Episode 36 Removal of old glass from the retainer channel and stainless trim
If you are trading out the glass from your vintage car, you will need to remove the old glass from the retainer channel and the stainless trim. This episode we show you how to do that.

I am so glad you guys are restoring the exact car I am working on! This exactly what I will be doing next weekend or the one after. I am going to try to restore my side windows and rear window with a Eastwood Co. deep scratch kit. What will you coat the bottom part of your window frame with? What is the part number for the white plastic wheels on the lower window frame?

@Chevysrule454 We'l look into it. Most of the time you won't be able to get them out. We've had varying degrees of success in doing so, sadly most of the time the degrees are to the "not fixed side".

@Rasd4Metta Wow, we'll need more staff...and coffee to do that. We've got some ideas for an additional show but we'll keep mum about it for now =).

Hi guys, again love the show, never miss an episode. My 72 Camaro's door glass has the usual vertical scratches , and seeing as the last episode was in glass, trim removal, I was wandering if u could do an episode on removing shallow and maybe some deep scratches in factory side and/or back windows (If u can get Vinnie to stick around long enough...LOL)Thanx , hope u like my suggestion.

We lost the screws that attach the frame. Can you tell me what size to buy please?

Sorry, maybe contact AMK Products 540-662-7008. They sell all of the fasteners for the Mustang.

Hey guys I'm still hear, love the show, but the only thing I don't like is having to wait a week for a new episode to come out, have you thought of maybe running two shows a week? lol and by the way I saw Vinnie take your speakers

Ummmmyeah check the date. We are now at episode 331...And we still have fun. We aren't acting. Never have never will. No scripts. Ever.

Acting doesn't mean you're reading off a script. 1:08-2:30 was all acting and all a waste of time, it would be different if you were (no offense) funny but you aren't, it feels similar to cringing through an episode of the office only much worse.. I've looked at your new stuff and I just want to say, your production quality has definitely increased but you're on youtube not network television. If you want to monetize off ad revenue then do it with youtube ads rather than spending the first 2 minutes showing me your ad. Your latest video takes 3 minutes before we even get to you explaining what the video is about. That's not good film making. You try and hook the audience within the first 30 seconds which is good but your hook fails because your audience isn't an old man in his chair, comfy at home asking to be entertained. It's young mechanics in their shops, on their phones, trying to troubleshoot their project on the fly with no time or patience for bullshit. Do you get me?

In conclusion, I respect you and you're obviously both talented and knowledgeable and I don't want to make it seem like I want you to film yourself having a shitty time. I'm both a trained mechanic and a trained producer; I just want to see you succeed and also give the audience the tips they're looking for without frustrating them with mostly useless banter.
Here's what I was looking for: How would you remove a front quarter panel venting glass pane from it's glass channel that's been sealed with silicone adhesive and let harden and rust in to the glass channel? I've broke two straight edge razor blades attempting to separate the sides away.. lightly using a heatgun to soften the adhesive. I think that in the process of the rust developing, the oxidation has expanded the painted surface, compressing the silicone compound against the window. Yikes.

      Check out ruclips.net/video/GbCNAzrVAV0/видео.html
They waste some time, are ridiculous some times, and have their own cheesy intro but by the 2:00 point they have described their problem, described their solutions, told the viewer of the solution they chose AND have started installation of their chosen solution.
Now look at their viewcount and look at yours, look at their likes per video and look at yours.

The new intro title card and NPD ad is 44 second long. That NPD ad at the front pays my bills. NPD supports our channel. As does Eaton Detroit Spring. So that 30 second ad is paid for. Without them I wouldn't make enough to do this--in fact it would be more profitable to go to work at McDonalds and ask "would you like fries with that?" RUclips money isn't high in this market (at least for me) and I am a one man band trying to make my living at this. We are working toward having the NPD "ad" more of a minute tech piece. But that takes time and we only recently had NPD sign off on the proposal. The banter any more is typically more about what we are working on, We have cut back on...actually cut out...set pieces. We all have our own way of looking at how to do this. We have changed a lot of what we do (shortened intros, gone away from set comedy, etc.) We also have introduced Manic Mechanic which is much more straight forward. But until you and the rest of those people that want all of this to be free start plopping down enough money for me to make my house payment and feed my family, the ads stand. That said, we appreciate your input, and would like to hear how we can, without removing my main source of revenue, make our channel better contact us: jford@autorestomod.com or call 863-409-2654 between 9 and 4 eastern standard time USA. Thanks again.
