What if your stuck in the "setup is starting screen"? It keeps pausing during it. I can move cursor but stuck on screen
Do you know a good site to get windows 10 pre product keys?
Thank you so much for this! Just so happen to have the same Motherboard and GPU so this was super helpful.
I was having trouble with getting a signal at first without realizing I had 2 harddrive without any OS installed, got that fixed and was brought to the bios screen. From there it was all you. Thanks man!
In the Armory crate do you ever download the softwarte in the Armory crate? Like the HAL for Rog Crosshair hero 8 etc.
Wanted to say thanks. First time I’ve ever built a PC from scratch. Followed your videos from start to finish and saved myself a ton building everything myself. Much appreciated!

It means a ton to me and I am so very happy I could help you. You are the very reason I started this channel and I am so very happy I could give you the confidence to do it on your own, thank you so much for letting me know, you've helped start my day off right ;)
Just wanted to thank you for this video and the previous one, you really did help me a lot on my build journey! I learned everything I needed to finish my PC, and the resutl is awesome, thank you my friend!

note for every one: put the video in 1.25 speed your welcome
That works for some, not for all, some people like the slower pace, to help them follow along without having to rewind and press play, you're welcome
This actually helped me to speed it up. Because I'm already familiar with everything just not with gigabyte. But not everyone is as familiar but either way this video was helpful!!!
Thanks
😆😂👌🏽
Coming from someone who is not familiar with this stuff and is building for the first time. This normal speed is ideal.
Awesome vid bro, working on my first build and you've made what could have been such an overwhelming process so much more manageable. Really appreciate the slow step by step process, your channel is easily worth subscribing to.

@@ThisBytesForYou can you tell me how to set for bios settle for asus maximus vii hero for intel chip..
Hello My friend, sorry I did not see this comment, you might get a lot of comments missed if you comment on another persons post, you should always try to start your own post on a video. That might be a very difficult one, since I dont have the board, but you should be OK, setting the CPU to Auto and memory to XMP.
@@ThisBytesForYou Can i ask you what is i slot 4 slot of ram with 2 different brand 2x8 is same another 2x8 pair is same...will this not to be recommend? Or should I stick all 4 ram for the same??
Stick to all 4 sticks being the same manufacturer and model number, mixing memory will give you potential errors now or down the road.
This is a well structured and informative video, nicely done.
I have this same board and same case but the XL version, also 3900x paired with a 3090 (msi suprim x).
I had a massive issue with my cpu overheating all the time and getting random bsods ever since I upgraded from a 1080Ti to the 3090. My old fan setup was 280mm rad at the top exhausting, 3 fans on the bottom and 3 fans on the side as intake and 1 rear exhaust (7x corsair LL120mm fans+2 stock nzxt kraken x62 fans on the rad). That is considered to be the best fan setup by many, people say that top should always be exhaust, which is something that I believed too but with a 400w gpu that is simply not the case.
Basically, my cpu was overheating because of all the heat that was exhausting through the rad from both the gpu and cpu (which is also why I was getting bsods only when both of these components were under stress) the fix to that issue was to rotate the 3 side fans to be exhaust instead of intake and the radiator fans, this is the part that might sound insane, to be INTAKE.
That dropped my cpu temps by 10-15c and my gpu runs only 2-3c hotter, also no more bsods.
I am leaving this here in case anyone has a similar issue, a 3090 outputs a lot of heat, so if you are not watercooling it, and you have a 280mm rad that can only fit on the top of the case it might very well be a better idea to have it intake instead of exhaust, also do keep in mind that you are not cooling the 60c+ hot cpu, you are cooling the 30c liquid.
Thanks my friend, but as you can see i have the same unit basically that you have, never had a single issue, it sounds like your BIOS might be setup incorrectly, you did not have proper contact with the coldplate, thermal paste or something, AMD BIOS' are VERY finicky (more so around the Memory). This case, with the side fans blowing in keep my system AMAZINGLY cool. I seriously think you have other issues, are you overclocked?
Thanks so much for the complement my friend, but I would love to get you running stable. What kind of memory do you have, how do you have it configured in the BIOS, are you overclocked? Maybe the XL is VEYR different, but I don't think so, but I haven't touched that one.
@@ThisBytesForYou I've updated to the latest bios which did not fix the issue, update all the drivers, still nothing. I have re-mounted the aio and re-applied the thermal paste (Kryonaut) and still had the same issues, again, before I got the 3090 the cpu was running cool, there were 0 issues with the system.
I would list everything I tried but it's quite a lot, if you are interested here's the link to a forum where people have advised me to swap the fans around, which seems like it worked perfectly as so far after many hours of playing games I had no bsods and no insane temps: forums.tomshardware.com/threads/irql_not_less_or_equal-bsod-and-pfn_list_corrupt-bsod-errors-during-gaming.3689396/page-2?view=date
It's a long read but it is interesting as it's not a common issue.
@@ThisBytesForYou I just realised I accidentally linked page 2 of the forum, if you want more detail please do check out page 1 as it contains quite a lot of troubleshooting that I tried. Sorry about that.
that is incredibly odd, maybe the XL is VERY different, I haven't had any issues what so ever on this, I am in love with, I wanted to get the XL to review,.... but maybe not, actually, yeah I really do now to point this out to LianLi, though I am sure by now they already know. I was a Product Development Engineer for Alienware, then later Dell when they bought us and then afterwards Velocity Micro. At velocity Micro we had a great relationship with LianLi but part of my job at all 3 places was to work on pre-released stuff and recommend things to the manufacturers, fix their issues and stuff like that, it was a great gig.
@@ThisBytesForYou It would be interesting to see if you'd face the same issue, I'd imagine that with the heat of a gen 4 nvme ssd mounted right above the gpu I'd bsod even faster with my rad exhausting. As far as I know the only difference between o11 and o11 xl is that the xl has a spot for a rear fan and is slightly bigger, which shouldn't be a bad thing. I don't know, some of these issues I've had during the last couple years.. its insane how obscure they get.
Awesome video thanks. I just purchased a similar Dark Hero VIII for my first time building a PC in 20+ years. A bit nervous but I will be coming back to your channel for some more tutorials. Incidentally I also have an EVGA FTW card so your tip about the ARG cable is sublime. I'd sooner have all rgb controlled through one piece of software if I can.
always happy to help my friend, so happy i could. Sadly, EVGA cards will not sync with ARGB cables, the ARGB cable is for fans you connect to the card. So you will still need to run 2 separate pieces of software for RGB.
@@ThisBytesForYou ah! Well thanks for the heads up. I'll live with that. Your level of detail, for my level its spot on. Its appreciated 🙂👍
Thank you so much my friend, I greatly appreciate your kind words, I really do love helping people so it feels great when I know I have. Also, if you dont see something you like on my site, and I feel like it would be a good fit, let me know, and I might make it.
First time PC builder here. I just got the same motherboard but the dark hero configuration. Thank you so much for this video. I had an issue with the pc always booting into the bios but it turned out it was because I didn't go into the bios and ignore the cpu fan (I installed an aio cooler). Thanks once again.
awesome bud, so very happy I could help you, it means the world to me that you let me know. The Dark and this board are VERY similar, almost identical with a few very minute differences, but I have a lot of build and wiring guides here that may help you as well. If you see something I might be missing, just let me know, I have over 400 videos, I am sure I have something that will help you.
Your the best in explaining computer building. As a 77 yr old, building my first computer, I for one like the slow pace, just my preference. I was finally able to buy my GPU...there for awhile I thought maybe I might not live long enough to get one but I now have a complete system. After watching many of your videos I came across a question I don't think Ive seen asked before. Do you have to have a keyboard and mouse that is wired into the system on your FIRST start up of your new system or can you use a wireless keyboard and mouse?
Awesome my friend, i am so very happy I could help you, it means the world to me that I could help you and that you took a moment out of your day to thank me, that is amazing. I am also very excited for you, I remember my first build, it not only felt great to do that, but I felt so proud of myself, a great feeling for sure. As for the wireless keyboard and mouse, yes, if they are good ones, cheapy ones may not work as well. I just did it with my dell ones, maybe not the highest quality, but not horrible and they worked perfectly fine, they are wireless, but still, its good to have a backup set of wired keyboard and mouse, just in case. Thanks again my friend. I hope you are subscribed as well, so you can catch up with all my latest videos, I just released another build video and cabling video. Newer camera, let me know what you think. (still getting used to the settings though).
Really fantastic video; I've done a number of Intel builds before, but this is my first AMD. I particularly liked your explanations of the BIOS settings for DOCP and the Gen4 devices. I'd have taken me awhile to figure those out. Also the part about downloading the chipset drivers from AMD and not ASUS. Great stuff for an AMD noob like me.
I also have the Crosshair VIII Hero; but I have had one issue that I've been stumped on for the past 2 days. My bios doesn't recognize any of the Sata harddrives I installed. These are both WD 6TB harddrives I pulled from my old Intel build; they're both storage and neither is bootable. SATA is enabled in BIOS, I used the power cables that came with the PSU, the SATA cables from the motherboard box. Tried switching the SATA ports, changing the power cables, and changing the SATA cables. Nothing has worked. My boot drive is an NVME in M2 slot 1, with an RTX 3080 in PCIE slot I. Using the current ASUS v3003 bios. No matter what I do, the BIOS just says 'Not Present' in any of the ports I try.
Thanks my friend, it means a ton to me and don't feel bad, we were all noobs when we started, we've all been there, I truly appreciate your kind words.
As for the drives, when they were on the other computer, were they in RAID, IDE, AHCI or NVME?
These were two identical WD 6TB 3.5 hard drives. They were in AHCI on the old machine, and the new machine is AHCI as well. I have a sneaking suspicion I fried both drives when I transferred them, because when I hooked them up to SATA power on the new machine, I used an old SATA power cable and not one that came with my new PSU. So when turning the power on, the new PSU didn't like the old cable, and hard stopped even posting. Power would turn on for a split second, and then the whole rig shut down. After a day of trying to figure out what the deal was, I started swapping cables out and used a new SATA power cable that came with the PSU. System started booting, but that's when the drives weren't showing up. So probably over the course of trying to power up the new machine with the old SATA cable, it fried the controllers in the old hard drives.
So today, I hooked up an old SSD on the new machine, and BIOS saw the drive. Had an old 3.5 SATA hard drive I hooked up, it saw it as well. Tried putting the old drives back in the old machine and it couldn't see them, even swapping ports. So I guess I learned an expensive lesson in that if you get a new PSU, throw out every left over power cable and only use what comes with the new one.
ahhh yeah, I try to never use old cables, they never work out right, well I am so very happy you got everything working my friend, it means a ton to me that you let me know the outcome.
Nice job Man ! I really appreciated this video. Thanks ! 🤓

For some reason when i start up my pc it sends me to the bios and i cant exit them

chances you have all the same components are rough, so me setting it up for myself would not have helped you much, though I am open to the idea to help others, what video helped you? As the title implied, I flashed the BIOS and installed Windows 10.

Thanks man. Out of all research of how to build a pc, the one thing I did not do was how to set-up windows, as I thought it came with the motherboard.
ahhh well so very happy I could help you my friend and you are partially right though. OEM Activation is tied to the motherboard so if you moved the motherboard from a Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc, to another machine the activation would follow and you could install windows. Motherboards you buy at the store don't have that, so you need to buy a copy or at least you would be able to use the free installer for a few months, here is the installer if you need help finding and creating the media: ruclips.net/video/C759I7DBXd8/видео.html

I’m stuck on whether or not I should get the Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII 570 or the Asus ROG Strix 570 E-Gaming. In your opinion which MOBO is the better of the two? I’d like to OC the CPU to 4.0 nothing crazy and run the ram at the 3600MHz. The PC will be used for streaming and gaming. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
So happy I could help you on the other comment, please let me know if you have any other questions.
Lol! Thank you bro! will do that and I really appreciate your great support! I love the videos and follow you! I wil keep you posted my progress!

Hahah, well I want to thank you first my friend, it is awesome to know I could help you and it is completely my pleasure. I have a ton of videos I have made for this and many more, I have over 400 videos with different pc related stuff so I am sure I have more that can help. I also come out with videos every week, and if I don't have something you would like to see, let me know, maybe I can make it. Thanks so much my friend, and please do consider liking the video and subscribing, Thank you.

It means a ton to me and I am so very happy I could help you. Also, if you feel like this would help others, please feel free to share this video.
This is a great video for first time builder of this generation of computers! My last build was from 2008. Q: How much/little of this will cross over for the Dark Hero motherboard? Will the bios page pretty much have all the same options? Anything different that's important to know besides what's here in this video? Thank you sir, and I can't wait to first boot this weekend!!!
This should all be very identical, slight differences, but it should help. If you are building into this, these 2 should help: ruclips.net/video/9gg8w8BHGns/видео.html and cable management: ruclips.net/video/nJUqyHh1QQY/видео.html
Very informative, thanks
One thing though, updating bios is very risky, I wouldn't recommend updating it unless there are major issues with stock bios
After doing this for almost 30 years, it's not as risky any more, especially on this board with bios flash back. With all the fixes and updates to performance bios' bring, I always recommend updating, I understand your sentiments but I would have to disagree.
Hi bro. Congrats for this helpfull tutorial. During this you mentioned about a specific one to system over clock. Can you post the link? Thanks
I have not done that one just yet, I have a lot of projects I am very late on I am trying to catch up on, I hope to get to that one soon though. Make sure to click on the notification bell to see when I come out with new videos. You play a lot of GTA San Andreas ?

Thanks buddy, I am really thinking about doing a live stream... but what should I do it on?

I would to a live stream, and chat would be there but what should I make the video on?
I have been watching quite a few videos of yours and really enjoy learning. Keep up the great work! I just recently built my first and new PC. I did a a lot of research and I watched a lot of your videos as well. When I go to update my bios it tells me “Please back up your bitlocker recovery key and suspend bitlocker encryption in the operating system before updating your system” also I don’t know if this matters but after all that it then says that my usb file is not a proper file to update the bios. Do you have any suggestions on what to do???
nah, you dont have bitlocker, or you are not using it, so you are good, just go through it my friend, you are good. Thanks so much for your kind words, so happy I could help you.
You have to format the thumb drive as fat32 then copy the bios files over. So if you reply, please don't edit your comment, have a separate reply, editing your comments, RUclips doesn't send me notifications.
Thanks for doubling the comment, all the back up is always welcomed
Nice vid. I’m a noob here and was worried about having to flash the bios before even putting the OS on it.
its best to put it on before the OS but its not a huge issue, you can do it whenever and as BIOS' come out as well. Thanks so much for your kind words my friend, so very happy I could help.
Great vid! Just wondering why you changed the M.2 from the 2nd slot to the 1st slot? I'm about to build on the same MB and i'm curious! ty!
thank you my friend, as for why, the top one will go into a x4 while the bottom will be limited to a x3.
@@ThisBytesForYou Thank you for the quick reply! Indeed I have just confirmed the information by looking at the specifications of the motherboard! Do you see a problem with not putting the heatsink back on top of the fan?
its not the heatsink, its just a cover, you can get rid of it and its also to protect the fan blade.
Thank you.

Hey, nice video. I have a similar motherboard to yours (x299-e gaming ii) but I am having issues with display, having tried everything I was told to remove the cmos battery, any idea how?
they look slightly similar, but VEYR different. AMD vs Intel 2066. the 2066 platform is very different as it was a large step towards server grade architecture to a desktop, so it has its quirks, not bad by any means, just some quirks. Before I can help you though, I need some information. what manufacturer and model number, exact model numbers please, are the CPU, Video card and power supply? BTW, this is how to reset your CMOS: ruclips.net/video/RnbMHHR0E_g/видео.html but it may not be the issue with yours.
Hi would you suggest updating windows before or after downloading all drivers. Or does this not really matter?
Update windows, then install all of the drivers over.
Thanks one question. Did you plug the monitor into the motherboard first to get to the BIOS or to the GPU? Thanks again....
no, directly to the GPU, never to the motherboard unless there was no GPU. Regardless, this CPU does not have on dye graphics, its all CPU here and always a pleasure my friend, so very happy you enjoyed the video.
Thanks!
Not even close to what your help was worth. Thank you my friend!

Thanks for this very informative video. I just bought a dark hero board and for some reason cannot download the drivers on asus's website. I've tried clearing cookies, disabling my ad-blocker and using another search engine, but nothing seems to work. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks.
wierd, never saw the issue. Are you using Chrome or Edge, try downloading Chrome just to be sure, but let me know how it goes.
Finally got my hands on a 5900x upgrading from a 3700x so i came back to you for guidance lol do i need the flashdrive if my pc is already set up? I didnt need to update it with the 3700x
awesome my friend, so happy you were able to get one but no, if you flashed the BIOS for the 3700, you are good for the 5900 but I do recommend flashing it regardless because of all the great updates. Thanks so much for stopping by and I thank you for your support, it means a ton to me.
You are awesome, thank you for this video. It helped me until windows says it can't install in my ssd M. 2 because is a MBR. 😩 Why meeeee? Do you have a video on how to resolve this?? TIA!
Well you want to install onto GPT, which you will want to make sure you install with your BIOS setup as uefi not legacy. Maybe it would be better to watch this video: ruclips.net/video/eoFyW5QVunA/видео.html
Love these videos! I cannot figure out how to get past the bios, followed this to the T but my bios says no bootable devices found (yet it shows my usb stick with the Windows install and my M.2)!? 🤔.. 😭
you might have to select the UEFI thumb drive in the BIOS, every bios is different, for every type of board, so its hard to say which, did you make the thumb drive correctly, that is usually the problem: ruclips.net/video/C759I7DBXd8/видео.html
In the downloading the drivers process i will download Bluetooth and wireless drivers since I will be getting the WIFI version
Good stuff my friend, let me know how it goes.
can you use this same method if you downloaded the windows 10 io onto an external hard drive instead of a thumb drive?
Emmm, I am sure you can, but you will dedicate the entire external hard drive to a windows 10 install thumb drive, seems like a waste?
Hi,first i want to thank you for your super detailed building videos, very spot on, and beginner friendly !!!!!.I'm about to start building my pc using the same Moboard and cpu,and i'm confused on how to flash the bios,as i remember seeing people recommending to do so pc turned off using the flash bios button,so what's the difference ? please enlighten me !!
Happy I could help but the way they are showing you is a recovery method, also in my opinion a lazy method, but it works. You can follow the instructions I provide here and you will be good, OR you can use their method kind of like I show you here: ruclips.net/video/RnbMHHR0E_g/видео.html
There is no difference, to me, the Flashback is more cumbersome but everyone has their own preference of course. Flashing like I show you here, you see everything thats going on, you are in control.
@@ThisBytesForYou yeah exactly, your method here feels less dangerous too hh,thank you very much, you're awesome !!

Hi, for some reason i cant run my ram at 4000mhz with this mobo along w the 5900x. The ram that i got is the trident z royal 4000mhz c16. Thanks for the vid man, really helped out a lot!
Hello my friend, so due to the infinity fabric, 4000hz is the limit but getting there is VERY different, sometimes impossible. I have not been able to , i can get close though. the fclck limit on the infinity fabric is 2000hz (times 2 for the memory frequency, which is how you get 4000hz) but the highest i could get stability was about 1733 which is about 3466, or maybe it was 1833 for 3666, I don't remember, I am currently using 3200mhz RAM with a latency of 14ms, which can potentially run better, the CAS latency has a bigger impact on performance, will work on getting the mhz higher soon. But, you can get the performance up, you will need to raise the voltage to the ram and maybe play with a few other settings, to me, a little frustrating and not worth it because in overclocking, which is what you will be doing, you risk stability.
Also, so very happy you enjoyed the video, and thanks so much for your kind words.
@@ThisBytesForYou got it. Thank you for the prompt response!! Gave up on 4000hz and was successful with 3600 cl14 and so far no stability issues! Hehe have a great day brotha!
yeah, it is very frustrating, it can be done... but it will take time, I stopped focusing so much on it, since that piece alone took too much time and I have such a backlog of reviews to bring to you. So happy you have that working for you. I hope you have a great one as well. I hope you liked the video and subscribed, it helps to keep bringing you bigger and better videos and I come out with videos every week with more that can help. thanks again my friend.
if ever I can't sync all my lights I turn them off or its rainbow vomit for everyone 😂
I like rainbow vomit but I don't always look at my of, just my monitor, so I never really see it.
Or if you have extra space on ur drive just shrink it and make a new partition and drag that bios file into the new partition drive go to bios and ez flash find that drive to what ever you named it and just find the bios update file and boom works like a charm no usb required. After that just delete the partition drive and extend it back into the main drive
all that extra work to flash a BIOS, a tiny thumbdrive would work perfectly fine and take a few seconds.
I have a quick question so I just bought a riser Gen 4 cable would I be able to switch to Gen 4 in the bios without any hiccups? Prior I had a Gen 3 riser cable and I was forced to switch to gen 3, GPU is the rtx 3090.
yup, Gen4 should work.
do you know if i can update my bios without affecting my raid0 nvme setup on asus zenith 2 ? :P
well, you will need to go back in the BIOS and set it up, but it will take a few seconds, but nothing should happen to the drive or the data of the drive, might be best to go in and check how its configured, take a few screenshots so you can see it later when you reconfigure it.
Hey i just got done installing a x570 viii dark hero mobo but what do I do now? Do I just connect power cable and turn on the power button on the desktop? Thanks so much for this detailed video! i noticed that you are using the Lian Li O11 case, same as myself. I am having an issue with my case power switch, using the X570 Crosshair Viii WiFi. My PC boots with the start button on the mobo, but not with the power switch itself. i have the LEDs from the IO connector all connected properly, and the PWR switch i ran to the Power/Ground side of the Q connector, rather than the reset switch side. My power switch illuminates, but will not power my PC up or down. Is this a common thing with the Lian Li O11 case? is it my Bios not being updated causing this?
no this is not a common thing, check this video out, it may help you in connecting the IO, it may be off: ruclips.net/video/nJUqyHh1QQY/видео.html

Do I have to update the bios every few months or can I keep the bios just as it is?
A lot of people feel that if everything is good, there is not reason but I like to update them. Sometimes you get new features and fixes to problems you never knew you had. You should check the release notes for the BIOS' to see if it fixes an issue you might have. If it ain't broke, don't fix.... but I like to fix so sometimes I break hahah.
in 8:58 what thumb drives are plugged to the pc, after u updated the motherboard did u disconnect the thumb drive that had the mb bios update
I did, I plugged in the USB drive to install windows 10, the other USB drive was to flash the BIOs. Yes, after the flash, i disconnected the thumb drive with the BIOS on it.
Great Video! Whats the qcode AA means. I have the same code after a bios update.
Thanks bud, you didn't see I talked about it in the video?
@@ThisBytesForYou I watched the full video but didn’t see that part. Would you be able to give me the time stamp on that. This code AA if bothering me as i have no clue to clear it.
Thank you
The AA code, in the context of ASUS motherboards, stands for “All Clear” or “System Has Transitioned to ACPI Mode.” This code is typically displayed when the motherboard's initial hardware checks and power-on processes have been successfully completed.
@@ThisBytesForYou Thank you. I guess there is no way we can clear it then. I will probably leave it as is.

I am not fully understanding your question, but do you get any display with the 5800X?
Good evening, dear excellent video, do you know how to deactivate the integrated video through the Bios of the same board? It would be a huge help from you, I have the Asus crosshair 8 dark hero. Greetings!!
Hello my friend,
To disable the onboard video on the Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero motherboard, Go into the BIOS and Navigate to "Advanced Settings": Once in the BIOS, switch to the Advanced tab.
Go to NB/SA Configuration: Look for the NB Configuration or SA Configuration section, depending on whether your CPU is AMD or Intel.
Adjust IGFX/iGPU Settings: Find the IGFX Multi-Monitor or iGPU Multi-Monitor setting and change it to Disabled1.
Please note that these steps are general and the exact names of the settings may vary slightly. I no longer have this board, this video is a bit older.
Remember to save your changes before exiting the BIOS. This will ensure that the onboard video is disabled and your system uses the discrete graphics card for video output.
@@ThisBytesForYou My good friend, I thank you very much for your response and the intention of helping me, I will tell you how it goes, blessings

Im having trouble with locating the cba cap thing or downloading it. i see the drivers are on my thumbdrive but i dont see it coming up as the .cbh thing you were talking about.
it downloads as a zip, you have to extract the cap file onto your thumb drive. Leave it as a cap file, unless you dont get video because of your processor, then you will have to rename the cap file to C8H.CAP and use bios flashback, let me know how that works for you.
I'm having some annoying issues with stutter is certain games and seen on a few forums that people have updated BIOS and resolved them. Took at the Asus site and my BIOS is 20 revisions from the latest which makes me want to do the upgrade to hopefully improve the stutter. Took a look at your video here and seen that the process isnt too complicated but I keep seeing people write you should not update BIOS as its super dangerous etc. Can I ask where you stand on BIOS upgrades in situation where you arent forced into by needed to install new hardware? Is it worth it in this situation or best left well alone? Thanks as ever for your great videos.
It's dangerous for a few reasons, 1. People not paying attention to what they are doing, flashing any BIOS, thinking any BIOS works and 2, if you are in an area where the lights go out a lot, only flash your BIOS if you are connected to a UPS. I personally always flash my BIOS whenever a new BIOS is released. It may work now, but it may work better after and if you see more compatible with, better compatibility with, fixes stability issues, enables SAM, enables support for Windows 11, just do it.
Big thing to pay attention to, that many miss, READ THE NOTES FOR EVERY BIOS. Some will require you to flash to a certain BIOS before you update to the newest BIOS, and so on, so pay attention.

Hello. Thanks for the content. I am using the same motherboard with ryzen 9 5900x but when it is starting it get the 02 AP error and I could not even enter de BIOS. Any tip ?
Remove everything but the cpu, cpu heatsink and video card (since your processor does not have gpu), so remove sata cable, and m.2 drives. Then put in one stick of memory, in the slot where it works with only 1 stick, you have to look at the manual, I am benchmarking and in my phone, I can't check and try to boot, see if that works. If it does not, remove that stick of ram and put another stick of ram and see if that boots into the bios without the error. If it does, you have a bad stick of ram, if it does not, try with a different video card. Let me know how that goes.
@@ThisBytesForYou Thanks a Lot man !! I ve forgotten to say that I still not have a cooler(my corsair will arrive tomorrow). Could this be the reason?
sorry my friend, I did not see this reply, youtube has a horrible notification system. If you dont have a cooler on the CPU, yes this would be the issue, you never want to start up a system without something cooling the cpu, it would kill it (or throttle horribly) but also there are sensors to tell the system if there is a heatsink.
