I love that you use the extra bulky yarn so that it's clearer for us. Thank you so much, this is the first time I understand this stitch. Can't wait to start practicing!!

@Yarndrasil Thanks so much Im excited !Any more stitches that you may think a beginner should know to be able to do other things in crochet I am a beginner myself and just used your videos since I can see the stitches easier with the bigger yarn size and bigger hook.

What is the difference between traditional and non-traditional stitches ?

Hi, Idrisi! Your pattern will specify if you’re meant to be working through the back loop only (BLO) or front loop only (FLO). If it doesn’t, then you’ll be working underneath both the front and back loops. Which is how the stitches are traditionally completed! Hope this helps :)

@@Yarndrasil what will happen if I work on back loops only ? So curious to know ?

@@AamnaIdrisi it creates a beautiful ribbing effect. Great for cuffs or the bottom of hats! 😊

For the life of me, I can’t come up with 10 stitches using the back loops. I’ve used your tutorials and have mastered them, but this one is not working for me. Any suggestions?

Hi Kay! It's hard to say without seeing your work, but my best suggestion would be to use a stitch marker to mark the fourth chain, of the first stitch. The top of the first stitch (the turning chain) tends to lean slightly off to the side which can make it difficult to see. I really hope this helps!
