even more discourage downgrades, they ruin stuff. Very awesome and well explained video. Question for u on the m.2 how do u know if it’s gen 3 r gen 4. Can I select gen 4 even if I’m not sure? I did some beach testing and my m.2 drive was doing 349% when I installed my video card and did a bench my m.2 dropped in benching to 315% so was curious if my video card caused my m.2 to go lower on bench testing?
The ssd dropped because the video card took some pcie lanes. Things that take pcie lanes are sata drives, m.2 sata drives, anything that goes in the pcie slots,... Trying to think of more. The manufacturers site will tell you if it's a gen 3 or 4. Also, update your sata controller and raid drivers, that should help performance as well. What are you using for testing? And thanks for your kind words. Also, the board manufacturer will tell you which m.2 ports are by 4 or by 3 and you might be able to raise them if they are not already set in the bios.
so go into your device manager, right click on the start button and click "Device Manager" click to expand "Network Adapters" and you should see the ethernet adapter there, it could be errored out, go ahead and right click on it, click "Update Driver", click "Browse my computer for drivers" then click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer', then click ""Have Disk" then navigate to the directory you extracted your ethernet drivers then click Open, and it should install. Now, you will need to download them from some your other pc then bring it over to this pc.
Great video. I have a question though. Can I flash the BIOS without a CPU installed? I have this motherboard, but I am ordering a new 5950X processor, and this motherboard doesn't support it without flashing the BIOS, I think, so how would I flash it with no processor?
yes you can, it's called BIOS Flashback, i wish I could help you on it, but I could not do it because my cpu was supported. Check the manual dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/ROG_STRIX_B550-F_GAMING/E16610_ROG_STRIX_B550-F_GAMING_WI-FI_UM_WEB.pdf
I just bios flashed my ASUS Dark Hero motherboard and it did go well..Do you now how i can put more bootoptions load into the Windows Boot Manager in the BIOS????????Has the CSM setting something to do with it?????
if you had CSM disabled, and you enabled it or visa versa, that will cause an issue. You can add more options in the Windows Boot Manager by working with the BCD tables. So the BIOS didn't go well, why, because you can't get into Windows? That can be many things. 1. Did you have UEFI enabled/disabled before, set it to what you had before 2. Was CSM disabled or enabled before, set it to what you had before 3. Do you have the correct drive in your boot options, if before it showed you drive name, you had UEFI set to Legacy, you need to set it back to legacy, save and exit

No, I did not overclock at all, actually I never overclock unless I am doing an overclocking video. Overclocking will get you a few more frames per second and potentially make your system unstable, I do t recommend overclocking. Always a pleasure my friend so happy to see you back

Sorry I’m a bit confused. Upon finish building the pc. Do I download windows first then download the Bios onto a flash drive and restart the system with the flash drive in. Or do I install the bios using a different laptop then plugging it into the mobo?
you could do which ever, but if you have the latest gen cpu's, you will need to flash the BIOS on the board using the BIOS Flashback function in order to make the board work with the cpu.

because the chipset on AMD.... is the latest and greatest, because it is from AMD. From Asus, it is always older and has all the Asus garbage included. Make sense?
Hi! I just bought a used r7 2700x and a new asus b450m plus mobo. Should i update the bios/uefi before installing windows? Do i even need to update It? The motherboard should be ryzen 3000 compatible (At least It says so on the box.) so the bios should be somewhat new? I allready tried that everything works, but then got stuck on this issue. I like how your videos are calm. Easy to keep up with what you are doing. Keep up the good work! 👌 Full specs: 2700x Tuf b450m plus Gtx 1060 3gb 16gb hyperx ddr4 Intel 660p SSD
thanks my friend, I do greatly appreciate your kind words. AS for the CPU, the CPU is good from bios 0220 and on and 0220 has been around since 2018/06/15 , so I think you are good, BUT, I always think you should have the latest and great BIOS as if you read the release notes, they fix a lot of things and make sure you have performance benefits. Make sure prior to updating the BIOS (which I always recommend), make sure to read all the release notes from the version you are on till the latest and see if there are any notes sayin, "before you update to this version, make sure you have this version". I hope this helps.
Thank you for your answer! You gave me the courage to pull this through❤ I actually used the update bios via internet option in the asus ez utility and it went smoothly, but it didn't update to the latest bios. So had to download the latest version and flash It from a usb drive. I checked that my usb was fat32, read asus instructions and watched our video few times and DONE! Now to installing windows 😅

@@devonefoster105 always a pleasure my friend. Make sure you are subscribed and clicked like on this video so you know when my next video comes out (I released one 3 hours ago) but so you can see more videos that might help.
Yes, but it is always recommended to have the latest BIOS, actually the last BIOS that just came out gives you a better infinity band connection so you can get MUCH more performance out of your ram.
Always a pleasure my friend, so very happy you enjoyed the video and it helped you out. Thank you so much for stopping by, checking out my video, liking and subbing as well as taking time out of your day to thank me, it means a ton to me. Today at 12PM EST (In a little over 3 hours) I will be releasing a wiring guide on an updated system with this board then I will record a video of flashing with the newer BIOS to show a little more of what it provides. If you have the notification bell clicked, you can be notified of those videos when they release.
yes it would, but you would need to use the BIOS flash back to have it support the processor, out of the box it will not support it although it may now, but it did not originally. Regardless, easy enough to get to work, you should have not problems.
After installing windows the armoury crate software and all that other stuff just downloaded by itself. I didn't need to do anything. Only watched this video for the BIOS-flashing part tho. Nice tutorial. For anyone who is scared of fuckin' it up, there is a BIOS-Flashback button on the IO-Shield which is very, very nice.
yup, it helps a ton. I prefer not to let the crate do it by itself, because it uses what Asus deems suitable, meaning their own chipset and raid drivers, when it is ALWAYS best to get them direct from AMD.COM but as long as it works for you, that is all that maters. BIOS' have come a long way, sooooooo much easier now. So very happy you enjoyed it my friend.
@@ThisBytesForYou Good to know. Didn't have many driver-related problems, except for the nvidia drivers which crashed because Davinci Resolve couldn't handle the gaming drivers. Switching to studio drivers helped.
@@_karla._ thats very odd, I use Wondershare FIlmora X (I know, they are different) but I utilize the CUDA cores with the hardware acceleration and have no issues, actually I have been using filmora since version 6 and have had maybe only 3 crashes. Did the error state it was NVIDIA? I only use gaming drivers too, but good to know.
@@_karla._ Aside from this, I have a ton on here I would invite you to check out, plus a drive comparison coming soon, maybe maybe, you might be interested in. Hope to see you around more often.
@@ThisBytesForYou It was highly unstable using the gaming drivers. Rendering didn't work at all. So I installed the Studio drivers, then it worked like a charm. But changing drivers in the nvidia geforce experience is not complicated at all. Yeah, might check that gdrive vid out :)
Hi! I'm using this guide to reinstall windows on my asus b550-e gaming motherboard, and so far so good. I have one question though, it's about the compressed zip folders of each driver. When I select to extract all, the uncompressed folder is larger than the original (for example the audio driver is 700mb unzipped and before it was 550mb), is it normal? Sorry for being paranoid but it's only the second time I had to do this kind of stuff.
yes, thats the way compression works, when you compress, you are making it smaller, when you uncompress it, they return to their original size, which is bigger than compressed.
@Onerii awesome bud, thanks so much for your kind words and support, it means the world to me and please let me know how it goes and if you have any other questions.
At 9:52 in the video, I see you download the Beta Version of the bios and not the latest released version. Was that intentional? Debating on installing beta 2420 or released 2407.
I don't see what version I would have gotten, but I would always get the latest, even if it was the beta BIOS. I come from a product development background, I like to have the latest.
@@ThisBytesForYou Thanks, I now have the mother board working with the latest (beta) bios with AMD 5700G APU. I had to take things a little slower downloading the drivers and put each one in a clearly named folder. I found some of those file names were not obvious. I did not install ASUS utilities nor the armoury crate. I have no LED lighting effects and a case with no window. I saw posts on Reddit that made me pause when it came to installing the ASUS software. Those posts also expressed frustration with it's removal. I have the 3rd revision (3) I225-V network chip. Hopefully chip is OK. Any thoughts or videos on stress testing? I am thinking we want to develop confidence in the build without over stressing any build parts.

Best tutorial for the initial setup! Most youtubers just fast forward all this and make it look like they show every thing!

They barely reply to comments and are always looking for hot topics to cover without any substantial knowledge to be shared!

11. How did you create the windows 10 install media?
if I download windows and use a flash drive instead of the product key will I face any problems in the future. or will I need to buy a product key
you will need a product key later, the windows 10 install will last you for a few months then you will see the windows 10 water mark, after about 6 months or so, the performance will start to drop and you will need to either enter your product key, or just wipe and reload the operating system.

@@ThisBytesForYou I have the same board as shown in this video! I have gotten my system to boot a few times but randomly it just won’t boot after building and I have my ram in slots 1/3 is why I ask.

The person who installed my windows after assembling my PC did none of this. Should I reinstall?
Well, your PC will work better if you did it before, but you can still do it now, after you have ran it for a while. Make sure you do it in the order I show you here, BIOS, Chipset, etc

I’m case anyone is having issues with it loading into the bios screen over and over after updating bios settings, I found that the reason for this is because I put all the windows files in a new folder, once I removed it from the folder it had no issues
well no, maybe in your case, there are many reasons why this happens. 1, you just upgraded your PC with liquid cooling and you have to tell your BIOS to ignore the rpms for your liquid cooling unit since its not a fan anymore. 2 you have to tell your BIOS you new boot order and that you booting from the windows boot manager 3, if you have multiple drives that each hd windows on it, tell it which windows boot manager to boot off of, 4 you have incorrect settings, there are tons.

Hey I have this motherboard and my Ethernet cable doesn’t work any idea how to fix it?
so go into your device manager, right click on the start button and click "Device Manager" click to expand "Network Adapters" and you should see the ethernet adapter there, it could be errored out, go ahead and right click on it, click "Update Driver", click "Browse my computer for drivers" then click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer', then click ""Have Disk" then navigate to the directory you extracted your ethernet drivers then click Open, and it should install. Yes, you can do it the same way, from NVIDIA.com
1. Did you have UEFI enabled/disabled before, set it to what you had before
2. Was CSM disabled or enabled before, set it to what you had before
3. Do you have the correct drive in your boot options, if before it showed you drive name, you had UEFI set to Legacy, you need to set it back to legacy, save and exit

thanks my friend, I do greatly appreciate your kind words.
You gave me the courage to pull this through❤

Hey would this motherboard work with Ryzen 7 5800x
yes it would, but you would need to use the BIOS flash back to have it support the processor, out of the box it will not support it although it may now, but it did not originally.
@@ThisBytesForYou Thank you for your reply! I'll finish setting everything up today. Already subscribed to your channel :)
@Onerii awesome bud, thanks so much for your kind words and support, it means the world to me and please let me know how it goes and if you have any other questions.
My problem is in windows setup it’s not giving me an option to use Wi-Fi. Only Ethernet and I don’t have that so I can’t get past that step
then just skip ahead
